Fab location. Great place to stay.

We stayed here over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it! The apartment was so clean and modern — I’d highly recommend. Communication and price was outstanding.

Stayed at castle apartments for the weekend was absolutely fantastic. The apartment was fabulous beautifully decorated and very clean had everything you would want. Fabulous views of the castle. I highly recommend staying here for a staycation. Will definitely be going back again in the very near future. 5 stars from me.

Had a staycation in Castletown and can’t recommend Castle Apartments highly enough. The apartment was so spacious and beautiful along with the stunning views of the Castle and harbour. Perfect location and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks guys!

Friends visiting the Island stayed for a weekend. Everyone was impressed (including myself) with the accommodation. Perfect location, modern, nearby parking, beautiful views… (The Canadians love a castle). Management couldn’t be more helpful. Would recommend.

Interesting castle. Lots of history and lots of stairs. The flag tower is closed at the moment (2018) but we were told it should reopen next season.

Great afternoon out with my 6 yearold. He loved exploring all the different rooms and climbing to the very top to be 'king of the castle' if only for 2 minutes! :)

A very good castle for those interested in traditional design, it's a great example of how castles develop and has some great info lying about, staff were mostly freindly but were a little rude when it came from closing time.

What a great location. Well worth a visit if you visit the island and have time.

We enjoy castles in all states of repair. Castle Rushen had good self guided tour.

We’ve had a fab staycation at Castle Apartments! Right in the centre of the town, with so much to do over the weekend Bed is super comfy and kids loved the sofa bed! Heated bathroom was a nice touch and the terrace was lovely to chill out on! We will be back again, thank you.

Isle of Man really great to see and make the whole island tour as far as possible. Everything is good they are nothing to throw away.!

This is a great castle to look around and learn of its history. The rooms are re-created to give you an idea of how it used to look.

A Nice Place To Visit We visited Douglas in a small holiday so for one day we went outside of the city to see other places. And Castle Rushen was a very nice stop for a couple of hours. The place is accessible by public transport, not too far from Douglas and not too big, not too small itself. It is a very nice page of history and discovered here nice things about Isle of Man history (and not only).

The castle is a wonderful place for all ages it's a very fun experience and educational there are lots of steps so would not be good for anyone with a walking impediment I live 10 minutes from the castle and I have been there countless times with my family and I still enjoy going.

A very well preserved castle situated in the historic old capital of the isle of man. Well worth a visit. Wonderful walks in all directions with magnificent views. There is a Costa near the castle entrance which sits on the edge of the harbour.

Visited the Castle during the Isle of Man TT races in May/June 2017. Well worth a visit. Travelers are urged to attend the IOM Museum in Douglas before visiting the Castles. This gives you the history and time frames before visiting the Castle, you will then enjoy the Island, Castles, Towns and general tourist places mush more. Castle Rushen is a must!

Fun day out with the family. I would advise waiting until the TT season and buying a national heritage badge for £10 to get in all of the sites for free.

Very cool place! Incredible history, wonderful views, access to the entire castle, wonderful guides and staff. The into movies and some of the exhibits are a bit dated, but they really do paint the picture of the history and life in and around the castle. This is a must-see when you're on isle of man!

I've been to the castle many times in my life, both inside and out of school, and I still love that feeling of exploring this amazing castle. The recreations of historical usage has been incredibly helpful in my current history coursework!

We had a good day out at the castle. Very interesting and half of it was mainly a prison. I do think that they could try and put in some games for the younger children to get them more involved.

Very friendly staff and lots of interesting facts across the castle for you to learn more about the local history. A perfect place to visit.

The start is a little barren and lots of spiral stairs but once you are at the top it's great. Much better rooms on the way down too. Castle is in great condition considering it's age!

Beautiful preserved castle well worth a visit but not dog friendly.

Really well kept castle in the middle of Castletown. Nice guy met us as we walked in and gave us a brief description of the castle and explained how to get round. A lot of stairs to climb, but views from the top on a sunny day were amazing. Most rooms contain a description of what it used to be used for and some of them are set up with figurines and props to demonstrate. Best moment for me was learning the origins of the House of Keys. We used our National Trust cards to get free entry too!

Excellent castle. Lots to see and good use of information boards. There are lots of stairs and passageways but much more informative than the castle at Peel. Buy a tourist pass for better value.

Brilliant activity in this wonderfully preserved and restored castle; this is our second visit, the kids loved it so much. The staff are lovely and super well informed on the castle's history. Pity that the talking mannequins weren't there this time, I hope it's only for cleaning.

Under cooked food and no apology or refund offered. Avoid the food but the place and drink are ok.

Friendly staff but poor quality food. My chicken was incredibly dry and over cooked, the green salad was "wilted"! Not what I expected given the relatively expensive price for pub food.

Great access to most of the castle, views over all of their areas. Dungeon so dark and sparse that my family would live for me to be locked up there Well worth a visit!

Visited in August 2016 and found it an amazing place. Absolutely bursting with information about the history of the castle itself and the Isle of Man. This is a real must-see if you are visiting the island! I love castles, but, although fairly small, this is probably the best I have visited!

My favourite castle! Very well preserved its like stepping back in time! The staff are lovely and the admission price is great! No it isn't pram friendly because it is an ancient castle and it wasn't an issue back then but you can leave the pram down near the shop but I suggest a baby carrier.

Excellent value, for money. Great displays to keep all ages entertained. If only they continued to use it as a prison instead of the luxury they get now.

Great chocolate pudding, apple pie and strong coffee. Modern and traditional interior. Lovely service.
