One of the best i’ve ever stayed in.

Really nice staff and nice food.

The terrace is nice, staff friendly but the food was really not nice at all… sharing platter basic and bland, chips overcooked… shame as we always wanted to try this place. Very disappointed.

This place was wonderful for our family of 6 as a base to explore Edinburgh. We reserved 3 rooms for 2 nights and each was excellent. This hotel is perfectly located to walk everywhere in Edinburgh. The breakfasts were great too. Staff was efficient and kind. Don't hesitate.

It is new and clean and well situated next to Edinburgh playhouse. The signage is small and we walked right past. The shower could have been hotter and there is no door on it which I would have liked. The bes had only the sheet over the mattress and a blanket. It was during the fringe festival so the price was really over priced. I felt like we paid a weeks rate for a single night. If it wasn't for hotel points I would have opted for another place to stay.

Gorgeous and within walking distance of almost everything. Have stayed there twice now. Enjoyed their bar and breakfast.

If anybody is trying to find good deals on hotels visit HoteIRᴀven. Com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere! I really liked the room, very very clean and spacious! 5 stars for the room alone, but I was a little bit disappointed with the breakfast. It was quite basic and the scrambled eggs lacked taste and had a weird texture. It was not very pricey though, so I won't complain too much. On the bright side, the room where it was served was very nice and bright in the morning!

Lovely warm friendly staff. Clean comfortable rooms and a great hearty breakfast. Really lovely overnight stay. Perfect location as we were seeing Wicked at the Playhouse.

My check-in experience defined my stay here. I have a family member who works for Marriott so I was able to get a friends and family discount. When I checked in they assigned me to a room with two single beds (I was traveling by myself) so I asked if I could have a room with one bed, because what would I do with two beds? The girl who checked me in said she couldn’t do anything so she brought out her manager, this skinny ass skeleton about 6 ft tall, who proceeded to stare me right in the eyes and told me “you don’t get our nice rooms because you paid a discounted price”, no apologetic smile or any sort of courteousness. I get it, I paid less than other people did but I mean I’m not staying there for free. I didn’t understand the treatment I got. My sister who works in a similar role treats her customers with so much more respect and dignity, it’s really a shame that Marriott hires someone like this guy to run things. I hope he gets fired because this kind of customer service is just outrageous.

We had to delay our arrival for a few days due to weather difficulties (the beast from the east, if you recall! ) and the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating when I had to call multiple times to rebook our prepaid reservation. I was bummed that the circumstances wouldn’t allow for a refund of one unused night for our two rooms, especially since we were visiting from the USA without the ability to extend our trip after numerous delayed and cancelled flights. We would love to have been able to stay! The rooms were comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was phenomenal and it’s a special treat that my platinum Marriott rewards status covered our daily breakfast with vouchers. The bar and restaurant staff were superbly friendly and helped us get to know the local brews. Overall, great experience, even if we paid a little extra.

Their breakfast is nice. Only thing of note really. Parking was a distance away, and there's no map to get there or address. Just directions from the front desk. Room was comfortable and nice enough. Close to the royal mile.

Enjoying my stay. Nice and clean. Unfortunately I had a small issue of contamination with the breakfast where the beans share the same container as a meat dish. However the staff were friendly enough to give us fresh beans.

Staff were very friendly and professional. Decor throughout whole hotel was of high standard. Although I didn't eat in hotel, others in my party did and report good choice and quality of breakfast. The lounge and bar were frequented and I can confirm an excellent choice was available and enjoyed. Most definitely be back to this fabulous hotel.

I really like this hotel! It's modern and clean and well located for travel around Edinburgh City Centre and beyond. There are good tram links with the airport too. The staff are friendly and breakfast is great. The hotel does not offer room service but has a good restaurant and also a market where you can purchase food to take to your room.

This is a very comfortable hotel in the city centre so close to everything apart from the zoo. The only real downside for me was the bathroom. The shower water pressure is very low and you can tell when someone else in the floor starts using the water. Also the sink is tiny and if you lean over over it to wash your face etc you'll bang your head on the mirror.

Very clean and con relax. Great and nice staff. Courteous as we could not speak English. We will come back.

What a BRILLIANT hotel! So much going for it not only in a brilliant location but clean, very friendly staff and the bedroom was just FAB. Breakfast was superb and we generally felt so at ease in such a wonderful location. We live in the Borders and a short train journey for an overnight stay in the city we couldn't ask for better. Thank you.

Nice, clean rooms, friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast. We were able to check in early which was very appreciated after a long morning of travel. My only complaint is the frosted glass door on the bathroom… It may be a cool, modern feature, but it’s completely transparent and the lock can be “picked” with a piece of paper. Maybe not a big deal for most couples or families, but might be a little weird if traveling with someone you’d rather not see taking a tinkle… or with ornery kids who figure out how to pick the lock.

Stayed over New Years — day 1 — room wasn't made, we got back around 3 in the afternoon, and the room still hadn't been made up, about an hour later they ask if we want our room done up, but of course we're now occupying the room so we put it off till the next day. Day 2 — we go to reception, asking them to prioritise cleaning our room given the previous day we missed it. We came back, and literally all they had done was made the bed, even the trash can hadn't been emptied, no new toiletries, no new towels. Day 3 — try and as for a coffee at the bar to be charged to my room, they say I have to pay up front because the room has no credit, but i'd credited the breakfast the previous day. Given we booked via bookingcom the cost was actually higher than the typical rates… for that we got a room with a view of a carpark complete with glass bottle bank wake up call, poor housekeeping, and a bad attitude… not recommended, terrible value for money.

