First visit today! Wow! Amazing pies/suet puddings! My meal was just completely delicious and the staff really lovely and friendly. Will definitely be back!

We had another great meeting here last night with some of our bike club OldSkool 53 ♠️Always a warm welcome, great banter, good food and beer, what’s not to like?

Staff and manager were incredible!
Had us feels welcome and laughing the whole time.

As someone who works in a 5* establishment, we appreciated the armosphere in this pub. The staff are mad hatters, the music was great, decent priced drinks, great period pub. Fantastic place to visit. Please do not listen to the odd negative comment on here, the majority of positive reviews are true and out weigh the odd down review.

Very friendly, welcoming pub, made us and our little dog feel very comfortable and the fish and chips and scampi and chips were very tasty and great value.

My colleague and I stayed two nights at this place. My God, it is utter disgusting. The bathroom was laced with cobwebs and spiders and being that I know a fair bit about arachnids, it's troubling that the bathroom had not been cleaned in at least a month. The owner is not only very rude, but also displays a lack of thought for conversations suitable within the workplace. Coming up to us, asking if we're gay, (not that there's anything wrong with that) which not only shows a huge lack of professionality, but also shows how rude she is. The final night of our stay and after waiting nearly a full day for the bathroom to be cleaned after asking, she then probes us further by asking if we're gypsies. Disgusting attitude and a horrible woman. Do not attend this place to stay, drink or eat as you may end up leaving the place with a new disease. Grim.

A very good peroide country pub excellent surroundings and serves great food.

Great place, just off the A12. Lovely beer garden to the front and rear. Fish and chips, with salad highly recommended. Nice dog friendly pub, which is well worth a visit!

Nice historic buildings, clean tidy room, quirky cupboard under the stairs bathroom, good full English breakfast, good central location, friendly helpful staff.

Gem of a place, amazing pies, pool table juke box (rarely seen these days), 2-3 real ales, well kept beer. Lovely setting, lovely garden. Friendly locals type place.

I'm not on Facebook so I'm using my Sons! The pub was very nice and welcoming with friendly staff. I went for a private party in a separate room. This was decorated nicely and clean. The big let down was the food. We paid for a buffet for £10 a head so in all over £200 what we got is cut up pork pies, crisps and dips, cooked mini sausages and what I can only describe as slimey sandwiches. I think it was tinned crab, ham and dairylea all with cucumber. Very disappointing and most people were very hungry still as the food wasn't appealing to eat. We all felt ripped off. Julia.

Very friendly staff. We only went for tea and cake but the lovely lady set us up by the fire with a table for my slightly disabled mum. Will be back for good next time.

Nice country pub, recently under new management, has some accommodation and a small resteraunt with a limited but nice menu. Bar and resteraunt have wood burners. Pet friendly! Owners and staff are very welcoming. Well worth a visit.

Our two night stay in this lively local inn provided great food and drink. So warm and welcoming with amazing hospitality. Well worth a visit.

Nice atmosphere, attractive inside (its 14th century). Food was good, nice choice of food, with some nice extra touches, and well cooked.

Fantastic place, the bar staff have a incredibly dry sense of humour, the self degradation however is insignificant, which when it comes to drinking is immaterial. The beer is outstanding as is the food.

First visit and had a meal with family. No complaints about meal or venue.

This pub is a little gem! My boyfriend and I turned up tired and hungry with a little dog in tow and we received such a welcome! Nothing too much trouble. Delicious food, plus live music and. Sparkling toilets (ladies you know how important this is! ). Thank you for making our night away in Suffolk so enjoyable xx.

Absolute find food beautifully cooked veg not al dente or overcooked will be going there again and recommend it to anyone going through Yoxford.

Wow! This was unexpected! Remember when you used to have a proper local! This is it. Great drinks and beer and the restaurant is pleasant and we'll decorated with a huge fire place. The menu is straight from the 80's / 90's. Not a criticism because it was priced about the same. Honest food with more than a fair price. Scampi, pie, proper burgers (no stupid brioche to fall apart). Such a find because we ate for under 21 quid! No complaints at all. If you want to pay a fortune for little helpings and fancy foods it's probably not your thing. But for a family meal of simple dishes well cooked you will love the place. Made me miss my youth a bit, I'd forgotten what a real local was like (there's so few left now it's all gastro pubs and charging over 25 quid for a main. Don't get me wrong we will still enjoy both but it's nice to have something simple (I smile at the thought of a prawn cocktail at this point). We will be back with the kids next time.

We had been for a walk round the fascinating village of Yoxford looking at all it's unique buildings and came across the Griffin that had a huge sign up saying hot drinks served and a log fire! With the temperature hardly above 0 it was just the invitation we were looking for! We only had a cup of tea and coffee but the landlord was very friendly and obliging as were the locals in there too! And the fire was very cosy too! Although there is no chef at present a new one starts 16th January! The pub has a lovely warm inviting feel about it — we'll have to come back for a meal!

Me and my Fiancee went there as we were staying locally in the Satis House. We went for the Griffin for just a drink, but because of its lovely warm atmosphere we stayed there for dinner and dessert. The manager and staff were so friendly and helpful. All food homemade and fresh. What a lovely lasagne that was. I would recommend…
