Excellent service excellent food first time here and it was perfect.

First time and probably only time will certainly ever be there for a meal. Was there with another adult and 2 children. Food was very basic. Daughter got one tiny bit of garlic bread for her kids starter. Steak pie was overcooked, puff pastry burned with barely any meat. Mash potatoes tasted like smash? pasta Alfredo with chicken breast was £13.55 and the portion size was so small, food not very tasty and not nearly worth the money. Could cook it for a family of 4 for less than 5 quid easy! said to waiter about the steak pie being overcooked and he thanked me for letting him know. All in all not at all worth the money!

Excellent service. Very nice food but had run out of the desserts we wanted so a little disappointed.

Was in for lunch during the week meal was cremated. Had a classic chicken burger the chicken was dry and over cooked. French fries were like twigs could have easily broke a tooth. When asked if was ok young boys answer was oh it's hard getting French fries right. Needless to say didn't eat them paid and left.

Food is bad service is slow carvery is worsted I have ever seen and wasn’t even busy and not the first time had bad food and service here.

Went in for a carvery, staff were lovely food was amazing! Manager David was very welcoming and chatty. Would rate everything a 10/10

Ideal to pop in for lunch after being at the Lynn Glen Waterfall. Food was good, staff (Aidan) attentive and friendly. Dog friendly too.

Carvery was just great and the lemon cheesecake was lush. Staff brilliant and accomodating.

Brilliant time meeting Spiderman this morning. The service and food were amazing! Our kids had the best time, and we highly recommend to everyone. Owen, Hayden, Leoni, Nicola and Nicole were fantastic.

Myself and my friend booked in for out kids to come for the arts snd crafts afternoon. My girls love coming as they enjoy playing out in the park area. staff were very friendly and the girl doing the crafts made sure she was including all the kids who was booked for it and had plenty of resources for them to use and explore. staff was also very efficient and ensuring we were okay with drinks and food and asking if we needed more etc. definitely be back for more days like this. keep it up xx.

Had Cauvery wasn’t the greatest the beef was as tough as old boot waited 20 min after ordering to get our drinks n that was the place pretty quiet, cocktails weren’t up to much far to pricey for wot you get other than that staff friendly enough.

I was here last night with my husband and was very disappointed. This is usually a favourite of our families have been many times before and also ordered the same food. This time around I had my usual carvery and had this with beef while eating the food I noticed a bone in my beef. I found a member of staff and showed them to which they were rather rude and said "I wil get you another piece of meat". She then took my plate off me as I said no I didn't want another bit of meat due to being put off it in case there was another bone. There was no other options given basically I went without. I will not be returning and will be telling my family and friends not too either. This was an awful meal and awful experience I even went to the local Chinese on the way home for something to eat.

Dinner was ok. Not one person asked if we wanted a dessert, when I went to ask to order one was told kitchen was closed. Whilst might I add all the staff were stood talking amongst themselves. This I feel is very poor customer service and very poor communication as they could have stated when kitchen closed when entering the building. We are now on our way to vanilla joes for our dessert!

Great service from Holly and the red squirrel team. Great entertainment kids absolutely loved the pj party the staff were very accommodating. Will definitely be back for more family events thank you.

Went for breakfast with santa was an amazing day highly recommended, staff were amazing super attentive played party games with the kids, made sure kids had juice adults had tea or coffee, food was amazing, Take a bow red squirrel staff u made the children's day so special, definitely be booking for future events and definitely next Christmas, had a fantastic time ❤️

Fantastic night last night for the kids Christmas party 🎉 they all had a ball so they did. £3 great value too. They had unlimited juice, games, prizes, cookie making & Santa came to see them too. My roast dinner was amazing too as always. See yoz next week for breakfast with Santa 🎅🏻 🥰

Worst meal ever and service was terrible over an hour for main meal.

Me and my family went for a meal last week. We were greated by warm and friendly staff who seated us and got our drinks straight away. We had starters, mains and desserts that were up to high quality standars. The restaurant was clean and tidy and staff made experience enjoyable even though the restaurant was busy. Will definitely be back.

