Nov21 just had a wonderful stay at The Carpenters Arms. A stunning building, delicious cuisine, wonderfully clean, extremely pleasant and professional staff. We cant recommend enough.

We booked a birthday Sunday lunch for 13, this included 3 children. The menu offered a good variety of food all fabulously cooked and the portions were generous. We were allocated a room to ourselves which meant we could all relax and the children had room to play. The decor is beautiful and adds to the lovely atmosphere which is enhanced by the fantastic and efficent staff. I definitely reccomend this place and will be using it again.

Just had Sunday lunch here and it was incredible, the staff were all friendly and extremely attentive, the roast 5* especially the cauliflower cheese which was a welcome side, will definitely return very soon.

The Carpenter’s Arms Stanton Wick. Have been here Many times over the last 20 years and it’s still remains a fantastic pub to dine and drink. Beautiful quite setting with lovely garden, cosy yet stylish interior without losing the old world charm of a stone built traditional country pub/Resturant will continue to visit well into the future.

We love this place, the food is excellent and the staff are exceptional always available if you require anything.

Lovely Sunday evening meal with friends. Good food that was served very quickly. Friendly service. Ate in the restaurant rather than the Coopers parlour. Had a great table in an alcove which made it feel like private dining.

A real pub goers pub. Rustic and charming with a roaring log fire in the colder months and a warren of dining areas. We have been there on a number of times for family lunches and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on each occasion. The Sunday menu is fairly limited, but the food is of well above average standard and the service quick and friendly. The Doombar beer-battered fish and chips is a real winner, and the sticky toffee pudding is to die for.

No complaints about the food it was excellent, my only compliant is that having booked the previous day and spelled my Surname to the person taking the booking that when we arrived there was no booking made, after waiting for a few minutes we told that they could accommodate us but not being shown to a table in the restaurant we were taken to a large back room with several tables with no other diners with no ambiance at all, and being a dinner out for my partners Birthday wasn’t what I had envisaged.

Lovely and beautiful country pub, with a well decorated front and side patio. Very cosy inside with woodburners. Had a couple local ales and ciders on tap and some special offers on gin and tonic mixers. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try the food menu.

Staff are friendly, place is well presented. Lovely food and seating area in the beer garden is also fab. Can't wait to go back.

Myself partner and two children Enjoyed a delicious tender beef dinner today — meat was cooked medium and very moist! Roasters were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the in! Veggies good to perfection and the creamed cabbage was a treat! Great village setting in a traditional beamed building! Prices around £14.00/£14.50 for roasts — Would definitely recommend for a country pub roast — a regular favourite for us!

Just had excellent lunch: smoked salmon and avocado starter followed by Asian Chicken, both delicious. Pleasant ambience and good service. One of the best pubs in the area. L.

We had a lovely two night stay at the Carpenters Arms. The food is excellent, great range of drinks and the staff are all friendly and accommodating. The rooms are of an excellent standard and beds very comfortable. Will definitely be going back for another stay in the future.

We stayed at the pub this weekend and it was a fab place, can't fault the friendly staff with the service and the log fire was great with the Cold weather. Evening meal was good a limited menu but saying that there was something for all tastes, we had breakfast one morning and was lovely and well priced at £10 per person … I work for a major hotel chain so I'm critical of a lot of things but couldn't fault this hotel so well done the carpenters arms were defiantly returning soon.

Sadly it didn't live up to expectations for our special occasion. Rather limited menu and two of four steaks had to be sent back to kitchen. Not good value for over £166. Would have complained more but didn't want to spoil the occasion.

Beautiful Old Pub with loads of period features. The room was newly decorated and done so well, sunny and comfortable. The staff were so polite and friendly even though they were busy! Food delicious both breakfast and evening. Not cheap, but still good value. I will be going back!

Fabulous country pub. Log fires in winter. Beer garden in summer. Food is delicious especially the slow cooked beef (keep it on the menu even in summer). Bedrooms spotless with an interesting placement of Windows. One downside is that the Wi-Fi needs improving. Other than that brilliant.

Great pub good service from the bar but the steaks only come with chips! 4 of us had the rib eye steak at £20 each and were all shocked to just find a steak and chips all though it was a lovely steak to not have a tomato or onion ring or even mushrooms was a joke, we asked about this and were told it’s extra, we checked the menu and it’s an additional £5 per head for a tomato onion ring and mushrooms, so £25 for a normal mean that in most pubs would be £15-20 all in, if you paying hat much may as well go to a posh restaurant etc, it’s a rip off never I. My life have I seen this you would expect to pay extra for sauce for steaks etc but not a flipping tomato! There’s a pub called the angel in Ashton and you can have the same quality steak for £13-14 with all the trimmings I wouldn’t go back unless for a Sunday roast as it’s good but still pricey.

A group of us stayed here whilst attending a wedding nearby and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! The facilities are great and the staff are so welcoming and hospitable. The breakfast was also amazing and such good value for £10! We'd definitely stay here again.

What can I say, this is the most helpful, relaxing place that I have stayed in for ages. The food, staff and rooms are fabulous. If you want a peaceful weekend away then this is the place for you. One last thing, the breakfast is just fab.

Had a great Saturday lunch here with family, very comfy restaurant with a wide ranging menu. They catered for all our dietary requirements (3 of the family are gluten intolerant) but the menu had sufficient choices anyway. The children's menu was also good with our 2 boys (6 and 8) enjoying the sausages, chips and peas. All the food was presented well particularly the fish platter which was looked very impressive (and was very tasty apparently). The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all a great dining experience and will definitely be going back.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Carpenters Arms. The rooms are lovely & the selection of tea & coffee excellent. We ate at the Carpenters Arms for both nights & the food was beautiful & although more than you would pay for 'pub grub' this is not pub grub, but restaurant quality food, so really good value. Good beer and a good wine list. The breakfast is really good too & sets you up for a days sight seeing in Bath. Thoroughly recommended. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Stayed here a couple of times now working. Very comfy rooms. Great food. Just everything is right. Cannot fault anything about this place. Feels very homely.

Had a lovely quiet sleep here. Wonderful character inn in lovely countryside. With open fire, super tasty traditional breakfast, (none of your big hotel chain buffet plastic fodder here! ) Bit off the beaten track but definitely worth a visit. For the chaps a nice selection of real ales to wet the whistle. Bedrooms comfortable, homely and with everything you need. Will definitely come again.

Everything was ok, but with a little extra attention it could have been wonderful. Everything was just a little rushed, Chicken a little dry, Thai Green curry very Sharpe, needed another hr to cook, Pork loin passable. We didn't bother complaining as I'm sure most folks would be happy, but being used to excellent, it fell short.

Had a lovely evening meal with my Husband, it was a shame I was heavily pregnant as struggled to find room for such lovely food. He keeps meaning to book us in again, the food was truly fabulous and good range of local ciders and beers.

Four of us had a great meal here. Not a chip in sight — all the meals were imaginative and clearly some thought had gone into what side dishes went best with which meal. We all had 3 courses, a round of drinks and 2 good bottles of wine and we paid £135 which we thought wasn't bad for the quality of food. Starters £5 — £8, Mains £10 — £20 (average about £14), Desserts £5 — £7 Staff were friendly and service was good. Booking ahead probably essential as it was busy. Will be back.
