We have stayed here many times. The location is perfect. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Delicious breakfast!

We hold our annual dinner at this hotel and the facilities, staff and food are all first class. Happy to recommend to anyone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Staff always helpful. Food in restaurant is very good. We had breakfast and dinner and everything was freshly cooked. Room was very clean and bed was comfy. Definitely would stay here again.

I stayed here for one night as my boyfriend had took me away for few days and we stayed at a differnt hotel everynight. This was my last night in scotland and what a beautiful place to stay. Reception staff was lovely. ❤

1000% I would definitely recommend this hotel. Every member of staff has been really pleasant & chatty. Rooms are really clean and good standard. Food we had for breakfast was gorgeous. Its the 2nd time we've stayed here, and will certainly be staying again in the future 😁

Only here for one night, on a tour, hotel very clean staff friendly and helpful on arrival and during our stay, the restaurant was nice, food very good.

100% yes had the best time here. Lovely rooms, great, really helpful front of house staff & an excellent location into the city & bus routes! Bus stops right outside and takes you to portobello beach.

From start to finish the staff went above and beyond and were just amazing! Everyone was so friendly and helpful and really made our stay one to remember. This was our first visit to an Apex in Edinburgh and we will definitely be back! Thank you all so much for a lovely visit! You are all working so hard and we appreciate it so much.

Love having our north team meetings at the apex. It is so close to the station, literally a couple of minutes away, and there is always a good supply of drinks and snacks. The rooms are spacious too.

Great hotel for the price. Amazing location, decently large rooms, clean and what you'd expect from any top hotel. Staff very friendly. And they gave lovely fresh milk everyday free!

Our room was on some third floor just near the main road. Room was big and good for family of three. Nice bathroom. Good quality products were given in the bathroom. Hotel was very neat and clean. Staff was very friendly. However, some places were not fit for baby pram, so we had to carry it by lifting with our hands. Had a wonderful sleep. The second bed was not comfortable. The location, cleanliness and staff is the best. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 3 nights in the city double and it was a great stay. We had a lovely welcome and a good sized room. Complimentary water daily along with tea and coffee. The Sauna and steam room were comfortable with a nice relaxing swimming pool. Amazing location just walking distance from all major sites. Overall a really wonderful stay.

The front desk staff were lovely and wished her happy birthday and had left a note and sweets for her in the room. The service throughout the hotel was excellent — friendly and professional. Kym who served us breakfast in the mornings deserves a special mention. She has such a warm and welcoming manner that makes you feel she's really pleased to see you. By the time we left after the second morning it felt like we were leaving a friend! The room was a standard size, very tastefully decorated and perfectly clean and well maintained. The spa was nice and is available to all guests staying at the hotel. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again and recommend it to others.

Nice hotel well located. Room cleaning very efficient, spa and pool well attended (has the best showers). Our room could of done with a spruce up, lick of paint, etc. Breakfast good, but evening meal slow and quality of burger not the best. Would return on my next visit to Edinburgh.

Exceptional service and beautiful hotel, we were wowed by this place although we were there for a short stay. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Edinburgh for a few days. It’s a lovely place to relax and rest while traveling! Exceptional and worth it! Hope to return Donna for a longer stay.

A comfortable bed. After a long day of walking around Edinburgh and Stirling you are thankful to get to the hotel and have the bed so comfortable.

Very welcoming, room more than potable, even super cozy. On the other hand, a lot of noise at night.

Major construction work going on over the road which we weren't warned about. They start at 7:30 and continues to 5:30 and will wake you up. Additionally the changing rooms round the pool area are being worked on too so there is no changing facilities available if you want to use the pool. Neither thing was advised by the hotel either prior to booking or at check-in. When these issues were raised the person on reception had absolutely no interest. This is our second time at this hotel and will more than likely be our last.

I was there for the spa what was nice, a but small. With sauna, steam room and a warm pool. I have to say if you don't keep moving it's a bit cold, but was a really cold day too. They provide you with towels and shampoo but no flip flops.

