Just visited for drinks and to explore the menu on a pleasantly sunny day. Some sort of a small function (birthday? ) was just exhausting itself but we were able to order a couple of cold pints at the bar which is situated in the original mill, with waterwheel and millrace exposed behind glass. The environment is very welcoming and the rooms have been tastefully designed and decorated. We took our drinks to sit outside on the verandah facing the (stagnant and duckweed covered) mill stream. The balcony is contemporary and looked good however the tables had not been cleared, either inside or out and discarded cups and saucers were liberally scattered around. There were sufficient staff to address this as one (who was unable to serve alcohol) walked past the used crockery display several times with empty hands as did two colleagues who didn't appear to notice/care about the gathered detritus. Enjoyed our drinks, and had a look at the (extortionately priced) menu, for the previous evening, which appeared a little more than pretentious. We were advised that the menu for that evening wouldn't be available until 1800. The food would have to be bloody good for the price as the service — as evidenced from our visit, at least — certainly fell far short of fine dining standards.

Three of us treated a very good friend to afternoon tea for her 60th birthday. A little disappointing! Sandwich fillings quite basic two of which I do at home regularly, a very small fruit scone (one of the group doesn't eat fruit) and a huge chunk of banana bread which totally out of place for the occasion. Surpised it was all served on flat platters & not a tiered cake plate. Such a shame as service from staff & ambiance of venue was excellent.

Interestingly converted Mill in a small village North of Newmarket. Not cheap, but food and ambiance very good. Pleasant grounds for a stroll and lovely views from the Mill across the pond. Adjacent road busier than expected.

Lovely Inn and has some very nice looking lodges in the grounds. We only had drinks good service friendly staff.

Went for dinner a Tuddenham Mill, never been before. It's a lovely location only a few miles of the A14 between Bury At Edmunds and Newmarket. The restaurant itself is upstairs in the old water mill building, and the mill wheel and stone are still there built in as part of the the room with glass floor lights so you can see it comming up from below, a lovely touch. My wife has gluten and dairy intolerance, and this was catered for easily because all the food is freshly cooked on site. The food itself was excellent, each course arrived with what I considered a sensible amount of time between them, and there is a good selection of contemporary food and drink available at not unreasonable prices. The food I had was superb quality with a beautiful blend of flavours cooked expertly and I would happily eat it again. The service was also first rate with good with communication between serving staff covering both the food and the drinks, and the lady at the front of house being welcoming and accommodating to our every need, even having a chat with us at the end of the meal about her time working there. There is a real pride in what they do at this restaurant and that should not be underestimated. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening in picturesque surroundings, we came away very happy and would highly recommend giving it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I have enjoyed dining here in the past (also with my dog) but tonight, with 17 hours notice, they cancelled our birthday lunch celebration for 4 friends tomorrow because there was an "exclusive" wedding party and had omitted to inform us earlier! No offer of a rebooking or compensation, just "very sorry" (cheap words). I am sure the "exclusive" wedding must have ejected several other diners at short notice. I and my friends, who are regular customers, will not be giving them the benefit of our custom or recommendations again.

Awful Sunday lunch two times running. We received a gift voucher for two for Sunday lunch, we’ve been before several times and couldn’t fault it. However went about a month ago and it was awful. My partner had mussels to start which were gritty and chewy.

We stayed mid-week in one of the meadow nooks and eat in the restaurant that evening and for breakfast the next morning. Everything was really good — the accommodation, dinner (we treated ourselves to the taster menu and flight of wines), breakfast, service. All very good. We have stayed at several other hotels in this price bracket and have come away disappointed — not so here. We will definitely be back again.

Lovely venue. Lovely staff and beautiful food. After a couple of visits we decided to book our wedding there and Honey and the team didn't disappoint. We will be returning soon to the Tuddenham Team.

Our first visit to the Mill the staff was very very friendly very helpful and the food was really of top quality we definitely will be going back there again.

Lovely quaint hotel/restaurant. Located in the countryside, on a stream as it is a water mill. The restaurant is quite cozy but has all the amenities. We attended a wedding there and food was quite nice. Also has some cottages if you need to stay overnight.

An excellent two night stay in the Mill Stream dog friendly room. Fine food and helpful staff. Even a dusting of snow to wake up to today.

Oustanding at every level. The staff are all very professional and very friendly, always going the extra mile. The quality of the room is top notch, immaculately clean and decor understated and soothing. The food is wonderful, especially the full English breakfast. Can't praise this hotel highly enough.

