4* Golf / 1*Hotel & Restaurant From arriving for our 2 night 3 day stay, the service in the bar was extremely poor. We waited over 20 mins before we had someone take our order. This does improve of an evening due to an older guy who Marshall’s the staff well. Although clean, the room are dated but still comfortable. The major downfall of Thorpeness is the restaurant, the staff and customer service. Evening meal, half of our group received mains prior to their starters, half had eaten both before the other had received their starters even though all were ordered together, not to mention the tables not being cleared between courses. Breakfast was truly shocking, 40 min wait, toast undercooked, soggy black pudding, fatty bacon, undercooked eggs, we had it all. We were also told we would have to pre order our evening meal for the evening at breakfast, even though the restaurant accepted walk ins anyway. We had to decide at 9am what we wanted at 7pm. Golf great, hotel so much potential, restaurant, woefully lacking. If you want to play here, I would advise staying local elsewhere.
We stayed in a superior double which was ground floor with a private courtyard
I loved the room so spacious and the garden area was just perfect both for us and our dogs. Breakfast was lovely and thought it was good value for money
Although it was very hot during our visit our room was perfect for sleeping and there was a fan provided
We are looking forward to our next visit
The village of Thorpeness was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay.

We have just had the most wonderful Christmas break the staff were amazing the food was excellent and the golf course is great just a shame the weather didn't hold for us on Boxing day but would highly recommend lots of lovely walks around as well.
