Had a great night for my daughters 18th Birthday. Food was amazing as always and James made sure we were looked after brilliantly and had us laughing all night.

We recently visited Uplawmoor hotel for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. We had a table for 19 including kids and the staff were super helpful throughout. The food and service was amazing, we will 100% be back!

Staff were really friendly, the covid measures kept me feeling safe and the food was delicious.

Was there today for a wee family Hogmany lunch. Food was delicious. Staff are so friendly. Also plenty of room as I know alot of people are worried about space due to covid. Will be back soon.

Thanks to everyone at the Uplawmoor hotel for our first night out last Saturday. We had a great time in the beer garden followed by a wonderful meal. The staff were extremely attentive. Would highly recommend!

We visited today for an Afternoon Tea and it was by far the best we've had. Sandwiches were so tasty and cakes and scones were amazing. Lovely staff and everyone adhering to social distancing. Main menu looked great too. Well worth a visit.

My husband and I had our wedding day at the uplawmoor hotel just this past Saturday 01/02/2020. From our first enquiry to the big day we can't fault the staff. The owner Emma was fantastic and really informative and friendly answering all the questions we had and tweaking the schedule to suit us. We also met other staff along the planning process and must say they were all helpful and friendly. We would like to personally thank Yvonne who helped with the set up the night before and was on hand all day for everything we required. She was great thinking of things we hadn't even thought of and kept delicate items safe. All in all we had the best wedding day we could have imagined and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the venue, canapes and the amazing buffet the staff provided. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely, warm and welcoming venue.

Lovely hotel, lovely staff and delicious food! Visited with a friend on Monday for the steak night. Portions were great and my fillet steak was cooked to perfection. Cosy and relaxed surroundings which is right up my street. This was my second visit and it won't be my last!

Lovely place, food & service are always top class.

We had eleven people for a family meal to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. Everyone had a lovely time and the meal was fantastic, very reasonable and a wide range to please everyone. Yvonne and her colleagues who looked after us ensured that everything went smoothly and efficiently but also that it felt relaxed and pleasant. My husband and I stayed overnight and we were pleased with the whole service. Thank you for making this occasion so successful.

This was my first visit to Uplawmoor Hotel and it was for the special occasion of my 80th Birthday. I was very impressed that the manager, Derek, met me at the door with a very warm welcome and showed the party to a very welcoming lounge and introduced me to the young lady, Claire, that would be waiting on us for the evening. Both manager and Claire receive full marks for going above and beyond to making this a very special evening, and one I will always treasure. The evening was a complete success as the meal was absolutely first class as was the surroundings. Many thanks to Derek, the waitress and also the hotel itself.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Uplawmoor Hotel! Run by lovely people with excellent staff. Not having to worry about breakfast in the morning was fantastic, the food in the pub was spot on & the room that we stayed in was perfect for our longer visit. Will definitely be booking to stay here again when we visit next.

First visit in a while. Food was lovely but not the cheapest. Sorry but £2.30 for a can of coke is excessive. Staff friendly.

If you're looking for a stopover for a night (or two), then look no further you've found the ideal place. This little hotel offers a friendly welcome and great hospitality. The food is all home cooked and offers great value considering the quality of the meal. The only downside is the location, there's absolutely nothing else in the village, not the place to spend a week or more unless your prepared to drive everywhere.

I understand the building is old, but if your expecting to get a good night sleep, unfortunately think a again. Walls are pretty thin and you could hear the people next to you. The toilet in our room took a while to fill the reservoir tank, being old plumbing I'm sure, but I happened to open the lid to see what was going on, and there was an old spirit bottle back there. I wonder if anyone else had noticed this XD That negative aside, the breakfast was great and try the potatoe scones. The food in the lounge was delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly. One woman helped us track down an old family friend's phone number. She didn't need to, but helped explain and look up the number. Good service if you ask me. All in all was a good time.

Lovely establishment. The rooms are fantastic, beautifully furnished and clean. The staff are truly welcoming. Picturesque view from my window. Very nice restaurant and lounge, open until 10 pm. Breakfast this morning provided an excellent selection of cold items and made to order hot items. They use locally sourced meats and produce. I would highly recommend this establishment and hope to return for a visit in the future.

We stayed on a ‘5pm’ overnight deal with 2-course dinner, breakfast and bottle of wine in the room, on 8 June 2018. The room was small and basic but clean and comfortable. The dinner was first class, as was the breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a small, quint village. Would I go back? … defo.

Clean room, Wi-Fi, TV in room. Can't really grumble at this. I was however warned off bringing food into my room as the hotel has "our own food operation" according to the manager. I find this antiquated and pompous. Given I've paid for the room, was away with work and working late I feel I'm entitled to work and eat if I so please. I didn't make a mess and purposely stayed away from the onsite facilities my second night because of this attitude. It actually cost you business in the end. Very heavy handed.

