Visited for lunch today. Excellent service. Fabulous food. Great price. Highly recommend.

Been to the Cairn hotel for both lunch and dinner. The food is really lovely, and the prices are great! The staff are very helpful friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend ❤️❤️

Shocking service today. 8 covers in and we couldn't get served our dessert. 3 times our table was looked at and ignored the empty plates on it. 2 staff on too. Seem it alot busier and 1 staff member cope better. lost 3 weekly regular lunchtime customers.

Had such a great meal for my Grandad’s birthday today, food was delicious and he loved his cheesecake for dessert! Big shout out to the staff who were so attentive and especially Debbie who was absolutely fabulous! 🤗❤️

Great place for dinner service is excellent and meal choice is good very reasonable prices. Have been here lots of times and never disappointed.

Just back from a delicious Christmas lunch at The Cairn. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was very efficient and friendly. Such great value at £10 for 3 courses Awesome guys thanks.
If I could make one recommendation it would be for more Veggie options in the mains. It was macaroni or macaroni for my daughter and if your Vegan then there is nothing.

Amazing prices for 3 course meal. We got the steaks for just 16 quid… but you could get other stuff for just 10 quid. Obviously a very good chef… Will be back.

Just had a lovely meal here, very good for allergy sufferers as my 2 girls both suffer from this and they were so helpful and made them feel relaxed will definitely be back.

Amazing from start to finish, we went for lunch, what a joy, the food was absolutely fantastic, we had 3 courses each with 2 soft drinks (3 of us) each and I actually had 2 check the bill because I thought they'd missed one of us… every spoonful of food was better than the last… and the staff were superb, so friendly and knowledgeable, it was an absolute amazing experience from start 2 finish… so thank u cairn hotel… uve certainly got urselves a 5 star on everything, im looking forward to coming again.

The cleanliness its spotless, affordable, the staff are friendly and approachable, but not in a corporate way in a way genuine people would treat you. Really good food aswell highly recommended.

Staff brilliant just got in tonight when I got in bar man recognised me and said large Malbec, it’s nice when staff recognise you and what you are likely to want brilliant place.

Staff so cheerful and helpful meals lovely and plenty choice.

I've had a few lunches here recently and been impressed. The menu is updated regularly, the staff are friendly and service great. The 2 courses for £10 or 3 courses for £12 is really good value. Looking forward to going back.

Quality services! but the hotel manager was very arrogant and rude.

Roast beef hard and chewy luckily they gave ma a very sharp knife to try and slice it
Potatoes tasted strange and all veg tasted overcooked
I would not recommend this place at all.

Fab surroundings, helpful and friendly staff, great service and the food is to die for. We meet our friend once a month for a catch up and would highly recommend.

We have been coming to the cairn for a few years now but not been in the last 6 months but I don’t know if I would be back! The service was shocking young girl was just awful her table manner was terrible and heard her say lots of things under her breath about other tables, the food was good when eventually came out but it did make a long time and it was not busy in the slightest. There was no one to speak to about the service we had I would have preferred to speak with a manager but there was no one! Very disappointed.

Had a delicious lunch here today. Excellent choices on the special offer menu. Lovely presentation of each meal and it all tasted as good as it looked. Service was first class, and we’ll definitely be back.

Very friendly staff and good bar and food. The location let's the hotel down though as it is very close to a major dual carriageway and traffic noise is a problem in quite a few rooms.

Went here for soup and a sandwich deal and what a deal it was. Very good value for money. We had soup and sandwich — obviously, but we also were given a small salad bowl, some coleslaw and crisps. Excellent value for money. We did wait quite a while for food but I think there was a wedding on. Will definitely be back!

This was a very well organised hotel. The reason for my stay was my daughter's wedding. The staff were brilliant they were all helpful and very friendly and kept us all informed of what was happening. I would definitely return and recommend this property to my family and friends. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. A big thank you to all the staff.

We used to come for lunch here often when they had the 3 courses for £12 which we felt was fantastic. Always really big portions and the service was great. Also on a Sunday kids used to eat free which was fantastic and an even better reason to go. However since the menu has changed its not reasonably prices. No longer get 3 courses for a set price. So it's more expensive to eat here now. The food is lovely and seems to be a better quality as before (even though it wasn't bad before) but now it's always empty when we go — we went the other Sunday and we were the only people in the restaurant. I feel business would pick up for them if they brought back the 3 course deals but keeping the same quality of food.

My room size, decor and cleanliness could’ve been a lot better but the breakfast (full Scottish) was the best I’ve had and the staff were the most attentive I’ve come across in any hotel, and I work away a lot…

Food is excellent and so we'll presented. Varied menu which has something for everyone. Amazing value for money. The staff definately deserve a big mention, so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. They were still so lovely when we stayed much longer than we should!

What a fabulous hotel my husband and myself couldn’t get a taxi back to the hotel from a party and the staff at the cairn pulled out all the stops and kindly sent one of their staff to pick us up, many thanks great hotel x

Basic food choice but good value for money and good service.

Very good place for holidays and working guests, good parking and easy road access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and local countryside. Helpful staff and spacious rooms.

Just had a lovely lunch for my husbands birthday, excellent food, first class service and friendly staff Thank you Debbie we had a lovely time.

We had our wedding reception here. It was lovely. We come back every anniversary as well as coming with friends every so often. Very pleasant staff and a lovely meal. If we don't like something it gets sorted out right away. Highly recommend.

