Fantastic hotel. Amazing room and facilities. Awsome breakfast.

Cheap at £38 for a twin room. Reasonable bar. Ideal stay if your flying early from Birmingham airport.

The hotel is fine for a place to lay your head. The room was clean and the bed comfortable and there can be no complaints regarding the facilities. There was a wedding reception and dance going on when we arrived and that was fine. The following morning breakfast was busy with people dining and no doubt looking to get away after the celebration. I have one gripe and that is a young man walked into the dining room barefooted and wearing a dressing gown. When confronted by a member of the staff he was rude and carried on regardless. I would recommend that a respectful notice be produced regarding dress code suggesting a minimum level of decency and decorum to be observed out of consideration for other guests. I know one shouldn't have to do it and it's a pity that such things have to be done but I'm afraid it seems to be the society we live in makes it necessary. A notice would make it easier for staff to refuse such people entry. This is less of a complaint and more an observation.

Lots of noise late at night when trying to sleep. Walls must be very thin as it is a very old building. However we suggested the staff call the police as the room next door sounded as though there was some sort of domestic violence occurring. They had a word with them but did not remove the said guests. Also found the rooms smelt of cigarette smoke. We were then moved to another room by the night staff but strangely the bathroom smelt of smoke when the extraction fan went on. I went explain to the day staff of my experience and was met with just an apology. Not recommended!

Receptionist was very helpful. When we went to the room it stunk of damp. I told the receptionist and she moved us straight a away. The room itself was clean and tidy but the bed was awful as was very bouncy.

Pros — reasonable room rate, clean, bar, decent food Cons — charge £5 to park car over night, road noise is deafening. No sound deadening between rooms. Managed an hours sleep.

Update 21/4/18 never staying here again, new parking charges when all others are free locally and it's not improved from when I was last here. Also insisting on a deposit for paying cash. No, you need to tell people this stuff BEFORE they arrive. What a joke, charging customers £5 PER DAY for a car park. And the double room this time was poor like the single ones. Never coming here again. Previously I have loved staying at the hotel. This time was awful. The double and twin rooms are amazing so why are the single rooms so atrocious?! It was cold, the bed was hard, the facilities were appalling and the room was out of date. Don't book a single room here : (

Great hotel. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Great Wi-Fi too. The food in the restaurant wasnt great. I had a house burger. Would stay here again. Highly recommended.

The rooms were lovely, well cleaned and big enough for both of us to store and do what we needed to do. The staff were lovely and friendly, in particular the bar manager/waitress on our final nights, she was amazing! Food was alright, expensive for what it was but nice.

Nice place. Ample parking (pay and display). A bit tricky to get to as there is another hotel nearby and from the A45 the signage is poor. They do have good facilities though.

The hotel itself was comfortable and the room was clean and maintained with a decent bathroom. But the temperature in the rooms was unbearably hot and the noise was apalling. The music from the function rooms went on until 2am and shook the window.

It's an ok hotel. Rooms are dated but clean. Major complaint-its far too hot even with the windows open in March. Staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurant ok but not great. I would probably go elsewhere next time but would stay again if nothing else was available.

I picked up my friends at this hotel and took them for a meal. I then dropped them off and left. It was heavy snow and was in carpark a matter of seconds but recieved a £100 fine for not paying for the carpark. I will never let friends stay there ever again and wont ever stay there myself either. I hope there car park fee pays for all the lost guests they will lose.

Very nice rooms. No fridge. Feels a bit creepy. Chicken strips are banging. Friendly staff. Beds are a jam. Good tv. Smoke out the window. Handy plug sockets in the wardrobe.

Having stayed in a lot of hotels recently for business, this is by far the worse hotel I've stayed in. From now on I'll stick to Premier Inn and Travelodge! The only things it has going for it are good location and nice reception staff. Paying £5 per day to park in a hotel car park a couple of miles out of the centre seemed unreasonable. The decor is very tired and for £9 the breakfsst isn't the best. Don't expect a peaceful night sleep, the walls are so thin that you can hear the next room along watching TV until the early hours.

The fact I had to pay to use the car park was a shock. A fiver yeah, but… Seriously? The floorboards creaked everytime I moved and midnight seemed to be the perfect time to do all the washing up and laundry. Oh, and the toilet/shower room. The food was good priced and the staff friendly.

Service was brilliant, rooms very clean and quiet. Only problem was the heating in the rooms was very high but hopefully this can be easily changed.

Excellent quality rooms the only problem is that the rooms are too warm! Plenty of hot water in the refurbished bathrooms. The hotel has very friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Food is hot and adequate.

Good hotel beds move around pretty easily though and the bar doesnt stock a wide selection of beers or ciders. Food looks great and breakfast is well presented and as much tea and coffee you can handle at breakfast.

First impressions of the hotel were mixed. First off the car park looks very neglected as its very poorly marked, it looks like is hasn't been repainted in quite a few years. However, the reception is quite nice with very pleasant staff who were more than happy to help. The room, while adequate was surprisingly basic for a 3 star hotel, the shower was very underpowered resembling more of a leaking tap, although soap and shower gel were provided in handy dispensers. The mattress was very soft resulting in some back pain the following morning, again seeming neglected and ready to be replaced. I can't really review the quality of the food as I wasn't prepared to pay £10 for breakfast or £13 to £19 for a main course meal, especially when the sides were an extra £3.50 to £4.50 each (a side salad costs £4.10). This was definitely a no brainer when there was a Toby Carvery only a 5-10 min drive down the road costing approx. £13 for a full carvery, desert and a drink. I do believe the hotel is adequate, but not justifying a 3 star cost. They also need to take a serious look at how much they charge for food/drink, as its definitely not worth what they are charging.

Hotel is great food is good only issue is there are no lifts and a lot of stairs.

Really enjoyed our stay. Room was really nice especially with use of a bath. Staff were really attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend it.

Big room and reasonable price for three people. But, no plugs for the EUROPEAN travelers. Some customers shouted and made a big noise after midnight.

If you want a quiet nites sleep forget this place. Very noisy doors slamming late into the evening. I'm here now and was woke up by inconsiderate people at 6am on a Sunday. Shame because the rooms are quite nice.

Surprised at the price. Rooms clean wide open space and fair pricing for food. Staff seemed happy. Had a decent nights sleep so that's all I can say!

Cheap but cheerful. Look to be redecorating which gives the rooms a nicer feel.

I want expecting much for the price we paid but the room was clean, comfortable and had a good shower. Very good budget hotel.

A very reasonable price but keep your expectations low. Room was clean enough and had good extras such as iron and ironing board. However it is all very basic. The bed wasnt very comfortable. I would have given this three stars but I was given a hard sell to buy breakfast. I shouldnt have to explain why I don't want a pricey 9.99 breakfast.

Room smells of smoke and generally run down.

Had the misfortune of having to stay here whilst working away. The room itself was what you would expect for the price, However there was very loud music pumping out from the bar all night and what I can only assume were drunk guests running and shouting up and down the corridor. In the end I had to put my earphones in to drown out the repetitive beat from the bar. Not ideal when you have to be up at 6am. Which brings me to my next point, breakfast does not start until 8am, considering I had to be up and out early it deemed it pointless, EVERY other hotel chain iv ever stayed at starts serving breakfast early. Left this place feeling tired and hungry, would rather have driven the 2.5 hours home and back.

Excellent value for money, all staff are friendly and helpful. The free sauna and steam room is an added bounus. The only downside is breakfast seems on the expensive side.