Stayed one night and ate in the restaurant. Food good and well cooked and presented. Staff give good service. Room was good size, clean, good facilities. Some slight noise from next door room, but would stay again if needed.

Great hotel in a small quiet village. Comfortable rooms and lovely restaurant with an extensive menu. The bar has craft beers. All in all a good place to stay.

Lovely staff friendly happy great food wonderful breakfast and comfortable beds. Cutest family room ever with cute bunk beds in a wee room off the cosy double. Perfect if a whole family do want to stay, ended up just me and my partner were in that room over night for a surprise family wedding that we had all thought was a sixtieth birthday turned out to be both. A wonderful surprise, and the staff kept it under wraps exceptionally well too. Utterly great night celebrating this happy occasion in a great wee find. Highly recommend.

If you like a small cosy hotel with very friendly staff this is the place for you. The staff was fantastic and tried really hard to ensure all guests had a great stay. The room was good, clean and big enough. Don't expect any chain like facilities. There is Wi-Fi though. If you want a pleasant room and great service the hotel is worth a stay.

We went to the hotel for Christmas diner on Xmas day. I can say without reservation that the hotel and staff laid on a great meal. From the warm welcome at the door, to the lovely staff to the meal itself they all combined to make it a perfect day. Having eaten here before, this meal just added to the feeling that this hotel is a family business who strive to deliver an excellent service.

Nice friendly atmosphere meals reasonably priced parking nearby and easy access to town.

Lovely Turkey dinner. Friend had steak. I will be back next week for steak as it's hard to find a good one. Thanks again I couldn't manage 3 course as I was stuffed! My latte. And tablet just finished it off. Thanks againx.

Friendly helpful staff, good food, warm and welcoming with a wee bit of tablet beside your tea or coffee. Great for a visit.

3 drinks ordered they got 2 wrong — these things happen apparently. Cajun chicken burger the spices were overwhelming that always concerns me (almost feel as if it's too cover something up) — chicken and ham salad was just had a lump of ham slices heaped on the plate. Way too much (if that's a complaint — for some that would be great) the other meal along with the Food in general was probably in our opinion below average. Which is a shame as we love the general vibe and atmosphere of the place.

Had lunch here 2 courses for £11.45. Lovely pate for starter and scampi and chips for main. Huge portions my favourite place to eat on a holiday weekend.

Arrived for a two night stay. On entering the hotel we were greeted by Derek who couldn't have been more welcoming. As husband is disabled a room nearest staircase was allocated. The room was spotless and had all amenities you could want, tea, coffee, Biscuits. Bottle of water. 2 mini bottles of Prosecco. Even Cotton wool balls in bathroom. Great size TV. Food in restaurant was of excellent quality. It's the staff that really make this hotel every member of staff we met were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I only have 1 complaint… We had to leave! But will return!

Half an hour's drive from the city centre in the beautiful Scottish countryside, rooms are clean and spacious. Staff are friendly and the food from the restaurant is superb. Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel and fantastic staff. Very accomodating and made to feel very welcome. Excellent breakfast in the morning! The hotel is about 20 minutes from Glasgow.

The restaurant get crowded in the weekends during summer, so go ahead and book a table. Food is safe, nothing too experimental. Chicken and haggis combination worked out really well. Well executed sticky toffee pudding. Nice lounge area. Great selection of both gins and whiskeys. Friendly staff.

Very friendly and cosy small hotel. Nice bar and pub like restaurant. Ample parking, including electric vehicle charging. Clean and spacious rooms.

Fantastic food well prepared and presented. All the staff were knowledgable about the food as we were looking for gluten free dishes and they were very helpful. Good standards kept throughout.

I've visited on 3 or 4 occasions for Sunday lunch over the past few months. The quality of produce and freshness of the food served are beyond reproach. Simple, quality ingredients well cooked. The portion sizes are spot on. The kitchen skills are obvious and the service friendly, attentive and capable. Price wise, it's not cheap but it's commensurate with the quality of the food. Usually a nice ambience of dining families and couples, thankfully without the raucous behaviour of kids running amok that you're likely to encounter in 'family-friendly' chains on any given Sunday. The only pointer I would suggest is that when "bread baked in-house daily" is promoted on menus as a unique point, the accompanying pats of wrapped Lockerbie Butter would be better served in butter ramekins. Just a thought. All in all, a safe bet for decent pub food amiably served in pleasant surroundings.

Lovely restaurant and staff. This was my first visit to the retardant after eating in the bar a few times. It was a great experience and a great meal. Definitely will be back.

We popped in for a quick late lunch. Fast friendly service. Tasty reasonably priced food. A real local surprise! Can't wait to go back.
