Nice sized room in a quiet location. En suite and Wi-Fi, as well as other necessities included. Friendly host, and a fresh breakfast.

I have never left a Google review for anything. Ever. Simply because I have never felt particularly compelled to, for anything. The Prospect House was supposed to be a reasonably priced 'somewhere to sleep' while my partner and I enjoyed walks in around the Derbyshire Dales for the weekend. What actually happened was that the accommodation turned out to be very much part of the weekend. Being a B & B, I was not expecting much and the fact that it was reasonably priced meant my expectations were moderate at best (my ignorance showing). The rooms are small cabin-like structures around the back of the main house. They are really something to experience. It's difficult to describe accurately in words but they are far more homely than a hotel room and feel far more private. They have electric fires, nice furnishings, careful presentation of the amenities and are decorated with a good level of character without feeling cluttered. The owner was warm and friendly and showed us around a bit on arrival, greeting us at the gate, which was nice. There was a lounge area which had everything from a fridge and microwave (should the need arise) to books and board games if the mood takes you. Breakfast was cooked perfectly (in my opinion and I was a chef for 16 years) and again, the owner made sure that our teapot remained full and provided just enough conversation to show consideration for his guests without imposing.
