Lovely little pub on the main street of Strathyre. Real coal fire. Plenty great whiskies to try. Had a bar supper. Lovely, hot, tasty food. Toilets are ok. The lovely lady who served us was very very attentive, with our food a drinks. Would definitely recommend this pub. They also do B & B.

Had dinner here on Friday night & the food was lovely as well as the bar staff very helpful & friendly, will definitely be back when up that way.

We just came back from a one night stay and I highly recommend this place. Great value for the money we paid. The rooms are good size, cosy and very clean. They are dog friendly so we had our dog with us and it was good as the dog was allowed in the bar, the room and the beer garden too. The beer garden has amazing views. The food is to die for! So if you are in town pop in for a wee snack. Andy was a great host and provided one of the best customer service experience. Nothing was too much for the staff! They are very friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. We will be back :)

Our landlady at the B&B said that all the places in Strathyre are good, but the White Stag is always reliable to provide a delicious meal as a chef runs it. The others can sometimes be hit or miss. She was right on the money, as our meal was very good. We even followed it up with a super moist, very tasty chocolate fudge cake with pouring cream over it. The pints were tasty and cold, and everyone was very friendly. When we first arrived, the only seat open was described as the bartender as "dodgy. " We sat there until another spot opened. The pub is also very dog-friendly. I think at one point there were 20 people and 5 large dogs, one of which belonged to the pub.

A mixed review really. Very beautiful place. Clean, comfortable room. But odd menu, and kitchen exhaust fan stunk up the room.

Warm welcome and fast check in (It was amazing, I've spent all day in the hills and within 10 minutes of walking through the door I was in the shower). Comfortable beds. Cool bar (wood/coal fire… At least I think they swapped to coal after a while… good beer). Good food (had a venison burger, it was amazing). The bar had locals in it and a few hikers, it made for a cool atmosphere. Good place.

Lovely friendly village pub with a great ambience. Log fire burning, games on the table, friendly bar staff & friendly locals. What more can you ask for from a village pub.

Why, oh why did we leave it until our last night in Strathyre to discover this amazing place? Superb food, good selection of drinks, but first and foremost a superb welcome and great company. Roll on November 2018!

Just spent our fifth Hogmanay and New Year at The White Stag at Strathyre. Great food, a good pint of Caledonian Best and the friendly banter and atmosphere… and yes a great log fire.
