Beautiful setting on the banks of the river Dee. Looking across the river to Peterculter golf course. Historic building with modern but sympathetic extensions. Fantastic venue for a wedding. Food is excellent and staff are extremely polite and very helpful.

Attended a wedding at the hotel. It is in a lovely setting. The food served for the wedding was very good. Stayed in the lodge which is the more basic accomodation the hotel has to offer but for the money these were very good value. You get breakfast in the main hotel and this was excellent. When the hotel was setting the main function room up in-between the meal and evening and prior to the ceremony, all the guests were placed in the small bar area with very little seating. They would benefit from an area where the less able to stand for periods of time could get a seat.

Love the place. The room was with the lake view, so I enjoyed it even more. Good food and quite good wine selection.

Beautiful location. Wedding guest, haven't experienced a stay. But everything for the wedding from a guests perspective was organised very well.

We went for mother's day afternoon tea and both the quality of the food and the service we got were brilliant. There was a good selection of cakes and the lady who served us came over regularly for tea refills, but not so frequently that it disturbed us.

Maryculter House Hotel is based round an old fortified house on an ancient Templar site. The resident's lounge is the old hall of the house. It's on the south bank of the Dee, and is a great place to spend a few quiet days. Staff are unfailingly friendly and welcoming, and the food is good too. Comfortable bedrooms, many of which look out over the Dee to Peterculter Golf Course. This was our second visit, and it confirmed our first good impressions.

Great hotel to stay in for just a break or for fishing parties, we stayed last year just for pleasure and this year for fishing. Food is delicious, staff are fantastic. Highly recommend.

The room was nice enough and the hotel was in a scenic location, but I simply couldn't stomach the number of spiders and cobwebs in the room. My wife hates spiders and I literally had to catch 4 straight off after entering the room. I understand that these little blighters can appear anywhere, but to such an extent seemed a bit strange. Also, how much effort does it take to clean up some obvious cobwebs?! Poor show cleaners!

Disappointing as it is marketed as an upper end hotel. I had to report a problem with the shower controls that almost made it unusable. The room also had spots/downlighters that were so poorly fitted you could see pencil marks on the ceiling and some hanging loose. Food is only ok, again you expect better given how it is marketed. Staff are excellent and location is stunning but overall it could be so much better.

From the moment you walk in until the time you leave you know you are a prime hotel. All the staff are attentive and friendly with the right balance of personal and professional service. This is a really beautiful hotel in stunning grounds. Easy to get to. I would highly recommend to anyone that you visit this hotel. Be Happy.

Excellent. Very high standard of service from all of the staff and a good selection of well priced meals to choose from in the restaurant (including the buffet style breakfast). Very comfortable room with good view over the nearby river and golf course. Good courtesy Wi-Fi — but somewhat dodgy mobile phone reception in the bedroom! Vodafone and O2 not very good but T-Mobile OK. Excellent car parking arrangements. All in all a very good experience.

Lovely setting for a hotel and a real Scottish feel inside. Look forward to returning again.

Attended Maryculter House Hotel for a wedding. The venue was up to a high standard, in a lovely location with beautiful views of the river. Food was lovely and rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were attentive and happy to help at all times.

Was here for a wedding and stayed overnight. Lovely setting good staff. Food was excellent. The breakfast the following day was really good as well. We had a family room plus a adjoining room plenty room and done to a good standard.

Great hotel amazing location and views. Rooms large spacious and well decorated. Staff all very friendly attentive and courteous couldn't fault it.

Our room was overlooking the river and Golf course on the opposite bank. The room was well presented, the breakfast was lovely and the girl on reception deserves a special mention as she was so very helpful. All In all it was a great break away and we will definitely be back.

Great location and hotel. Beautiful views and excellent staff. Only thing what would be better is if they asked whether you wanted a bath in the room and the room we were in started to show its age a bit. The wallpaper was starting to peel. Would recommend however. Great events and an extremely quite hotel. Look forward to our next stay.

We came here for a wedding, the venue is fantastic! Our room, despite being advertised as basic, was comfy and spacious with two TVs! The views of the River Dee from the bar and patio area are superb. The food for the wedding breakfast was excellent and beautifully presented and served. The only slight negative for me was a somewhat limited breakfast menu. Although a cooked breakfast is available it's self service bacon, sausages etc. It would have been nice to have a few more options. All in all a fantastic, well staffed venue. If you do visit be sure to check out the original 12th century residents lounge, it's worth the visit alone!

Went to a wedding here. Food and service was great.

Cosy, friendly with great character dating back to 1225 — some really tasty nosh too. Would stay again and thoroughly recommend without any hesitation.

Stayed for one night dinner, bed & breakfast for a murder mystery event. Dinner was good and the breakfast was excellent. The room was large and comfortable but was a little tired and could do with a refresh.

We stayed at this hotel, two nights during our honeymoon in Scotland.
A really nice hotel particularly with regard to its public areas: the lounge room takes your breath away! It seems to go back in time to the middle ages given the care with which it is decorated!
The bar where we ate, very good by the way, is really lovely and pours on the river side offering spectacular views.
The staff were really knowledgeable, attentive and courteous predisposing us immediately very well for your stay.
Only the room, a bit small, proved in the media: everything else has abundantly surpassed.
For information, the Wi-Fi takes only hiccup in the bar and lounge room.
The green areas are present and are also very extensive given that to get to the hotel through a side street in the middle of a park where we also met several hares.
The breakfast is plentiful, very good and has the classic type (the scrambled eggs are delicious! )
For dinner, the menu is fixed still offers a decent variety for short stays.
Definitely recommended.

Fantastic hotel and venue.

Just recently had my daughters wedding in the Templers. Stayed the night. Could not fault the location or the service. Really friendly and the place is just so full of history and charm. Will definitely be going back again.

5 of us stayed at Lewisville, while attending a wedding in Maryculter. We wanted to change for the wedding at Lewisville, and this appeared not cause Shonagh and her staff any problem. Nice, clean, comfortable rooms and as good a Scottish breakfast as you could wish for. Good price. Highly recommended Sandra.

One night stay in Room 213 — very nice big room in older part of the hotel. Well decorated, clean and nice, big bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. Recommended.