Nice friendly staff, place is decorated beautifully, clean and COVID friendly, starters good mains not so great, lasagne unedible, left most of it, told the waitress who apologised buts still charged me for it, gammon dry and tasteless and burger very grossly, puddings lovely though, definitely won't be coming back, really disappointing.

Absolutely fantastic day yesterday with Santa for lunch. The whole event was well planned. The staff were amazing with the kids and were so involved also. The food was perfect and was served very quickly. All in all was a great event and the staff deserves all the recognition ♥️

Amazing experience today at breakfast with Santa. Well organised, food was delicious and staff were friendly and on the ball with service. I would definitely recommend and hope they have the event again next year. Thank you red squirrel for a bit of normality!

Lovely venue. With good food offering. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The carvery smell goes around your heart as soon as you arrive.

Good food with extremely generous portions at very reasonable prices. Excellent service too with very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Cold, unfriendly and unbothered employees. Overly priced. Slow service, we waited 1 hour for our food to arrive. When food eventually arrived it was cold, burnt and clearly not fresh/homemade but from frozen packaging. This type service was not only associated with my family as we noticed the same treatment with other customers. Even after our food we were given rude treatment when we tried to give constructive criticism to the staff. This restaurant really could not get anything right and we will definitely not be returning. Ever.

Worst service and meal I have had in quite some time. Had to go find a cloth and spray and clean my own table after the waitress not returning. No menu mentioned of drinks prices or of the carvery, had to ask a waitress walking past how it worked but she was unsure of prices. And then as my partner went for the carvery she had to wait several minutes for service as there was no one manning the carvery table. He then walked away before she had the chance to ask for gravy. The other chef did apologise for his attitude and helped her instead. Could and should have been a good place to go. Sadly disappointed.

Got a table really quickly. Ordered and our starters came out straight away. Waited 50 minutes for our mains after chasing them up. Very poor meals and will we won't be back.

On the basis that this place is generally busy, chances are you’ll have a good meal. Not a great meal, but a good meal … most of the time. Percentage wise it’s 75% — 80% that your meal will be OK … however they have faltered in the past. And NO … there’s no pictures again … I will review a place I’ve been, more than once, … I can’t see the point in belittling or extolling the virtues of somewhere you’ve just been, if let’s say “there having a bad day” because we all have them! It’s a family friendly ‘eatery’ and I’ve generally found the staff pleasant.

Having been asked to lunch by our son we thought great we decided on the red squirrel, hugely disappointed, my own meal (steak pie) was dried out and looked unappealing and poor and the taste was just as bad, my son who had Yorkshire pudding filled with meat was also disappointed and his too was extremely dry and unappealing with the meat inside over done and dry, my partner's was at least presentable and looked fresh (chicken/gammon pie) I overheard the barman complaining they were under staffed, although that's no excuse for the quality of the food we received. I did not complain so too not embrasses my group, but as we we driving home my son said he was surprised at the poor quality which we received. I will email the company.

I really liked this place went in for something to eat and thought it was excellent, food was good, cooked to my asking very helpful staff, especially. One called Ryan very helpful and it was a nice afternoon day out I met a really lovely girl with fantastic tattoos (a building is just a building, it's the people, the staff, the cooks (chefs) that make it special) and she was fantastic.

Basic room, warm and clean, but quite dark (small window) and interior lighting was awful. Check-in at the bar was inconvenient, lots of walking about just so they can save some money on not having a receptionist in the accommodation block. Breakfast was a shambles. I got there just at 7am, and only one other person there. I sat by window, but ended up waiting a long time to order because 10 other people were sitting closer to the kitchen by the time she came out. Poor woman running around by herself trying to serve everyone and seemed very stressed. I ended up just having Bran Flakes™ and orange because I didn't have time to wait. Others were getting annoyed at the amount of time it was taking. Seems like the owners are running the staffing at the absolute lowest limit to save money, but it makes the whole experience very poor. I wouldn't be rushing back.

