☀️TAKE YOUR OWN FLASK FOR COFFEE OR TEA☀️ The grounds and castle are all beautiful, lots to see and great walks, the second hand bookshop is perfection. However, the one thing I was disappointed with, the home farm restaurant — waiting for approx 20 minutes to be served for take away because the staff were not at the counter, (which I realise staff can be busy, but the poor girls seemed to not have enough help to cater for the sit in and takeaway customers so not their fault really), then we ordered one small tea and 2 small coffees. The coffee were £2.80 each and we were asked to sit outside to wait for our order. We waited for a short time and our drinks were brought out and handed over. I took the coffee out of the drinks cup and though they had mistakenly given me a baby sized cup, it was absolutely tiny. I went back inside to ask and was told that is the small size! 2 small mouthfuls for £2.80 is ridiculous, so I would advise to take a flask and a picnic with you because the prices are extortionate for tiny things. The gardens are beautiful, and very well kept.
Beautiful views and plenty to see and do. Tour of castle was great and staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
