Beautiful location, good service, excellent breakfast. Only 10 mins from town centre.

Quite the nicest room I have ever stayed in I cannot rate this place too highly A gem.

If booking a sea view room make sure you have time to sit at the bay window and appreciate the wonderful view of the bay and watch the Calmac ferries passing. Very relaxing sitting on the wing backed chairs with a wee sherry in hand.
Situated on the sea front and only a short walk into the centre made it an ideal base and also plenty of car parking available.
The additional touches made it that bit of luxury — keep up this high standard.

5 star b and b with a 5 star price tag.

Been in many hotels and guesthouses in Oban…but Mackays is definitely our new favourite! We were in room 8 which is more of a contemporary style, lovely silver grey walls and beautiful accessories. Huge window which we loved sitting at just watching the fab views. Very nicely decorated breakfast room which was never overcrowded. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice. Owners and waitresses very helpful and friendly. We will be back!

How can I put this. It was simply outstanding. Room was immaculate and very spacious. Beautiful views over the bay. I don't know much about Michelin Stars but in my opinion they deserve one. Breakfast was awesome.

We had a fabulous stay at MacKays Guest House! The room was spacious with a fantastic view! Two comfortable chairs were placed in the bay window looking out on the water. A perfect spot to enjoy the sunset. Room was very clean and the breakfast was delicious. The proprietors could not be nicer or more accommodating. Can't wait to stay there again!

We received a lovely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was so large and had a spectacular view. We stayed in this hotel in 2016 which was why we choose it again for an overnight stop in 2017. Next time we are in Oban we will make this our top choice when looking for availability.

Our 1st time at Oban and our night at Mackays were a most warm, welcoming, comfortable stay. Our room and facilities were superb and breakfast was 1st class. Would definitely recommend this guest house.