Went when it was quieter. Pleasant enough facilities but shocking service. 6 main meals ordered. Two arrived after everyone else had finished. Printer problem meant the order went through as two separate orders. When last meals arrived, they were tough, dry and burnt at the edges. Would have returned it other than it was later and we needed to get going. Manageress very apologetic and partial refund given. The service at the table wasn't great either. Overall poor experience but could have the potential to be much nicer.

Had a delicious great value for money carvery here today. Meat lovely and tender with a choice of Ham Turkey or roast beef (2 slices for my small plate) and many choices of vegetables with Yorkshire pudding. All nice and hot. Friendly and helpful staff.

Fantastic staff, good service and great value in food. Nothing is too much trouble. Customer service is important here.

Menu gets a little boring after a few visits. The carvery is OK. But again gets boring after a few times, good value for money though. Staff are very helpful and attentive. Fairly good selection of real ales on offer.

Rooms were lovely, very clean and tidy. Staff were polite and helpful. No problems at all.

Went for family dinner. I was planning on the mixed grill but it wasn't available. We got 3 medium carvery and a fish and chips. The food was very good apart from the potatoes which where very dry. We all had a dessert and was amazing, kids brownie and ice cream was such a small portion but with 3 large bits of cake it worked out ok. Good value for money and kids happy as it has a play area.

Visited for lunch for the first time. Menu is huge, lots of choice. Kids menu is good too for all ages. Service was good with really friendly staff and the food came quickly after ordering. Quality of food was what I expected from a chain like this, it's not fine dining obviously but I will definitely be back.

Clean rooms and is how you would expect. Restaurant didn't have soya milk or veggie sausages the first morning but they made an effort to get them for the next day so that was really good.

Enjoyed my meal a few times trouble free however when went for dinner with my partner had a mix up with drinks and her bacon was rock hard. But would defo give another chance as had a few good meals without any problems. Friendly pub atmosphere nice fresh decor. Good parking.

No vegan options despite saying on menu there are as the vegetarian stuff is cooked in the same fryer as dead birds. Disappointing. Staff friendly though.

Really enjoyed our 1st break away with the boys having their own room. Very clean and comfortable & staff were very helpful. Will stay again when in the area visiting family.

Decent food prices were ok. Free soft drink refills. Seems slightly understaffed or the staff aren't efficient enough. I will be back again. Nice atmosphere. Sometime a bit awkward to get out of in the car. Good play areas.

Carvery great, meat always good here! Plenty of items to choose from on the main menu also but not eaten off their before. Great selection of puddings and huge portions! Definitely worth a visit if you pasing.

Looks good. Staff lovely. Average rating 4 stars. Returned my meal and ordered a replacement dish. First dish was cold and dried out, a flat, supposidely puff pastry chicken pie. Sent back, refund refused initially so bought another dish. New dish arrived which was perfect. Then refund given by manager for the pie. I am not sure that was great customer service or a swoop in, last minute ooops, as they had inspected the pie in the first order. 5 stars really to staff who were lovely but really only 3 stars for the food.

Really clean. Staff were brilliant. My only fault would be sleeping in the room above the entrance. Automatic doors constantly disturbed my sleep.

Went for lunch carvery for kids birthday. Food was great had the sharing plater starter. The only gripe was the roast potatoes, a bit dry. Desert was amazing, loved by all. Outside play area and seating is perfect for a sunny day. Value for money also. Paying at the bar allows you to keep track of your bill.

Great place has become our new local. Decent prices for drinks, staff are always friendly and helpful and never had a bad meal. Would have been five stars but the only irritant is the bar is frequently only staffed by one member. Annoying waiting so long for ordering drinks.

Went to the carvery for lunch. Very good value for money. The food is not amazing, but it's very good for the money. £5 for 4 slices of meat and as much veg, etc as you wanted. Staff were friendly and polite.

Room was very clean and bed really comfy, place nice and quiet. However it's new and as if the rooms haven't been fully furnished yet — I could have done with a comfy/easy chair, another upright chair and table/rack to put my case on. I stayed 4 nights and lived out of my suitcase on the floor! Otherwise — bathroom spotless, endless hot water and very friendly and helpful staff in the restaurant, who turned the blasting music down when I asked!
