“Free parking” = find a free place in street nearby. Toilet and shower was not attached to room but cross the hall. Caretaker was not having her best day I guess. Room was very small, poorly designed and bed was too old and uncomfortable. No air conditioner, busy noisy street in front of house. No breakfast. Totally overpriced.

Very disappointing stay, the furnishing was tired and tatty and obviously not well cleaned. Compared to all the other 3 star accomodation we have had in Scotland this is the worst.

Good sized bedroom and bathroom, fab value for the money we spent (£226 for 6 nights including a full weekend) A little walk away from the city centre but quiet location. Couldn't adjust the temperature of the heating in the room and the bathroom floor and mattress could do with being replaced. Cosy little guest house that I'd definitely stay in again and recommend to others.

Great location, private off-street parking, comfortable and well equipped, expertly managed — really can't fault this real find.

Good place. Closer to bus stop. But little far from the station where most of the tourist buses are available.

Great location, bus right outside, 10 minutes to city centre. Lovely staff, big clean room & ensuite. Suited our needs.

Spotlessly clean, lovely big rooms and really comfy, parking a bit awkward as its round the back with no back door access.

Basic accommodation, clean but dated, had to leave room and go through entrance lobby to get to bathroom!

This place was not up to the mark. Room heater was not working we called the number which was written there, that person told us that some will help you in few mins. But we were waiting no one turned up then again we called him, he said she will be there any mins but no one came. We could not sleep whole night. In morning when we complain about that room heater, she said you have to turn on, how can we know that, even we called 5, 6 times no one suggest us any thing. They took the full amount, no compansation was given to us. It was really very bad experience with this Thornfield guest house.

Quiet place to stay. Great location and the room was as pictured; bigger than it looks. Wi-Fi was fast and solid. Parking was a bit difficult to manage. Room was fairly clean, as was linen. The bed was ok but pillows were quite lacking: very thin and uncomfortable.

Friendly, helpful staff. Spacious, clean room. Wasn't keen on the separate bathroom off the foyer but it was fine. About a half hour walk to the centre but the bus stops practically outside, so convenient. Basic but functional.

Excellent stay and treatment, very welcoming and the receptionist very friendly os near the center and there is bus and taxi at the door.
