Staff, Lucy in particular, are very rude. The whole bridal party was very upset at the way we were spoken to. So disappointing as the venue is beautiful but not worth the headache on what should be one of the most important days of someone’s life. Avoid!

Swinfen Hall made our wedding perfect! From meeting with Sarah who was amazing at putting together a personalised day for us to meeting Lucie, the wedding manager, who was fabulous at making all the necessary arrangements to make our day perfect! Nothing was too much trouble for her and she was always professional as well as personal. Thank you for making our day the best day ever! We appreciate everything you did for us. Rebecca & Dale.

What a lovley Day in a gorgeous setting, Covid restrictions in place so we felt extreamly safe. The Staff were ALL amazing nothing too much trouble. The entertainment made the day extra special and the food well I ran out of superlatives for the food the cakes were all delicious thank you for an amazing day.

Fantastic experience and would definitely recommend. Beautiful historic building with a wonderful ambiance. The vintage tea was a joy.

We got married here last June and it was everything we wished and more. From the start as soon as we walked in the doors we knew this was our venue thanks to how lovely Stuart was. On the day they made sure everything went so smooth we didn’t need to worry about anything. Thanks to Michael on the bar too he was amazing. Just couldn’t of picked a better place to get married. Can’t wait to visit for an anniversary meal when we’re finally able to.

Had our wedding here on the 7th of march. The day blew my mind. Then venue is stunning and the bridal suite is gorgeous. The food was absolutely lovely. Lucy made sure the planning was easy and stress free Sarah was all ways on hand if we had any questions and Micheal made sure the day ran smoothly. All the bar staff were very friendly and polite. I'm so thankful for the wonderful service I received from all the staff made me and bride feel special.

I had my wedding here on 7th March 2020 it was incredible! I can’t recommend swinfen hall enough! The staff are amazing, the venue is absolutely beautiful. My husband and I had the best day of our lives everything went smoothly everything looked outstanding I can’t thank the staff enough. We stayed over for 2 nights after the wedding so we could relax before the honey moon, the staff have been so good to us making sure our stay was perfect too. Sending everything we needed up to our rooms checking we are ok serving us the most amazing food! I honestly can’t thank them enough. I will be coming again for food out and weekends away.

Friendly staff. Warm welcome. Love the fact we got showed to our room and a fresh cannister of milk to make hot drinks. Very well furnished and cosy room.

The hall is absolutely stunning, particularly at Xmas time, and the staff were extremely professional and friendly. Could not fault a thing.
We look forward to being back there for Xmas day lunch.

We recently got married at Swinfen Hall and just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to the whole team. Our day was perfect and ran so smoothly from start to finish. We couldn’t have wished for a better day! The food was absolutely delicious with many guests commenting on it being “the best beef they had ever tasted”.

A pleasant afternoon in beautiful surroundings. Staff are extremely professional but still personable and the food is both presented and created perfectly!

What a fabulous evening. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the taster menu was exquisite. What a treat. If you get a chance to visit even just calling in for a coffee it certainly is worth a visit.

Had a very lovely vintage afternoon tea here today. With live music from Simon Partridge, who we could have sat and listened to for way longer. Really couldn’t fault anything. Excellent food, service and atmosphere.

Came here yesterday for my nephews wedding. A lovely place full of character, a lovely terrace to sit out at the back and we were even lucky enough to see the deer there. My sister and I are both coeliac vegetarians so gluten free, but the food for the sit down meal was brilliant and we didn't feel as though we had to "make do" at all. Even for the buffet style food on the evening, which was burgers, sweet potato fries, coleslaw and cake, they made us both separate burgers and the staff serving knew what we could and couldn't have. It was just so nice being able to eat for a change. A beautiful setting, lovely food and amazing staff. Definitely recommended.

Attended a wedding there. Lovely atmosphere. Upscale and classy. Felt like at a kingly party :) Edit : Just an addition since this review is getting a lot of attention. For some reason the taxi places had the hardest time finding a big, probably very busy wedding venue. I don't know how that is but we waited over an hour for a taxi in the middle of the night after the staff called them for us. So if you're ordering taxi maybe be prepared to order your own and offer direction. Maybe we just got unlucky. There was a lot of people leaving before us in taxis too.

We married here in 2006, and made the best memories, thanks to Swinfen Hall. I have yet to find anywhere else that can provide the same quality of service, food, welcome and stunning surroundings as Swinfen. I cannot recommend it enough. We still return annually for our anniversary and enjoy the experience just as much. Wonderful staff, beautiful food, gorgeous hall.

Fantastic hall with loads of character . We had afternoon tea, delicious like no other afternoon tea I've ever had before. Even better that the Ritz. Staff attentive and helpful.

Used the hall for my father's wake. Unlike moorhall hotel Swindon does not charge room hire. We had the afternoon tea and several times due the afternoon we asked if we require more tea and coffee. Service was excellent and we did not fell rushed.

We held a surprise birthday party for my wife. A fantastic setting with a touch of class. All the guests commented on how special the house looked and the room itself met our needs in everyway. The advance planning with Hannah was great, nothing was too much trouble and advice offered on the best way to arrange things. On the actual day the staff could not do enough to help me and support in getting the room ready as I wanted it, they helped to ensure the surprise went smoothly and without a hitch. All the staff were pleasant, looked smart and helpful to everyone. There was never a long wait at the bar to get a drink, tables were cleared quickly and guests needs attended too. All the guests had a great time. Thank You.

My sister & I had afternoon tea bought for us by work collages as a treat & it was wonderful. The staff couldn't do enough for us & the food was delicious. Didn't feel rushed or harassed in anyway. Would recommend it.

Swinfen Hall has played a central role in my family's history — from weddings, funeral wakes, anniversary celebrations, birthdays, New Years, Christmas, Easters and many other special occasions… the rooms are wonderful, the grounds attractively manicured, the staff friendly and accommodating and the food is exemplary (If ever there is Beef Brisket on a menu choice, go for it — you won't regret it! ) So many precious memories here and even more to come. Definitely recommended. Try the gourmet nights, stay for a delicious breakfast or treat yourself to a delicious high tea — you won't regret it.

Wonderful wedding venue. Stunning place and picturesque grounds. The sprung dance floor was a novelty. Bedrooms were a tad on the small side but on the whole a great experience.

I attended a wedding at Swinfen Hall and the venue was beautiful, catering was excellent and the staff were helpful. The venue does close quite early around 12:00pm but our time there was most enjoyable.

Stale food and an arrogant manager. Not good value.

I love Swinfen Hall. Sure, there are other hotels which have been created out of large halls/stately homes, but none are as good as Swinfen Hall. The staff are great, they seem to know everyone by name, whether you have been there before or not. They are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. Everything you want from staff at a hotel. In my opinion, one of the most unique things about Swinfen is that it doesn't feel like a hotel, it feels much more like you are a guest of the Lord of the manor, which is a very difficult thing to achieve. The food is really great too. In short, if you are looking to be transported back to the early 20th century to live like Lord and Lady Posh for the weekend, this is the place to go.

We really enjoyed our stay.
