A group of us booked lunch and drinks at the Abbey Inn yesterday. We booked out the conservatory and they had it looking lovely. They didn’t grumble when we started rearranging the furniture. They let us open a tab and were generally just fabulous at service. We had a great day, thanks all!

Terrible service left to get ur own cutlery and starters served with sauce that was put in cupcake holders. Dirty glasses. Food served cold twice as was sent back. Reheated chips given to two members of the family. Family member left 20 mins to wait on new meal. Absolutely shocking and will not be back.

Had steak pie & it was poor. Pastry not cooked properly & chips & veg cold. As much as we realise this is a child friendly place it was full of kids, some even bouncing a ball around. Certainly wouldn’t return for food.

We live very local to the Abbey Inn and attend on a weekly basis. Cheap but good meals every single time. In yesterday again for a meal with family members and served by Daniel lovely friendly service every time he's in the Abbey working. Always puts a smile on kids faces to. He defo makes the place very welcoming well be back most likely this week again x.

We visited today for lunch and had exceptional service from Daniel and the staff. Amazing food with a smile. Thank you so much we will be back.

Friendly staff who took lots of time to explain the new set up and took proper track and trace details. Very good one way system and distancing.

A while ago I gave a pretty bad review of here. And not long ago noticed it had been taken down. A member of manegement was really quite cheeky to me and told me that I was not come back and was given no reason. Never the less. Complaining is pointless unless it's online so either way won't be back … SHAME really as its generally a nice we place. Unfortunately the manegement fell very short.

Went back here a year after having a bad experience with the food not being good. Thought we’d try again. Went on Sunday absolutely disgusting behaviour with vile and rowdy behaviour. The things they were shouting about was disgusting. Definitely not suitable for families. Staff couldn’t control them and just laughed when we asked if anything was going to be done about them. Was totally obvious no manager was about. No more chances. Won’t be giving anymore chances. Worse restaurant ever been in.

Good atmosphere, having a great time with old friends, staff doing a great job.

Had a lovely lunch today. My katsu curry was really nice and 2 friends had macaroni and a mixed grill and they all enjoyed it. The table could have been cleaner.

We attended the Abbey for a friends party two weeks ago, we arrived early for some food which was delicious the venue is great — modern, clean and a good size. The party was in the conservatory which was a gorgeous setting! The staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We also stayed over night at the Abbey; the rooms where clean and spacious with a comfy bed! Highly recommended and already can wait to come back!

Went for brunch. Barman was very good and service with a smile. The full breakfast was very average, as the sausages had been cooked some time before. All in all, good for the price. Five stars to the bar man and 3 for the kitchen.

Food is nice n cheap, room is very small. It smells due to kitchen exhaust just too close to the window. A pity cause the place is nice n staff looks friendly.

Visited for lunch. Venue was ok however my sandwich (beef melt) was stuffed with thick slices of tough beef. I would have preferred it to have wafer thin slices so I could get my teeth through it. Would visit again but choose carefully.

I have been to The Abbey on a few occasions and really enjoyed the food and service, so decided to take my in-laws last night who were visiting from Wales we waited awhile for the food to be served and when it was the Steak and Ale Pie was dry obviously been under a hot light to keep it warm, the curry could not be considered a giant portion, the fish was not white the batter was burnt along with the chips which for some some strange reason were partly cold. I did not complain as when I went to the bar they were so busy we left, I will think twice before going back.

Nice menu Nice bar Nice staff Beds comfortable Large TV I have stayed there many times. Always good. Can't really complain about anything.

Not a bad stay at all. Room was fairly tidy but could do with a deep clean. Everything in the room worked except the lamp usb charger and the shaving light. Shower was good and the sea kelp stuff is better than the usual hotel soaps. Strong capable Wi-Fi. Best thing about the room was the bed. Comfy mattress and comfy pillow. The hotel is well decorated and maintained throughout. The bar is well stocked and the food is reasonable for the price. Breakfast was very nice and there is a good selection of extras. Staff all very friendly and helpful. For the price I paid, I was a bit worried and probably would have expected worse but this hotel is very good value for money. I would stay again if in the area.

