Lovely clean room (No 10) very quiet, staff very friendly, good breakfast — ps the honey is nearly finished!. Only 3 minor things I would change — better toiletries; better or more biscuits and other coffee sachets not just Nescafe. I will be glad to return and I don't say that about many hotels.

Sadly this hotel could do with a complete renovation. Toiletries are a must nowadays and not a measly wee sachet of body/hair wash. The staff however were very helpful and friendly and breakfast was good.

Great local pub. Although we were definitely not locals, we were made to feel at home. Excellent service and great food. Highly recommended!

Good old fashioned drinking house. Didn't eat here but had a good few pints or few good pints. Either way, great place for a beer.

One of the best bars in Edinburgh. Mostly unknown but definitely worth a visit. Beer garden is amazing.

Me and my friends had a lovely weekend in Edinburgh and to top it off we went here for a classic Sunday Roast. I have to say it was one of the best Sunday roast I have ever had, the beef was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. Amazing highly recommend.

The Cumberland is a pleasing traditional pub in the stunning surrounds of Edinburgh’s New Town. A good range of beers (including alcohol free) are available. The pub itself is split up into a series of smaller rooms with chairs, benches and stools. It does feel like the Cumberland has been here as long as the stones it’s built from…

Ruddy good roasts, when they book they ask if you're bringing a dog which to me is the sign of the best kind of pub. Great traditional place with some lovely features. Don't get lost when you go to the toilets.

Good Edinburgh local… Hard to get a seat in Friday after work.

If you want a cosy atmospheric pub look no further. Food; good homely cooking at reasonable prices.

We have our walking group committee meetings in here. The place offer good meeting spaces for small groups. Nice beer selection is a plus. And the staff is very welcoming.

Lunch time food was very disappointing — shame as place and beer are lovely.

Cumberland Hotel, Scotland is located near the Hay Market Railway Station (5mins walk) and 10 mins by bus to town.
The staff are very friendly & welcoming. I will recommend my friends and relatives to lodge over there when they are in the area. Friendly & cozy environment.

Top Drawer Pub, very cosy, fantastic beer garden, can get busy when the suns out, especially on the weekends. The food is extremely good, not just standard pub grub, it's much better. I'm maybe biased, it's my local. Good selection of on tap beer.

Good pub with a beer garden, but most importantly — DOG-FRIENDLY! The entire pub is dog-friendly, not just the spacious beer garden. They had a good selection of beer on tap, but also a couple of good ciders. Beautiful beer garden for a sunny day, but the inside looks like it has plenty of room and lots of little separated corners so it stays cosy.

The room had plenty of space to move around in, the food and drink was great, the facilities was very good, the service was excellent and the staff were very friendly as are the people who stay there. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is having or planning to have a good holiday in the capital of Scotland.

I had one pint which was lovely and cold however the toilet only had two urinals which resulted in a 15 minute queue. I have never had to queue before anywhere!

Adverts state a power shower. It was far from it, it was a dribbling shower head, and then the whole thing came away from wall. Heating on full blast all night, too hot to sleep and no customer service skills at all. No curtains in the room so flickering car lights were all I could see all night. Wont be recommending or returning glad we only paid half price would have been livid at that level of service at full price!

Absolutely awful. Cannot park. Rude staff, and unhelpful. Wished I had booked a IQ. Better staff, cheaper with better rooms etc …

Good position near the center, while on the way to airport. Car parking on premise. Just the nose from the busy road.

Very pleasant small Hotel within easy walking distance of Haymarket area and train station. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast room was spacious, clean with good selection of food, and everyone was attentive, cheerful and did their best to please. Small Bar which looked good but I was only there for 2 nights. My room was small but it was a single with a double bed and en suite and large flat screen TV. I felt comfortable there and would stay there again.

Have just got home from a wonderful weekend in Edinburgh. We stayed here at the Cumberland Hotel, it was clean, staff were fantastic, breakfast was great (hot and not greasy like some places). Only disappointed in the fact that it didn't have a proper restaurant, but will definitely stay again :).

The hotel staff was welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was good and the room was warm and clean. The only thing that significantly bothered us during our stay was the creaking floor noise coming from steps of the neighbors, who settled in a room above us.

Stayed there for 6 days in Sept of 2008 and loved it. Cofortable rooms and larger than I expected. Great location centrally located with bus stops in front of hotel. No need to take a cab to the airport when an airlink stop is right there. Short walk to haymarket. Short bus ride to princes street. Great staff and the food in the morning is very good.
