Beautiful castle & views. Owner/manager very attentive to guests’ requirements & nothing too much trouble. We would text him with a request & it would be done within minutes. Breakfast great. Excellent hotel in older style. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. I strongly recommend this hotel but not for kids.

Very nice hotel. Single room on the 2nd floor has fantastic view of the sea (not the turret room). 10 min walk from city center with a lovely sandy beach and train station. Bus stop right outside the property. Great service, friendly and attentive staff. Very tasty cooked breakfast. Bar all day and dinner in the lounge or conservatory in the evening. Didn't try but the menu looked very interesting. Room itself clean and cozy. Good size bathroom. Bed very comfortable, had a good night sleep.

Booked up last minute just looking for a bed for the night but what a stroke of luck. Stunning views of the bay, beautiful building with classic interior very sensitively restored. Food was great and staff extremely helpful. Can't fault it.

A beautiful place. Excellent attention, whether from his re-septionist, as much as his staff, not to mention Simons, the cheff who, like the largest, prepared us a vegetable rice, of his authorship, despite having closed the kitchen. That he was there to eat the table. Thank you! The place has a magic and beauty that few hotels own. More sea or city views from the rooms or the dining room or breakfast bar are very good. The rooms are very comfortable, they are nice and the visits barbaric. Our folding bikes (Brompton) did not enter comfortably. They were very friendly with our bikes. Recommended 100%.

Nice hotel rooms, clean comfortable, shower was terrible, nice staff, nice views of coast. Good breakfast. Only a short but nice walk from town.

It is a nice little hotel with friendly staff. Could do with a few extras. Our room was comfortable and a good size however A shelf to put your toiletries on in the bathroom would have been handy, a fan in the room is badly needed (no air con, so was an uncomfortable night being too hot to sleep) and black out blinds (the thin curtains let in too much light that after four in the morning made it difficult to sleep. ) we enjoyed our breakfast (catered well for vegetarians).

Room clean and with sea and even sunset view. Restaurant with same view and delicious food. Parking directly in front of the door.

Superb hotel. My partner and I stayed here August 2017, we absolutely loved it. We especially liked the uniqueness of the hotel build and room itself, friendly owners/staff, great food, service and view. The photos I've uploaded are of the castle, the view from the balcony and our delicious breakfast. Wonderful stay, will definitely book again sometime.

Absolutely exceptional. The service was unquestionable. We didn’t need to ask for anything. Our one night stay was brilliant. The lady in charge was friendly and so organised. As was the waiter/ barman during our evening meal. Would highly recommend, we will be staying there again.

An unusual building with friendly staff. We had a lovely welcome, with a mini tour of the hotel, and were told the history of the building. The views out to sea are stunning. The rooms are ok, but the bedroom room furniture, whilst modern and functional, looks a little cheap for such a lovely building. Wi-Fi is not available throughout the hotel, only in public areas and some rooms. The breakfast was good.

We stayed for three nights in room 10 overlooking the sea, it was a lovely room. The staff were excellent, the food was very good. Lovely full English for breakfast and an excellent al la carte evening menu. Would recommend it to anyone.

I went here for a birthday dinner and the staff couldn't have been more hospitable or welcoming! The views were stunning, and the hosts went the extra mile to make our dinner feel extra special. I would highly recommend for both a romantic meal and to stay at their hotel.

Lovely place to stay about 15 minutes walk from the beach great views over the sea. 1 downfall is the wind noise coming through the windows keeps you awake at night.

Hotel/Restaurant set above the sea with nice views. Very expensive for what you get on your plate, over £20 for an 8oz sirloin with literally a handful of chips which should be twice cooked at least imo. My girlfriends steak was a little overdone too. Otherwise, food was nice, but not nice enough for the money. Parking can be a squeeze too.

Quirky ròoms are old and dated, great view over the bay, food is ok.

Bed and room very comfortable … breakfast was great. Staff very good … didn't eat in restaurant as where meeting friends for meal but smelt very good. Thank you we will be back x.

Went here to celebrate my partners 30th, room was pleasant and view was nice however his steak was 75% fat, we raised this issue with the manager and he was very unhelpful and very rude and saying thats how its served even though my steak had only a small portion of fat on it and I ended up giving half of mine to my parter as he has hardly any steak to eat. Over priced for what was served and customer service was awful.

Stayed here for one night, this place had some great history, wont tell you what that is you will need to stay here and find out yourself, the owners were very nice and polite and made the effort for you to enjoy their lovely abode, great view over the beach, and a lovely sunroom eating area which I enjoyed the food it was superb, and so was breakfast, beds were soft as well. Good parking. Thoroughly enjoyed this stay.

Superb place to stay had my honeymoon there 2014 then our 1st anniversary & just booked this years great views & rooms tasty breakfast & friendly staff.

Far too expensive for what you get, £112 per night for a mediocre hotel and mediocre breakfast, I would not recommend at all.

Beautiful hotel. Staff were polite and pleasant. From our room we had a view of the sea and the sunset. If you catch the sunset from this place it is stunning. Would definitely go there again.

A A stunning Castle get away, just outside of Barmouth. Gorgeous decor upon entrance into the foyer. Sweeping staircase up to lovely vintage style rooms. Some with the view of the sea and beach and others with mountain views. The sun setting and rising over the beach make for one magical stay at this beautiful place. Friendly and helpful staff add to the ambience. Breakfast looking out over the sea with a loved one makes a dream of a time.