Centrally located hotel at 500 Mt from Central Station… comfortable rooms breakfast for all tastes…

Underground hotel Experience the hotel Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh is quite central and we have therefore opted for our visit to Edinburgh for this hotel. Unfortunately the location was the only positive thing we can tell about this hotel. It started on our arrival. We arrived at the hotel around 5pm, but despite our late arrival we had our room that we had booked months ago yet not ready for occupancy. We were consoled and sent to the bar with a drink voucher for two people, although we were three with our little son. After further waiting I returned to the reception relatively sour, it had now been 18.00 o'clock to ask for the room. Our room was still not ready. I then insisted and asked for another free room. After a vigorous follow-up on my part, they found another room for us that we could relate to. So far so good. Unfortunately, the negative experience went on the next morning. To call the breakfast buffet offer modest is a big understatement. In addition, croissants were served from the previous day, although the better than punching tools would have been used as pastries. Also, our little son wanted a 3-minute egg for breakfast, which we could order, but unfortunately they did not have an egg cup to serve it. We then built our own egg cup out of cardboard cups. That was a bit tragic then — funny.

Let us book in early after traveling from Inverness and able to get s breakfast great service.

Very well located, within easy walking of everything. Good choice for breakfast. Our room was at the back and it was noisy from before 8am with glass being tipped into a bin wholesale. An end hook on the curtain was unhooked and there was a teabag stain on the carpet — not good for new hotel. I don't think our Gold Elite status conferred any benefits here. 4/5

Meeting here every 2 weeks for a business breakfast has allowed us to really get to know the hotel, the staff and the opportunities this location represents. We are very fortunate to be so well accommodated and looked after. A succession of sales managers has not thwarted either the service or care and attention we are offered. A great team that we're delighted to partner with.

I LOVED this hotel. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was always there to help. The breakfast had lots of choice and got me off to a great start each day. Vladimir in the restaurant was extremely helpful and explained all we could get, things I wouldn't have considered left to my own devices.

Wonderful spot for an Edinburgh base! Lovely rooms, delicious breakfast, top notch service and close to the Royal Mile, museums and shopping. Bar is a warm and friendly spot with good selection for an afternoon refresh or a nightcap. Parking is close by but a little tricky due to major construction in the area.

I could not have chosen better. Steps from the Tram, bus station and Waverly station, the hotel's location and boutique feel has made for an excellent first half of my holiday. The staff has been exceptional and I've felt nothing but respect and hospitality for all that I've interacted with. Kudos to this 6 month hotel and for providing a wonderful room to rest and kick off my day!

Very nice hotel, worth the money. That's just the Breakfast a little disappointed, it was painfully there is nothing.

— Arrived at noon and was promised immediate check in if will agree to a room at the first (partially under the ground level, small windows, street facing) floor. Agreed, but did not get the room earlier. When complained, was told that there are no other rooms available. — The breakfast was awful. Noisy and dirty room, poor selection with rare re-fills, long queue for the coffee, inedible eggs. It was so bad that the second day we ate out despite having BB as part of our reservation — Severely overpriced for what the hotel had to offer — — — — — — + New + Clean rooms + Fairly centrally located.

Hello:) to everyone who is reading this comment right now. I got my bachelor degree in hotel and restaurant management and currently studying at University of Edinburgh for my master degree. After my 5 days stay at this HOTEL I still have NO clue how come this budget hotel got franchised brand from Marriott… with no concierge, no lounge, no lobby bar, no complementary breakfast for memberships, no slippers in your room and housekeeping takes FOREVER. WOOOW! According to my knowledge, courtyard means FOUR star ranking hotel but EXCUSE ME, you telling me this is a COURTYARD? Do you think I have intellectual disability or something? Here comes the most interesting part — BOTH of the front desk clerks laughed when my mother started talking and trying to help me explain our issue. WOOOOooooOOoW! First time hearing ppl talking in second language? Super funny? Where is your manner? I guess your mother never taught you that.

The service is excellent despite them being busy. An excellent spot to stay near several land marks, and good dining on one corner of the hotel.

Good location in a very nice looking building. Only a ten minute walk to Edinburgh Waverly station. Rooms were very clean and fresh while the staff was courteous and kind. Would stay here again.

Rooms are spacious and clean. Location is good. Amenities on the stingy side though.

This is the first time I've stayed in this hotel and it was lovely. The location is great, it's new and the Georgian façade is beautiful. The rooms are well sized and the finish is to a high standard. I was disappointed by the lack of light in the room on a summers evening so I do wonder what it will feel like in the depth of a Scottish winter. The bathroom is modern however the shower was disappointing. The water pressure seemed low and that coupled with the showed head meant the water is concentrated into a very narrow stream. The bathroom sink is also very shallow from the wall and set in from the edge of the cabinet. When you factor in the mirror protruding from the wall you might very well snack your head on the mirror when spitting your toothpaste out. The tattoo on the side of the sink also felt clumsy. Despite the design features I find frustrating I had a comfortable stay and the staff for the most part were friendly.

Very nice and new hotel. One of the best Courtyards I've been too. The location is great and is near old Town and new town. You can easily walk to the Royal Mile and the castle.