Grubby looking outer but once inside Great fresh food cater for vegans as well as vegetarians as well very nice room everything was spotlessly clean everywhere toilets and room had a very good night's sleep very friendly staff so don't judge the outer because the inner is more important We will go back again Very happy!

I have never stayed at the Cairn Hotel but was in one of the large function halls due to a funeral and the service was very good, the staff were very pleasant and helpful and overall we were very pleased with our choice of venue.

Rooms were clean and basic. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was fantastic.

Food excellent and lovely staff. Back again today. Lovely steak but 2.80 draft coke seemed steep. 5.50 for house red per gladd.

Friendly staff, restraunt and toilets clean. Food great value for money, generous portions. Rib-eye a little tough, cooked on too high a heat, mushrooms a little tired deep fried. Deserts nicely presented.

Staff pleasant and attentive. Sirloin steaks were a tad tough so disappointed in them. Sweets were good.

Stopped in here for a bite to eat on the recommendation of my folks who'd stayed there as a result of a family event. The staff were very attentive, food was in my opinion outstanding for what we'd paid (well my father paid truthfully) and the surroundings were very pleasant with a good family atmosphere. I could see lots of mid-week business stop-overs and they all seemed to be smiling so I expect this is a firm favourite with the 'away from home' brigade. Tried as he might, Jackson simply couldn't clog the u-bend in the stalls despite his staple diet of bananas, brown rice and bunt toast so it's a thumbs up for the boy's room too.

Old Hotel. W-Lan only in the hotel lobby. Staircase ne catastrophe. Elevators OK. Room also OK. Had made a round trip, so only 2 nights. Was OK. Breakfast OK.

Excellent Customer Service and Focus. Very friendly. Nicely equipped rooms. Excellent food. Try Mushroom Risotto. I loved it. Very friendly waiter service. Breakfast is really nice. All in all. Excellent and please try place to stay. Will stay again. 5

The venue was great for our 50th Birthday Celebrations. Staff friendly, helpful and professional.
Our guest all gave positive comments loving the hot buffet food and the ice cream went down a treat!
Family and friends stayed over at the hotel, giving same positive comments on their rooms, and lounge areas, all thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast. A few had lunch and some had dinner again positive comments. The hotel has great decor, its warm and inviting with friendly staff. Keep up the Good Work!

Staff is very very friendly. Rooms are clean and cosy. Not too big, but good enough. Water pressure for the showers is a bit low, but the overall experience is very good. Location is also perfect if you want to go to either Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Ambiance of the 60s, through hotel for group travellers. The quality of the food is according to 2 star category.
In the upper floors there was hardly any water for toilet flushing and showers before the time for breakfast.

Had a lovely family lunch on Sunday. The place is a bit dated, perhaps, but he food was good quality, very traditional, portions were really abundant, nicely presented and correctly priced. Staff was really nice and the overall experience was very positive.

Restaurant visit only. Great starters and main. Very friendly service. I believe it's a new menu. Surprisingly quiet. Expect it will get busier when word gets out.

Been a few times now. Food is fresh, hot and plentiful (including breakfast). Honestly can say I have never had anything bad to eat in the Cairn. Rooms are very pleasing and clean. Hotel as a whole is well presented. Staff all nice too.

Stayed overnight after a wonderful family wedding. Great hotel with really nice rooms. Lovely scenes around the hotel and most of all what pleasant and wonderfull staff there very welcoming atmosphere and a very pleasant stay ☺☺

We had our wedding here on the 24th june 2017 and the quality of service we were given was nothing short of perfection. We cannot thank everyone at the hotel enough and we would highly recommend there services. Carol we've got to say was absolutely amazing from the start of the process of our planning right to the end and David throughout the Day was an absolute joy to have as our master of ceremonies. The day for us was amazing and we did not need to worry about a thing as the hotel had went above and beyond for us. The quality of food was amazing from start to finish and ourselves and our guests couldn't fault it. Thank you for helping us on our special day and given us a day to remember. Xxx.

I won a meal for 2 voucher in a raffle. Staff were friendly & gave excellent service. Food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend the pork loin with pepper sauce topped with haggis, yum! 3 courses 4 £14, great deal.

Hotel is a little dated but decent value for money. Comfy and clean but the Wi-Fi is terrible. Ample parking.

We were only at the cairn hotel for a wedding so didn't spend much time exploring the hotel it was spent at the bar which was great really friendly service and the food was good. The hotel itself was just the same as most other hotels nothing to really stand out decoration or entertainment wise. I would go back for another function or just to stay if I was in the area.

Wasnt that impressed 1st time but gave them benefit if doubt and tried a 2nd visit. Was even worse 2nd time. Service appaling. Food was atrocious. Sent back fish as it was soggy and so greasy. When waiter returned with replacement (which wasn't much better) he griped that him and the chef couldn't find anything wrong with 1st fish. We all had different main courses and we all left almost full plates. No one asked us if everything was ok. Don't even get me started on deserts. Asked for bill, was told to wait a minute, no one returned. After 15 mins of waiting had to go find someone. Will definately not be back.

Atrocious mothers day lunch soup cold main course cold after being sent back via the owner still cold pudding forgettable. Then sat in waiting area to finish my wine heard owner discuss loudly with waitress our experience but was disinterested when we complained will never be back. The only positive was a waitress called Debbie could not have been more attentive.
