Fond memories of being here. The first time I walked in I was greeted by the beautiful bar maid Zoe who clearly puts in so much effort. Then I met her parents and the locals turned out to be the best bunch ever.

Many thanks for the fantastic work Christmas party we had last night, was a brilliant night plenty of laughs and were looked after by all the staff, thankyou Derick for the delicious Christmas dinner we all thoroughly enjoyed it Xxx.

What a wonderful hotel and fantastic food the staff where so helpful and very pleasant and friendly I highly recommend the Plough a hotel to stay in and to to have food.

I'm guessing it's family run & family tend to overlook guests & tend to thier family members. I intended to order food after a staff change and stood at the bar for 10 mins with only 6 people in whilst bar staff walked past me twice & didn't even acknowledge me even though I had 2 drinks prior from another staff member. Poor service sadly.

Very friendly and attentive, comfortable room, dog friendly Amber enjoyed her stay. Two day stay for my wife’s birthday, would highly recommend.

Experienced the cant be bothered attitude. Stayed in the town because there was a hotel and we wanted some food. Went into the bar (with 2 people in! ) at half 5 and wouldn't even accommodate 2 of us after 7pm because they supposedly had a 'big' group on a Wednesday night!? no suggestions, no compromise from the 'chef' aka likely microwave operative. So pissed off by the attitude wouldn't even go in for a drink later and doubt very much if we will even come back to the town because of it.

From check in to check out delighted with this experience. Chantelle was really helpful and gave an excellent service. The food was amazing and the room was beautiful. Would thoroughly recommend this place for any traveller.

A very cozy pub with excellent food. The staff is very friendly and the guests cosmopolitan. On the way to or from our holiday destination, we always pause at the campsite nearby. We already know that we will eat Fish and Chips here again.

We are staying here for a dog show and the whole place is amazing! The food is out of this world, as vegetarians and my dad being gluten free, going for meals can be difficult but the food was amazing. Lovely rooms and really friendly staff. … Will definitely stay here again.

Warm and friendly pub. Only popped in for a couple of beers but it had a good atmosphere so will go back.

We had a couple of lovely afternoons in here, plus it was dog friendly too, very nice staff.

5* ‘Happily retired’ Sunday Lunch Specials (Thursday, Friday and Saturday lunchtimes too) Half portions of battered haddock and scampi, both with bread and butter followed by coffee or tea. Freshly cooked delicious food served by very engaging staff who made you ‘feel at home’. I could not praise it enough. … We will return! Thank you!

Nice place but despite checking it out earlier in the day we were told there was not food left when we returned. Disappointing.

This is a locals pub. Fear not… they are friendly! Food is good and plentiful. There is a good choice of whiskey. Breakfast is substantial.

Very friendly and got us some food at 10 to 5 when they don't start until 5 30pm. Will recommend.

Excellent meal here yesterday evening. Fantastic fish and chips — crisp, non-greasy and served with a lovely salad and tartare sauce. Also really tender spiced lamb curry and followed up by a super indulgent sticky toffee pudding. Reasonably priced and very generous portions — this is EXACTLY what we want from pub food. Highly recommend.

My last review froze and sent wrong. We visit a lot and the staff make you feel welcome. Their quiz nights on a fortnightly basis are challenging but fun and raise cash for charities.

Needed a room in a hurry. Staff went out of there way to help. Good food and breakfast. Newly refurbished.

Just had a lovely fish curry, one of the nicest meals I have had in a long while. I also see the recent reviews about the smell in the bar and toilets — I can't believe these comments are about this pub. It's a lovely pub with a lovely atmosphere and nice toilets.

Another most enjoyable stay over, evening meal and Big Breakfast at The Plough.

The bar room smelled like a toilet. In fact, the toilet was more fragrant.

We use the plough inn each time we walk around the north side of the cheviots including the St Cuthberts way. Especially in the winter.

Local hotel which has lots of visitors and walkers. Good menu at reasonable prices. Good selection of beers and bar snacks. Not over priced either. Friendly locals who were very chatty!

Our family were walking St Cuthbert's Way with our wee dog and stayed overnight at The Plough in Yetholm. We loved it. Lovely, comfy, traditional style bedrooms with no fuss but all that we needed. The bar was welcoming and staff very friendly and hospitable. The chef cooked a superb meal — including, much to my daughter's delight — gluten free fish and chips followed by GF sticky toffee pudding! He took great care to go through the menu and offer Gluten Free options. The seabass, steak and caesar salad were similarly scrumptious! All in all a brilliant hotel in a picturesque location — we would all thoroughly recommend it.

Lovely friendly place, not bad priced, lovely food.

Service was fantastic and really friendly. The portions were generous for the food and drinks. Vegetarian options were a let down though. The vege burger was dry and bland.

Food and the service was excellent. Also real ale served here.

Just spent a lovely night at the Plough, really friendly place good staff and great food. Try the Cullen skink it's really good. If your into Ale they had a Ale called grubber that was also great. Spacious comfy room. Great if you have dogs

Excellent pub to visit after a days' walking in the hills. A good quality pint is always appreciated. Friendly staff, looked after our needs including Wi-Fi arrangements. Tremendous takeaway fish supper cooked by the hotel chef to round off our afternoon visit… then back home for a few drams.

Verry nice rooms and food, and the people are verry easy to get allong with, we look forword to returning.
