A party of three, we were early for a nearby 'Alpaca Walk' (! ) and we were looking for a nearby coffee stop. We found the White Lion and, even though it wasn't open, the manager was happy to serve us. Very helpful, he gave us plenty of information regarding local walks, a nice touch. Impressed.

I went for a meal and was very impressed with the service and my roast beef dinner was fantastic. The staff were very good and provided excellent service. Looking forward to my next visit.

Gastro loung, And Resturaunt pricey nice, small bar pricey nice, money no object you will have a good time. Beer. Wine good locals friendly worth a visit. Accommodation upstairs and in the anex. Small beer garden. Mild French influence.

Beautiful little country pub with a cosy atmosphere and excellent food! Prices are commensurate with the quality of the food, I think it's reasonably priced, and very nice. Lovely staff too. Has it's own parking around the back and is clean and tastefully decorated with a shabby-sheek sort of look. Just a pleasant place to be in general.

Excellent service. Friendly and attentive. If you're at the NEC and want a traditional country pub vibe, it is less than ten mins away. Highly recommended.

A group of colleagues and I stay here when we work nearby. The landlord, landlady and the rest of the staff are lovely and friendly. The kitchen does great food. The are a good range of drinks available at the bar. The rooms are comfy. All considered, a great pub for a drink and/or a meal and it is great to stay in a pub rather than a hotel for a change.

An awesome country pub owned by a English — French couple. Due to the French connection has an unusual and mouth watering cuisine.

Atmosphere, food and servive were all excellent! All the meals ordered to our table were served quickly and presented well, nothing fussy just proper food on a plate. The menu has plenty to choose from. I had belly pork which was cooked to perfection. It was a big plate of food but I ate it all so treated myself to warm chocolate brownie and icecream. It was glorious. Probably the best brownie I have ever had. Prices were good for the high standards here. It was thoroughly relaxing meal out.

Lovely staff. Very helpful, although very busy on a Saturday evening. Music night when we were there so no food served. See reviews of Beeches Bar & Grill for our food. Room very nice, bathroom lovely and warm, plenty of tea and coffee on hand in the room. Had cottage next to pub so nice and quiet, no pub noise.

Fantastic meal, lovely hosts, wonderful staff. Comfortable rooms. Loads of old character in the building. Looking forward to our next visit.

Stayed overnight. Room was small but quaint. Friendly and helpful staff. In the morning we had a call to leave urgently and they quickly made us some bacon and egg buttie to go as we would miss breakfast. Had dinner the night before and food was nice and big portions.

Excellent. Good friendly service. We were 4 adults and 5 children. Walked in without booking for Sunday lunch. Good food. They must have improved a lot since other reviewers visited as it's worth going.

Great atmosphere with a good balance between cool and comfy. Nice selection of ales I haven't seen anywhere else. Food is surprisingly excellent seeing as they don't seem to make a big deal out of it. The hand cooked chips are a nice touch. Staff very friendly.

Great hospitality, nice rooms and good food. We booked for a show at NEC and have re-booked for next year already. Highly recommended.