Nice hotel, staff at the level. Spa/Hammam/swimming pool accessible all day and very well equipped. Bedding too soft for my taste (Pb of Back).

Good hotel next to the Calton Hill, sympathetic to the sunset ☀

Fantastic hotel. Staff are friendly, rooms clean and very very convenient for tourists. If you're visiting Edinburgh for the first time this hotel is perfectly situated as you're walking distance from most attractions in the city. If not you can connect fairly easily by train, tram, bus or even cab. Only downside is there is no parking at the hotel. Also if you're visiting Scotland for the first time especially in winter. Bring heavy clothing. It's cold as hell in Scotland. Enjoy take a camera.

The rooms were lovely as were the front of house staff. The bar staff on shift for the two nghts we stayed spoke very little English which made it difficult when asking for specific drinks or food. We stayed on the tenth floor and the views over the city and beyond were phenomenal. I really liked the floor to ceiling windows in the bathroom which meant you could admire the view from the bath. It is an excellent hotel in a great location for shopping, eating and drinking and close to the Christmas market. I would have given 5 stars if it hadn't been for the bar staff issues but I assume that if it was another time of the year this wouldn't have been a problem. All in all a good place to stay.

It's very convenient to go everywhere for attractions in walking distance except the botanic garden. It's very close to the train station and there's a way to the hotel without going out to the streets. They provide complimentary bottles of still or sparkling water so we always carry some when we're out. The staff is very helpful too, so I asked them how to get to the attractions and restaurants. Overall, the location is the best choice for this hotel. The only thing I feel odd is that I didn't see any ventilation in the bathroom.

A very good hotel! Bed is amazingly comfortable and large. The food is of good quality. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. I wish the pool was open longer for the night people. But I understand that the staff needs to go home!

Very good location.

I'm really pretty happy with the hotel except for a few small things. The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly but for a long stay it'll there are a few minor annoyances. The first is that the mini fridges have abut enough space for 6 cans of soda and nothing else. Another is that there isn't a microwave. Really is annoying to not have a heating device. But, pretty decent overall.

Recent stay at the Apex Waterloo was nice and relaxing, and Earl the Rubber Duckie made my day. The room was cleaned and cozy. Location was perfect and hotel staff were nice, understanding and ready too help. Given that two large tour groups were checking in at the same time my group was, I would've understood if the reception staff were a little stressed. However, if they were, I never knew or saw it. Outstanding!

Loved the hotel; very quiet and spacious and in a great location. The staff is professional and attentive. Nicked one star for the state of the tile in the shower, but the accomodations were otherwise wonderful.

Super helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast and a nice, relaxing pool and steam room. Rooms are great and even though there a building demolition going on outside, we can barely hear it.

Partner and I had the wine n dine menu for £40 and have to say it was delicious and well worth it. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was lovely and we can't wait to return.

Hotel was very clean and the staff was great! They were all willing to answer any questions we had and give us directions to wherever we wanted to go. My daughter enjoyed the pool as well.

I will definitely stay here again. We stayed 6 non-stop sequential days, and every time we came back from outside tour, they upgraded our room free. They also boarded our big suitcases for free. Breakfast, dinner pretty good. Big bathtubs, glass showers. Some rooms have great views.

Central and convenient for visiting Edinburgh.

Edgy modern transformation of an older classic building in Edinburgh. Watch out at breakfast time for a crush caused by big coach parties. Around 9am there may be a wait for a table. Simple, and affordable meal choices. We had a m light meal one night, nicely cooked, healthy choices available. Greatt, quiet room with A/C, looking out onto a back street. Curtains don't fit well at the sides so there is a fair amount of light leakage. Huge shower and bath as well in a modern bathroom. Big, modern, bar area alongside reception.

Really great hotel. Lovely rooms that are clean, well equipped and comfortable. Great night's sleep as well. Staff are attentive and friendly. Location is really convenient, with the train station over the road.

It's a nice hotel. But the lack of vegetarian options on the room service menu really disappointed me and keeps me from booking with them again.

