Rooms are traditional the breakfast and service is very good with the owners being very welcoming.

After reading so many good reviews I have to offer a reality check on our own experience. Big room yes, sea view yes, however, dated decor, furniture and carpets, no better or worse than any average b&b anywhere. The window wouldn't open properly. Bedside lamp broken and a shower that required a degree in plumbing to set to a normal temperature! Breakfast ended at 9 (nine a. M)! — on a Sunday? And checkout at 10. Not much scope for a post breakfast promenade stroll on a Sunday morning there. The website claims a 4X + rating? Having stayed in many 4, and 5 star hotels, this claim is let's say " a tad" extreme. We had stayed in the Victoria hotel before here, streets ahead of the Britten, 200 yards actually but in terms of facilities and comfort?, worlds apart.

A lovely place to stay. The owners are Friendly and helpful who provide a first class quality breakfast catered to your personal needs. The rooms are immaculately clean, warm and very cosy. Good internet connection and small fridge that comes in handy. I have had a good nights sleep in a nice comfy bed all week, with no distribution or noise. A nice clean beach is within a one minute walk, and there are a number of nice place to eat or drink. All of which have been very welcoming. I highly recommend Britten House and will defiantly be stopping here again if I am back in Lowestoft!

My wife and I stayed at Britten House for 3 nights while attending a course. We could not fault the visit. The room was a lovely size with a double and a single bed and were extremely comfortable. The furniture was all very good quality as well. The hosts were extremely nice people and served fantastic breakfasts to us each morning. We would unequivocally stay here again as it's excellent value for money.

I received a very warm and friendly welcome from the owner, which is always a good start.
My room was absolutely lovely, with a large 4 poster bed, a sofa and a table and chairs in the bay window with a beautiful sea view. Lovely ensuite. And a gorgeous breakfast before I left in the morning.
I'd definitely recommend staying here.

We had a lovely few days at Ann & Colin's beautiful B&B, excellent hosts, breakfast was delicious, Britten House has so much character & history. Very comfortable accommodation. We will definitely make regular visits back for a very relaxing break.

Lovely couple, lovely location. If you can get a sea view room it's great! The breakfast is freshly cooked and huge! Well worth a visit.

Worth the consistent high ratings. Our room was comfortable and well maintained — breakfast was astonishing — probably hardly worth mentioning, but the wife suggested that would prefer a little more light at the dressing table.

Excellent B&B. Just the ticket when staying in Lowerstoft. Ann and Colin are marvellous hosts.
Great breakfast, nice to have a menu and I enjoyed my poached Haddock. … Comfortable bed and nice size room. We were fortunate and had a great sea view as well We will be back. Finally it was pleasing to note that it was the childhood home of Benjamin Britten.

Very comfortable, clean and friendly place. On the seafront and near to the town. Private parking and also easy access to street parking. Some history too, clue in the name.

Me and my daughter have had a lovely few days here. Colin and Ann, the owners are lovely, friendly and very helpful. Nothing is to much trouble. The rooms a good size and the beds are so comfortable! The en suite is large and the shower easy to get into if you're disabled. They even have a stool you can use Well what can I say about the breakfasts? They are just amazing. Cereals, fresh fruit salad, jam (made by Ann herself) outstanding. The breakfast can keep you going all day. All cooked to perfection and serves together by Colin, no waiting around. There's an assortment of tea and of course coffee and fruit juice and while you are enjoying all of that you can look out across to the beautiful sea view. I'm sure I've missed something but if you're looking for somewhere to stay that's amazing value for money stay here at Britten House the birth place of Benjamin Britten! I have no doubt we'll be back!

Lovely hotel, spacious rooms, lovely breakfast and a real lovely welcoming couple. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Nice and friendly people, lovely breakfast, wonderful room. Good location with brilliant views. Bit cold when we got bad to our room (was 2am though) and the beds were a tad squeeky! Other than that I would highly recommend.

We have just spent a weekend at Britten House. What a fantastic place. Everything you could need is there, food is brilliant and Ann and Colin are perfect hosts. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lowestoft. Sue and Bob Lowe.

Single traveler. Stayed one night and could not fault the accommodation and Colin and Ann were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, everything freshly cooked and even home made preserves. The room was just right with a well equipped modern bathroom and comfortable bed, I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

I travel the world and prefer to stay in B & B's. The Britten House is at the TOP, if not the finest most accommodating places I've lived in. Friendly, Caring and HIGH Quality all in one package! Nice work!
