Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service for our anniversary meal! I highly recommend!

The food at this restaurant is stunning; it looks stunning and tastes amazing. The best wine list I have seen, the choice is fantastic. The staff are also very knowledgeable about the products they offer and friendly and approachable. Highly recommend anyone wanting a fine dining experience close to home to do so at the Capon Tree.

Stunningly made food, fresh and not too overbearing. An absoloute delight. Minimum staff who were so efficient in every way. An unforgetable experience.

Brilliant friendly service, very prompt service, Food excellent. My husband brought us out for our 10th Wedding Anniversary, we both had 3 courses totally devine. I had the goats cheese starter, beautiful We both had the venison with berries, we would recommend it. I had the Lemon tart and Raspberry (devine) Husband had the Strawberry Panocotta, (it was devine too! ) I had a sneaky try! & hubby tried mine. Neither my husband or I drink but they had none alcoholic beers. They also made mocktails that I took advantage of of a strawberry 🍓 daccirey so there is something for everybody. Very good value for money too! So we both would highly recommend booking a meal here! do it soon as your soon not going to be able to get a table here for a long waking time. This is a little gem of a restaurant in a Town that's steeped in history. So get in soon as I. Sure it will soon be booked out all the time. Oh! and ENJOY!

Our room is beautiful warm and toasty! The bar is lovely and welcoming, the manager taking her time to come and sit with you and have a chat… Which means alot! Had the king prawn starter then pizza's, what an amazing tasty takeaway, keep up the good work, will be back for more BBQ pulled pork pizza, the flavours where unreal, cheers guys.

Amazing pizzas fries and cocktails, order for home deliver a few times now and the food never disappoints and delivery always on time.

First time for dinner at the capon tree Friday evening for a belated birthday treat, definitely not our last, dinner was so amazing, three courses was an absolute treat every thing was perfect service 100%and food 100%was a definite 10/10 will definitely be making it a regular treat x.

The food was fabulous, perfect sized portions and very tasty. I'm a massive critic and have no issues complaining if somethings not right if I'm paying for it. Absolute no complaints. 10 out of 10

What a lovely meal, great atmosphere and super venue whatever the reason
Had our wedding anniversary meal here tonight. The quality of food exceptional and service fabulous. Staff very attentive and made us very welcome. Covid regulations aside (which totally observed) this was a lovely experience.
Venison beautifully cooked and could not fault any part of the meal.

Book table for our 39th wedding anniversary and we weren't disappointed. Amazing food, my husband is gluten free and was able to have the meal he wanted. Service was fabulous cant do enough for you. Amazing night and perfect place as 39 years ago we had our wedding reception in this building. Cant thank Ashley and Alastair enough for great food and service we received. Well worth booking. X.

Lockdown is tough on everyone, small businesses especially. Capon have embraced this and their local community by still offering amazing food/drinks and service direct to your door! We have just had 2 amazing pizzas from their home menu. Can honestly say these were the best pizzas we've tasted! Highly recommend ❤️❤️❤️

My wife turned 40 yesterday and I asked Ashley if I could have something special as we are in lockdown, Ashley and Alistair truly delivered. We had an amazing meal and cocktails and even made the effort to do mocktails and pizzas for the kids. Absolutely amazing food and service. Thank you so much. The girls loves the mocktails too.

Had a lovely takeaway last night. Recommend the Paella and the seafood pasta. Great flavours and good size portions.

Amazing meal tonight for late birthday celebrations, meant to be down for steak night but due to circumstances we got a takeaway instead, Alistair excelled himself with the chilli beef, Risotto and Paella… absolutely delicious. Thanks again!

We had a beautiful dinner on Wednesday night served by first class staff. The bar and the dining area were spotless. The staff are very friendly. Thankyou to the owners and staff for the hospitality and making the experience an enjoyable night. We will be back.

The staff are so friendly and helpful and the bar staff are really really knowledgeable. We spent a lovely few hours drinking some unusual and special gin and whisky before we went to bed. The room was spotless and the bathroom was big with lots of thoughtful extras. Breakfast was so different to the standard fry up, it was delicious. We will most definitely be back.

My room has an unexpected balcony. Room very sumptuous with lots of extras including robes. But the food. Its the food that stands out. An absolute delight. And, of course the staff are wonderful. Will be back.

Found this gem on the internet as I was passing through on business. Truly a remarkable place the owners and staff here make you feel so welcome and very attentive. Id strongly recommend stopping and eating here if ever nearby or if not just make an excuse you won't forget it.

Went for a family celebration meal, wow what a fantastic meal experience. The meal was exceptional and exceeded all my expectations. If you are visiting the Borders or live in the Borders The Capon Tree is a must and once visited return will soon happen.

The food is absolutely stunning, the presentation and service excellent. It was a journey of aromas and flavours that I didn't want to end, and I actually held off eating my last mouthful just so I could relish the flavours for as long as possible, and believe when I say I wanted to lick my plate and my husbands… Michlin Star quality. What a wonderful surprise it was too stumble across this wonderful restaurant today. The food was sublime, some of the best I have ever tasted, and beautifully presented in tasteful atmospheric surroundings. What more could one want?

Fine dining with friendly staff and an upscale ambiance. The staff were very friendly and the food was good. We had several starters and decided to split a main dish, but they brought it almost as two separate portions, each with all the special little side garnishes and lovely presentation. We had a great experience.

We had our wedding breakfast and evening reception here on 16/6/18, it was absolutely amazing, the food was gorgeous and the staff did a fantastic job. A special big thanks to Ashley for all her help throughout the planning aswell and for all the decorating for us. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely ambience and very tasty meal. The set menu was ideal for what we'd come for. Only thing letting it down was that it was really quite cold, some more heating would've been very welcome, even the hand dryers in the bathroom blasted with cold air.

Stayed here last night whilst filming at the jail. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was large, clean and really comfortable with a great bathroom/shower. The waitress in the restaurant was super and the food amazing. I can clearly see why the restaurant is so highly rated. The food was super, top quality. The kitchen staff and owner were really friendly. I fully recommend this hotel and restaurant and will stay here again.

Impromptu visit while passing through Jedburgh. Happened to be their steak night. Wow what a lovely meal. Also found out they do accommodation, will definitely be on my list of places to stay, eat, and drink :-)

After being let down somewhere else, we found this place and we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating especially at last minute. Cocktails were delicious, food was amazing and the room was outstanding. They certainly put their guests and customers first and foremost with their small added touches to make your stay even better. My husband and I were delighted with our stay and would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Glad the other place let us down because we wouldn't have found this secret gem and will most certainly be returning.
