Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Spotless, and well appointed. Really friendly and super helpful hosts going over and above! One of the best places I have ever stayed. Thoroughly recommend.

The Old School House is simply outstanding. Spotless, modern, comfortable rooms with a lovely guest lounge area with a reading library for every taste. The freshly cooked breakfast each morning was a particular highlight. The Border breakfast, with a touch of haggis is just delicious and I couldn't get enough of Ian's home-made granola! Our daughters loved the mini cereal boxes, muffins and pancakes with maple syrup. Ian and Kate are the most fabulous, welcoming hosts, who go the extra mile for their guests; from home-baked treats on arrival to a refreshing cold beer after hours of cycling in the hills. Nothing is too much trouble. They even provided toys, games and colouring pens to keep the girls amused. There is a real home-from-home feel to The Old School House and we cannot wait to return. If you are looking for a weekend break in Northumberland, then look no further — you won't be disappointed here!

Outstanding hospitality for a weary cyclist. Secure garage. Was offered a beer on arrival, legend. Both owners delightful and non invasive. Breakfast set me up for my cycle to Kendal today. Recommend highly.

Haltwhistle and its surrounding areas is a lovely place to explore and The Old School House a Beautiful place to stay, very comfortable and clean, home from home, with a fabulous breakfast to set you up for the day. Ian and Kate cant do enough for you, you come away feeling like you have visited friends. Cant recommend this place enough and cant wait to go back, for longer!

What an amazing place this is. Made to feel so very welcome.
The B&B is very well equipped and very comfortable.
For outdoor people it is perfect and even has a drying area.
A very comfortable lounge area is available for guests.
Food at breakfast time is cooked freshly and is of great quality. I would recommend the Border breakfast!

Ian and Kate are excellent hosts. Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, keen to chat to guests and make them feel welcome. Kate also gave me a lift to Vindolanda which saved me lots of time on a time limited visit. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