Hands down the best hotel ive ever stayed in for that price room was perfect beds comfy food & drinks were perfect in the restaraunt bathroom was spotless & perfect free Wi-Fi I cannotnrate this place highly enough the staff were great allowing me to check in late then once I did aftrr a nightmare of a day & the airport loosing my bags they provided me with a charger to use as my phone was flat so I could track it down & survive as we all know how much we live through our phones this place is now the only place ill stay when I visit.

Nice place. Looks like it has recently been refurbished. Food was inexpensive and of reasonable quality. Had a minor issue with our order which was dealt with without fuss. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Plenty of screens if you want to have lunch and a few beers while you watch the match. Not sure what the hotel side is like but if it is as clean and new as the bar restaurant then you will be fine.

Just had breakfast there and it was lovely and the lovely touch was when I was given a birthday card because we were in having a birthday breakfast x.

Good quality food at reasonable prices, I occasionally pop in here for lunch from work; service is fast and friendly and I've never been late back to work. It's a little chilly, is the only criticism.

Went for a meal last night for my sister's birthday. Place looks great since the refurb but food seems to of taken a nose dive as been in many times before the refurb. Ordered drinks and starters which was sharing platters. When we then orders mains they advised no steaks were available. Bar staff did say they should have told us when we came in. Would've left and went elsewhere but had started on the platters. Ordered gammon steak and chips and when delivered to the table we all said the chips were overdone reheats which the server said yeah he agreed right away. (So why serve them in the 1st place)? We were issued fresh chips but meal was nearly finished at that point so felt let down. Never had any issues before tonight so will try again in a few weeks and hopefully have a better night.

Food was great. Service just as good, portion size let me just say that they did not skimp on anything that was put infront of us. See you soon Abbey inn.

Very friendly staff, good food and clean comfortable rooms, good location easy accessible to Glasgow, well worth a visit.

Ordered two Sunday roasts (advertised on the menus as a main feature) were not informed by staff at any time that there was no Yorkshire puddings even when ordering so went back to the bar to complain they said "oh we don't have any left" I informed them I wasn't told but offered no resolution, apology or partial refund. The soup which was almost certainly out of a packet costs £4.99 which is probably one of the most expensive bowls of soup I've ever purchased which doesn't coincide with the price of the main meals which are reasonable. The meat and chicken on the toast was also dry. Not a very good experience however the building is fresh and modern.

Lovely bar/restaurant with nice food and pretty reasonable prices. It was decorated lovely for Christmas and is very clean and neat. Would definitely go again.

If I'm going out for breakfast on the weekend this is where I go. Freshly cooked and really good produce. Recommended.

This was my first time staying at Abbey Inn and can't fault the service. Staff were very helpful and very friendly. I'd have no hesitation in recommending.

Recently refurbished to a fantastic standard. Will suit everyone from someone looking for a local right up to corporate functions and everything in between. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.

Went for a meal with family. The bar/restaurant had recently been refurbished and was very pleasant and the meal itself was delicious. The waiting staff were efficient and friendly and it was a largely positive experience. Only reason it's not 5 stars is that it was comparatively pricey.

Newly redecorated and a new menu. Food was okay but music cranked up way too loud at one point. Couldn't hear ourselves talk although staff quickly turned it down when asked.

Place is nicely done following the recent refurbishment with the TVs in each of the seated booths being a good move. Plenty of options in relation to drinks however the food being served is pretty poor. Ordered the steak pie, mash and peas which arrived with the exposed meat on either side of the pie portion being over cooked and very dark. Shortcrust pastry was very hard which proved difficult to even cut. Gravy that accompanied the meal was far too thin with no consistency. My son ordered the Sunday roast (beef) with the meat found to be quite dry. Scored this as fair on the basis that the nice pint of San Miguel and bottle of house wine made up for the poor meal.