Beautiful hotel. We took the airport shuttle for around 8 pounds round trip. Take it to the last stop and walk 3 minutes to hotel and is that same bus stop where you could take the hop on hop off bus. There is places to eat right by the hotel. We walk for 15 minutes from the hotel to the Palace and across is our Dynamic Earth and also Aurthurs Seat. We also took a city bus around the corner from the hotel to the Royal Yatch Britania. Hotel is in a great location if we there again I will stay at the Apex hotel. Don't take a taxi to hotel shuttle is cheaper and it drops you about 3 blocks away from hotel.

Entered through the incorrect door but politely pointed to the correct one. Nicely presented staff. Excellent coffee provision. Lunch was also palatable.

Staying for four nights at this hotel and it's superb, rooms are lovely and spacious the facilities are 1st class, but the bar staff are miserable and make you not want to be in the bar. What a shame as the front desk couldn't be more helpful. Having a great time but that one thing as took the shine off the trip.

Hotel located at the top for the city tour. I stayed 4 nights at the end of July in a superior room on the upper floors, with large windows on two sides of the room; Clean, tidy and well organized. Breakfast adequate, but nothing special. Maybe the price is not cheap, but definitely a hotel where I would stay.

The hotel was perfect for me and my girlfriend it made our stay in Edinburgh extra special. The bed was big and the bathroom was lovely. The staff were friendly and could not do enough for us. Definitely staying back next time we visit Edinburgh.

I visited the restaurant here as part of a pre-theatre dinner out. It's conveniently located close to Edinburgh's iconic Playhouse theatre but not so close as you have a dinning room full of theatre goers. In fact the hotel is located right at the foot of Princes St but seems almost forgotten. The evening of my visit was very quiet, as such we got the full attention of all the staff who even brought out little tasters of various options on the menu in between our courses. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very relaxed. We paired our choices with a beautiful Italian Pinot Grigio. I will definitely return again — its perfect if you enjoy your dinner with plenty of space for good conversation.

We would stay again in a heartbeat. Outstanding staff, very friendly, couldn't have been more helpful. Ate in Elliot's on the Saturday night with delicious food at a surprisingly affordable price for the sheer quality. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and the bed was a dream. Even suffered through an 11pm fire-alarm and I couldn't fault them. Just wish I'd had time to use the leisure facilities, I'm sure they'd have impressed as well. Brilliant location at the top of Princes Street, just a five minute walk to the Royal Mile and all of a few footsteps to Waverley Station.

Absolutely gorgeous place. The staff couldn't be nicer and the room service breakfast was spot on. The bed was amazingly comfy (and MASSIVE — I'm talking starfishing size) as was the shower. Room was a little on the small side for the money but stupid little things like free rubber ducks made up for it.

Great hotel near the Center. I must reiterate that it is a very good hotel and that is located in a great location from which you can reach by walking all points of interest in the historic centre.

Good hotel, excellent location.

It's probably more of a 4.5* rather than a 4* well that's the quality of the service anyway. A beautifully well designed decor greets you as well as friendly smiley staff always happy to help however fussy you are. (We had to change rooms twice due to our fussing but they didn't bat an eyelid. Exceptional). Room cosy and all areas make you feel your not imposing and generally all guests feel part of a large family. Best breskfast ever (try the salmon omelette), and amazing barstaff. Love this place, didn't want to leave.

We were transfered to apex waterloo from apex international as they had over booked, We were disappointed as all of our plans had been made around staying in the international as it was close to the castle, Mary kings close etc, however we couldnt have been more pleased with the Waterloo hotel and location We were upgraded to a superior room 845 which was nice however the bathroom didnt have a bath only a shower or any heating in the bathroom but we made use of the complementary bathrooms and had the heating on full in the bedroom. Breakfast was the best weve had good quality food excellant service and served piping hot, however one resident decided to have breakfast in her pyjamas for a 4 star hotel this did not impress us at all however we will return in the near future.
