Staff lovely, rooms are adequate if rather dated. But the restaurant is terrible. Fish and chips as a £10.95 meal consistent of a handful of oven chips, frozen breadcrumb fish patty and frozen garden peas. This was served with the fish still frozen in the middle … and not just our meal but everyone was sending food back but they kept bringing the same rubbish out… breakfast was like the "a la carte kitchen" advert of of the 80's.

Terrible rooms horrendous, we were given 3 different rooms but all smelt moldy, curtains rotton and falling down, beds springs coming through, and you felt like the guest on the upper floor where going to come through as they walked the beds shook, we stay in same chain in Ipswich and booked this thinking it would be similar, what a awful 3 nights sleep, food was terrible. We never ate in the breakfast after 1st morning as we came down at 9 only to be told sorry breakfast finished. So we ate elsewhere throughout our stay. We believe our standards are actually quite low and I've never felt the need to ever write a review until now and I travel around in hotels most of the year. The only bonus was the staff the supervisor and manager, whom could only apologise for the dreadful hotel where lovely They explained that the hotel will be closed down in September for a re fit. Thus hotel is not fit for guest and should have been closed down before. This cost us £498.00 I'm so upset that I am writing to the company that own.

Stayed here as a stopover on the way to Loch Ness, so just wanted a simple meal, a comfy clean room and breakfast. The room was clean and roomy, not expensive, so just as expected. However the evening meal choice as just 2 things, goulash and mash or fish and chips, which was not what we expected from such a large hotel. We were also advised that breakfast was only served until 9am and was pretty pricey so we have it a miss. Drinks could not be charged to the room and only paid with cash. Ok for a stop off but make sure you source somewhere else to eat!

Has the potential to be really good. On the upside staff were very polite and helpful. On the downside they seem under trained and under resourced. The night we stayed, they only had 3 main courses on the menu, one of which was immediately removed leaving sweet and sour pork or the vegetarian option. The sweet and sour pork was disappointing to say the least, like something knocked up in a home kitchen in minutes and cost £10.95. Although to be fair they halved this cost when I complained. It was like a lot of very nice people who want to do well but weren't quite there yet. The atmosphere was charming and the place was nice although the showers were a bit ropey. I would stay there again but only if they either sort these issues out or drop the prices to reflect them.