Been here for dinner a handful of times as live 5 mins from here. On terms of food it is adequate, service could be quicker and there could be lots more choice on the menu which they have recently changed/downsized.

Service was average, staff friendly enough. Can’t complain about the starters but the main courses where disgusting. We ordered 3 of the small starter selection which where ok. We ordered Cumberland sausage with mash with extra sausage. It cane out with links that looked as if they got skuf d open and chucked in the fryers they where disgusting and solid the knife couldn’t go thru. Beef and ale pie was a slice of dry crap also looked like it had been microwaved as the peas where dry and disgusting. The staff have obviously been told not to deduct anything of the bill but to just apologies and offer an alternative. Sorry if two meals come out and both disgusting who in their right mind would order another. First and last I think they are past getting it right so no doubt they will get more ppl who won’t return than will. Give this place a wide berth.

Average pub grub. Gammon steak with pineapple — steak was quite nice but no pineapple available! Eggs, baked potatoes soggy. Meals were full price and not two for £10.99. It was all okay but wouldn't rush back.

Rooms are basic but comfortable, staff are super friendly, Toilets/showers are dated but clean. Food is delicious and its easy to get to so always a bonus.

The food in the pub is amazing and the room was cute and cozy. Our bathroom and shower were shared, so just a heads up. But everything was lovely and the staff were great.

Beautiful place. Wonderful team. Very friendly and welcoming. We were there for two nights, the room was clean and comfortable with a private shower. They have ample parking space up front and Wi-Fi. In case you are staying there and are planning to go back there for dinner do let them know in advance the kitchen closes at 9, but if the crowd is less they tend to close earlier. And finding something to eat at that time of night is very difficult, just adds to the strain especially if your plan was to chill after a long day. They were kind enough to let us eat our take out inside the restaurant.

Easily accessible by car and public transport, staff were extremely welcoming and helpful and the meal was delicious and very reasonably priced.

Attended a leaving party for a family member going back to Australia. The function suite we where in was nice and modern as with the whole bar. Didn't buy any drinks as I was driving. But those who did didn't complain about the price. Food at the party was provided by the Abbey. And it tasted nice. As it was just items off the menu.

Food awful! Fish had no taste with black bits inside batter. Hand full of chips and peas like bullets. Good service that's why it gets 2 star. Never again.

We had dinner. Wonderful, fast service and decent good sized portions for the price. Would definitely recommend.

Attended a Campaign for Real Ale meeting and also had a meal beforehand. Food was very good and extremely good value for money. We were well looked after and I would definitely go again.

Our Abbey Inn visit was generally good, service and staff were the highlight along with the general atmosphere. Unfortunately steaks were off, which was not mentioned when presented with the menus. Down on the lower level tables our party all felt the eye level lighting was far to bright as to be uncomfortable. Thankfully we could switch them off ourselves so was easily remedied. Now food was again generally good but our serving of mash with one meal had that "skin" like layer and did not appear fresh as a result. A few small points that took it down some but again staff and atmosphere and price was all good!

Saying the service was good would be an understatement; the staff was stellar from the very moment I arrived to a lovely breakfast next day. Perhaps I've arrived at the crew's better day and was simply lucky, but that was my experience with AbbeyInn nonetheless. I was simply stellar.

The Abbey Inn is a wonderful pub and inn! The rooms, while small, are very affordable and perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. The food and drinks in the pub are excellent (try their split pea with ham soup! ), and the staff are kind, friendly, and helpful. I booked a room at this inn on a whim and I am very impressed with it. I only wish I had a longer holiday to stay here. Cons (though not really) : Traffic noise — it's not that bad, especially if you close the window No elevator — rooms are on the upper level, but there is a wide staircase that is easy to navigate.

Really good quality full Scottish breakfast with brilliant tasting coffee! Staff friendly and helpful. Nice, clean and bright. Was 11.30am on a Wednesday so quiet. Good value for money. Go :-)
