We stayed at the salmon inn overnight and we couldn’t fault it at all! Great sized rooms, such amazing attention to detail. The bed was the comfiest ever!
Although they don’t offer breakfast, they have a great choice of grab snacks (complimentary) even catering for gluten free!
We had such a great time in the pub itself last night with brilliant tunes and such friendly staff.

Had dinner last night, food was delicious also stayed over night, the room was perfect. Service and staff were really good. Will definitely be back soon and would highly recommend the Salmon inn.

Just had a takeaway lunch, omg is the only word to describe the food. Absolutely delicious! Massive portions too… the Battenberg cheesecake is just lush, full of flavour and a massive portion too. Recommend.

Had a great meal his evening. Staff were friendly and professional x considering all the COVID restrictions we had an excellent family meal x would highly recommend.

The food & staff are 2nd to none really really clean.

Ate there for the first time for a staff gathering. Food was epic highly recommend the Guinness pie and the kinder cheesecake.

Stayed here on the 6th July as we were in Galasheils to celebrate my aunts 80th birthday meal.
First thing I noticed was how busy the bar and restaurant were so always a good sign.
The staff were so friendly so 10 stars for that. Very helpful… brought lovely capachino outside for me as I sat at the tables outside on the front as I sat in the sun.
Nothing was too much trouble for them.
The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean.
Only downside was that they dont do a cooked breakfast
Had a small selection of fruit and breakfast bars … yoghurt in fridge but nothing substantial. Couldn't bring myself to eat anything as it didn't look very appetising.
Would certainly stay here again if a cooked breakfast was on offer… otherwise it would be a no from me as everything else was spot on.
No one there for check out this morning which was a disappointment.
Overall really good stay and beds comfortable.

Had a girly afternoon in here today food was amazing & staff were lovely definitely 5 stars x.

Tasty cooked to order steaks from the specials board washed down with a lovely bottle of house fizz and a gin to finish all served with a smile in the light "cellar" … would never expect anything less at the Salmon.

Great service and lovely staff, and all I can say is if you drink Guinness this is the best.

Great wee spot for lunch. Dog friendly too and our two dachshund's got a free sausage each! Good food, good setting, great staff and good prices. We'll be back.

Bar small. Meals are good but need to book. Toilets up stairs so NOT wheelchair friendly. Bar person seemed to be chatting with a customer but no other staff seen to be friendly.

Nice pub & great location but disappointed at prices of soft drinks. Over £5 is a bit steep for a pint of piped diet coke & a pint of lime & soda!

Wow pleasantly surprised called in for dinner myself the Mr & 3 kids family friendly staff, lovely comfortable setting with great home cooked food large portions at very reasonable prices & a mighty fine pint of Guinness pulled from the pump hidden gem The Salmon Inn would highly recommend & will most certainly be back might have to book as it's a Tuesday evening & not an empty table come 6 o'clock.

Massive thank you to the lovely Smiling and patient staff working Saturday night x (especially patient cos you ladies must have found it hard to get a work in around us chatting).
A group of 12 hungry people did not phase the staff and with everyone choosing different dishes from the fab menu and specials board it wasn’t no easy feat for the chef. The food however was hot, tasty and plentiful, the menu was uncomplicated and something for everyone x 12 empty plates says it all, definitely be back, worth the 2 train journeys to get there.

Just a very lovely place and staff very polite, not had a meal in their yet, but looks a very clean and tidy place.

It's ok, fairly standard fare food wise. It's a lot better than some of the other places nearby. One of the more attractive looking bars in Galashiels.

Was there to watch the rugby, good atmosphere and plenty screens. Enough staff on hand to run the bar even though it was very busy. Beers was cold and a good selection. Some nice ales also. Would go back again for another afternoon and evening.

Clean as always. Pleasant surroundings with added bonus of warm fireside on a cold snowy night when I visited. Excellent food and ales available at the family run bar. Now has rooms available for your short break upstairs.

Great wee place, staying down here for work, rooms are spotless and very comfortable, food in the bar is excellent, had steak pie last night it was really nice, had the battered fish last week which was fab as well.

All in all a great wee place to come for a drink, something to eat or an overnight stay.

Had an excellent lunch at the Salmon Inn, I had the battered haddock and it didn't disappoint my wife had the sticky chicken wrap and again hit the spot. The food was hot and we'll presented. The Belhaven best is a well kept pint brilliant. Staff very welcoming, friendly, pleasant and attentive.

Great place to go with family or to start the night with good food and big portions. Been here a few times and have never been disappointed with the service or the food. Great plave and good atmosphere, probably one of the best places where you get your money's worth for portion size. This place is always buisy and thats because the food is that good. Totally recommend going here if you are looking for a good portion of food and a friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Great pub food with a changing selection of specials to choose from. Very popular and you need to book in advance, particularly at weekends.

Good traditional bar only had drinks but the food looked good.

Came to Galashiels to scatter my mum's ashes on Monday and wondered where we were going to eat and came across the salmon years ago my dad had many a pint in there so we went in and was very Impressed the decor is lovely the meal marvellous staff very attentive I would highly recommend and if in Gala again will definitely be back.

Room satisfactory just a little small. Food exellent. Menu limited. Service could be better from bar staff. Problems are from the local drunks and gangs of yobo. S roaming the streets at night With no police visible.

This pub is one of the chain of Wetherspoons pubs. It offers a large menu of reasonable priced meals, with an extra featured menu from Mon to Fri. The drinks are lower priced than other drinking establishments. I personally prefer Hunters Hall in Galasheils.

By far the best place to eat in the Borders. I've eaten here on many occasions and never been disappointed. The food is excellent, menu choices to suit all and constantly changing. It has a lovely, cosy, welcoming environment and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Recently visited with my two very small children and they were made to feel very welcome. Can't recommend it enough.