We took the Nook with hot tub and had a fab stay. Nook was cosy, classy and romantic and with the hot tub was great fun. Staff very friendly, efficient and polite, great service. Bit expensive but worth every penny. Will save up and come back again.

Great location. We went to see the reindeer and father Christmas.

This is a very quaint place. An old mill at which you can stay. There is a choice of rooms. We stayed one night in a nook… which is cosey and cute. It is a pricey place so be prepared Great for a special occasion. Staff are great … bar staff fab. This place has an extensive wine selection. Breakfast was great. Lovely setting… a good summer venue. Highly recommend.

Whilst the rooms were good, food excellent and the beds perfect they really should invest in fly screens for the rooms as our room was swarming with them as soon as we opened the door or windows. When asking for fly spray they produced a bottle right away which made me think that this is a re occurring issue. If thats thr case then not good enough I'm afraid especially at £350/night…

A second home from home, just cosier. We tend to go there a lot, in winter, for coffee on Sunday afternoons. We spent a few NYE there too. A few chefs cooked for us: Paul & Lee come to mind. But always, quality and excellence where on the menu, as well as in the rooms. Little attentions to detail like a complimentary sloe gin bottle on the side table (I know where I got my addiction from now), and a chat with the chef go a long way to make you feel extra special and wanting to come back… Highly recommended!

Meeting room good, although could do with HDMI connection for projector. Reception staff were efficient and attentive. One of the waiting staff needs to find out what the words on the menu mean.

Beautiful setting. Food OK. Not stayed in room but look nice.

Attended a Wedding reception Sunday evening. A small 8'-00" table was set adjacent to the car park with plates and candles followed by no more than ten small plates of food. Within minuits it had been emptied and we were informed by staff there was to come. Shortly after we were told there was no more. The majority of guests were left without food. £8.00 for a single glass of nondescript prosecco? Recommend you take your own food and drink to have an enjoyable evening.

We ate in the restaurant this time last year, and then again this evening. It was great to see that the food is still incredible, however, the service was not at all good compared to last year. The waiting and bar staff were very slow and disorganised and the older staff seemed really moody. They booked us a taxi which they failed to mention would charge us for his drive to tuddenham from Newmarket. Really disappointing service, GREAT food.

Stayed for one night, with friends, after we'd been to the races at Newmarket and the facilities, staff and food were excellent. Two minor quibbles, the pillows were too soft to be of any use at all and the prices were more Central London than rural East Anglia.

Beautiful place with beautiful food. Staff are very friendly and polite. We stayed in a 'Nook' room B&B with complimentary juice, coffee and sloe gin. Lovely views.

What an absolutely phenomenal place to stay. The room was gorgeous, full of little touches that really made the experience special including complimentary sloe gin and homemade biscuits. We stayed in a Meadow Room and the view was absolutely stunning. We also ate at the restaurant which was life changing, the quality of the food was beyond anything I've ever had before and the service provided was wonderful. I can't recommend this place enough.

Really nice food. Lovely garden/grounds — there were swans walking round when we were there. Plenty of parking.

Perfect venue for our wedding. Picturesque and beautiful. Food, drink and service always excellent. Am yet to stay over in one of the rooms but they all look amazing.

Awful experience. Poor room quality. Overcooked and overpriced food. No common areas to relax in. Staff attitude was dreadful. I would avoid.

We stayed in one of the loft suites and it was a perfect bolthole for a romantic anniversary break. The staff all seemed lovely too. Not just pleasant and polite but genuinely happy.

The setting is amazing and the interior is really top notch both modern and inviting however the food is just plain bad. The steak I had was nothing more than a frying steak and was rare despite me asking for medium, the portion was also extremely small. My wife's fish dish was lack luster and the desserts didn't even seem finished as I could still taste the egg in meringue like it was beaten correctly. Overall paying over £100 for something that tasted a lot worse than something I could made at home is simply outrageous. There are giant signs as you pull in stating there is a new head chef, maybe once this place was good to eat at but certainly not now.

Expensive, but worth it. A converted mill provides the main reception, bar and restaurant area and the outbuildings the rooms all in stunning grounds. The staff are friendly, with nothing being too much trouble. The restaurant food was just fantastic with a superb wine selection. The breakfast was just the right sized portion and tasted perfect. Would I stay here again? Absolutely.
