Probably the best beer garden in Edinburgh. South facing garden that’s well designed and very clean! A great way to unwind with good food a cold beverage, after walking up authors seat, which is a stone throw away! The staff have always been super friendly and always make the dining experience a joy! Thanks to all the staff at Salisbury Arms!

An outstanding full vegan menu (including dessert! ), and friendly staff to boot. Reasonable prices and a great atmosphere. The only weird aspect was the live music, which didn't fit the vibe of the restaurant and made conversation difficult.

Pleasant gastropub with nice lounge area and outside seating. Good quality beers and ciders and cocktails. The indoor are is very nicely decorated place to have a drink and nibbles after walking in the queens park or just to stop on the way home. Very middle class.

I went here about a year ago and wasn't that impressed, but recently went back for the Sunday lunch and really enjoyed it, so felt a revised review was in order! I had the box-baked Camembert to share as a starter, wasn't cheap but was excellent (the topping, chutney and garlic-butter covered dough sticks really made it). For my main I had the trio of roasts, which was excellently presented and had a hearty portion of chicken, beef and pork. It's a nice place inside, bright and spacious and decorated to a high standard. I'd recommend it for special occasions, there's quite a few seating options for larger groups too.

There is a lot of hype about this place. But I dont feel it lives up to the name. Servers were not friendly and the roast beef was covered in fat not rendered down. I was expecting a lot more for what I was paying. The decor is very nice though.

Good parking facilities. Excellent choice of beers, wines and spirits. Good choice of meals. Prices are reasonable. Excellent service.

A really decent pub with very relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. Prices are decent too and they offer a variety of cocktails and mocktails.

Lovely decor. Great place to either go solo, with family or with friends. The free parking is a great bonus.

Pretty bad experience. We were a party of 4. Didn't have 2 starters or the fish and chips. Brought wrong order to one then had run out for a replacement. Brought a replacement (We asked for anything that was quick as the rest were nearly finished) — they brought fish and chips. One of us had pasta that wasn't cooked. Place was busy and everyone else seemed happy so might just have been a series of unfortunate events. They didn't charge us for the food which was pretty decent. Doubt we would return though.

The menu is not very explicit, it is very good to speak English… otherwise very good table with central chimney.

The building itself is beautiful, stunningly decorated too. Sadly the food was a long wait in coming out the potions were small in comparison the higher price. No drinks were offered after our initial order being taken. The waitress though was lovely.

Really beautiful bar with a wonderful staff. Everyone is so friendly. You can choose table service or order food at the bar. The food is a bit pricey, and I had to slice my pizza myself. I also found it odd that someone would put whole hazelnuts on a pizza. Regardless, it was really yummy. Also recommend the burger and chips.

Came in for lunch. Interior is quite nice, warm and has a nice bar area. Ordered as part of the set lunch menu. A little wait for the food. Can't really go wrong with a burger and chips but the chicken was a little dry and some of the pots holding sauces had a couple of chips and cracks. Apple and blackberry crumble was quite disappointing, most of the filling was reduced to a very sweet liquid with only seeds remaining. With drinks, there was a nice selection available but most of them were made up of large ice cubes. Overall, it was okay. Prices are quite reasonable with the set lunch and quality of the food was mediocre. Table service is with reservations and not sitting in the bar area, where you make orders at the bar.

Been a few times and thought the service was terribly slow. But Friday night was much improved. Food was nice.

Had our Christmas night out. The food was great tge staff were efficient but not in your face all the time. Cocktails were lovely and a great atmosphere. Will be back as soon so possible to enjoy the non festive menu. Xx thanks guys.

Ate here several times during a one week stay in Edinburgh; reliable excellent service, good food, and great ambiance. A good place to meet and dine with friends.

Had a lovely birthday lunch here and the good and service were excellent. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, dog and kid friendly. Would highly recommend. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will be back. Thanks to all.

This is a beautiful and luminous place, located opposite to the Royal Commonwealth Pool. Spacious, with a cool vibe deco and ambience, the Salisbury Arms has a very interesting gastro-pub menu. We booked a table for 4 on Sunday, 1 pm. Front of house and our two waitresses were friendly and efficient. As starters, we had the Lebanese-style Beef Kabobs and the Crispy Karaaga Chicken to share, very tasty indeed. As mains, I got the Sunday Roast Lamb Rump with an empty Yorkshire pudding with buttered kale goose fat roasted potatoes and stuffing wrapped in bacon. Even though my main course was flavoursome and properly cooked, neither of the stuffing was wrapped in bacon and the kale was stone cold. … Problem was that I realised the missing bacon after eating the whole lot and re-reading the menu… my bad… My friends got the Buttermilk Southern Fried Chicken with nice and crispy sweet potato fries and spicy ‘nduja sausage, Lobster & Devon Crab fishcakes with salad & a child burger with chips… giving almost full marks’ final verdict. When pudding time came, we got the Melting golden chocolate bomb and the Chocolate Brownie (child portion) a 10/10 treat. All in all, it had been a pleasant experience. On the plus side: Friendly and cool ambience. Nice decoration, spacious and luminous interiors. Food was definitely above average. Good and friendly service. Good for groups and families.

Friendly staff, good atmosphere, a large group of us had a buffet put on and the food was very tasty (only downside was that the individual plates were a tad small! )

Last minute choice for dinner after visiting Holyrood Palace & Leith Walk. Loved bar area, ability to sit, order drinks & dinner menu. Food great, options wide variety. Service good!

Yummy Sunday roast and lovely setting in both the restaurant and bar section which have the same menu available. We visit as a group and keep coming back whenever we visit the city, highly recommended.

Great food in a nice setting. Good atmosphere. We were seated next to a cetral fireplace.

Up scale pub/restaurant. Not a pub but closer to North American restaurant. Food was good and priced a little higher than pub food but good quality. Good service, friendly and attentive. Would recommend for a quite dinner with friends.

Had such a lovely time for Sunday roast. The staff are so warm and helpful. Food was on point with flavor and preparedness. And the entire decor is absolutely breathtaking.
