Great location. We booked an Autumn break which was very good value. It included breakfast and dinner. The food was excellent, compliments to the chef! The staff were friendly and welcoming. Lovely comfortable room. Covid precautions were in place and we felt safe throughout our stay.

A very lovely hotel, comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Food in the hotel's restaurant was amazingly good, I would certainly recommend the lamb as a main. The hotel is located right in the heart of Bath, ideal for walking to see the sights and perfect if arriving by train as the station is right across the road. The hotel seems to have dealt really well with the Covid precautions, no where felt crowded.

We stayed for two nights, dinner, bed and breakfast. Food very good and service brilliant. The hotel is well situated to explore Bath, which is a wonderful city. Gowns and slippers in rooms, plus proper coffee, teapot etc, so you can make decent cup of tea. Igor made me a great raspberry bellini on our last night.

Civilised bar and good bar food. No Table service which was a bit odd but very nice.

My husband and I have just had two wonderful days in Bath staying at the Royal Hotel the food was exceptional beautifully presented hot and delicious the staff were amazing nothing was to much trouble we will definitely return thank you Ron & Kate Whitworth.

Friendly staff, very clean, friendly atmosphere. Fabulous food. Nothing too much trouble. And they keep your luggage when you arrive early and keep it till you are ready to leave. Our second visit and will go again. Very convenient for the town, literally 2 mins

The staff are very friendly and approachable as well as qualified for their work place, the hotel it self is well laid out with open plan seating to relax with a cold drink or for a meal it comes highly recommended to all who visit bath.

Pleasant place to stay B&B in Bath. Opposite the railway station but surprisingly quiet inside and close to car parking. We had, I think, the smallest room in the place but it was clean and comfortable for two, with a bright bathroom and good shower. The only place I've been recently with real coffee in the room. Staff were friendly and welcoming and breakfast was lovely.

Perfect location, OK price, great breakfast. The staff let us drop off our bags before check in and leave them there after check out making exploring Bath much easier. Will definitely stay again.

The perfect end to a perfect holiday in Bath! We visit the Royal each year to eat and the food is consistently excellent as is the service! The Lamb rump was one of the best I've had and the folks loved the chicken. And try the white chocolate and amaretto brulee. See you next year.

We had a very relaxing stay at The Royal Hotel in Bath. It was close to the train station, with luggage storage prior to check in. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and well-equipped. The breakfast, which was included, were also delicious.

The Royal hotel Bath is a truly wonderful hotel to stay in. I loved the food, great barman, great place to stay. I think this hotel is a true gem in Bath, I have stayed a few times and would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone, they will make you feel so welcome that's why I love it. Great location as well.

Good price Good food best location possible for Bath. Walk out straight into the main shopping area. Building is beginning to be a bit dated but becomes irrelevant by the quality of service and price.

A comfortable well located Victorian hotel. Not your usual bland chain hotel, but with more character. Clean, tidy, good food. A very pleasant stay.

My friend and I booked this hotel through wowcher for a weekend break. We couldn't fault this hotel, it's always a bit worrying booking a break through a deal in case it's awful but this truly was exceptional. The gentleman on reception was so friendly and fun, he even lent us his fan for the second night of our stay as the room was warm at night! A special mention to Hari that works in the bar and restaurant, he never seems to go home! He was so friendly, very professional and extremely hardworking! All in all, the hotel food was great, the cream tea was yum, the room very clean and comfortable and cleaned daily. It's by the train station and on a road so it's bound to be a bit noisy at times, it's an old building so the floors creak, the lift isn't working at the moment (but they offer to help take your bags to your room) and maybe the decor looks a bit relaxed but if you want a hotel break close to amenities, shops etc with excellent staff, food etc then I'd recommend the Royal, we will be back.

Met a friend at the railway station, crossed the road and went here for a quick drink. Stayed there chatting for about five hours, haven't seen each other for a few years! The place was nice and peaceful. We had a lovely red wine and the food was delicious. Nice barman serving us too. Would definitely visit again.

Perfect staff, perfect hotel and perfect food. … need I say more. Love it. Building is Grade 2 listed so improvements are restricted. Any complaints are from awkward customers. This hotel has a dedicated list of satisfied clientele.

Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Happy to take left luggage and 25 meters from the train station.

Excellent food and very friendly and helpful staff. We spent a lovely weekend with friends. The food was plentiful and of excellent quality. Look forward to a return visit so that we can see more of Bath.

The hotel is in a good location opposite the train station and steps away from all tourist spots. Rooms are nice in their decor but perhaps a little more space is beneficial. On the ground floor, there's a restaurant and a bar, which is quite expensive. The hotel closes doors at 2300, and you need your keys to access the building.

From start to finish the staff were wonderful and the manager even helped us dig our car out of the car park this morning! Restaurant staff both at dinner & breakfast were very attentive & helpful as were the receptionists. Food was lovely, great selection & very hot. The snow unfortunately limited our exploration of the lovely City of Bath & our cream tea at the hotel but as Arnie says "I'll be back" lol and we will definitely be booking The Royal for our stay. Went for an anniversary visit last year and what a let down. The room was ok, but really nothing special, clean but outdated and dirty windows. The hotel is in need of updating in places. The food in the restaurant was gross, I complained to the waiter and he took the drinks off the bill, it was orange juice! The breakfast was really grim, burnt toast, burnt everything really, over done, and greasy. You never wish to pay to stay somewhere especially on a special occasion when you could do much better at home yourself. These hotels and B&B's need to get it together, people go out and spend their hard earned money for a treat, not to have to complain about things that are so simple to achieve. Would never ever stay here again, it was laughable. Like a bad case of Faulty Towers.!

Great value deal with afternoon tea, glass of bubbly and bottle of wine with evening meal and full English breakfast. Staff all lovely and very helpful and attentive. Room fine, spacious and with an en-suite shower. Location excellent opposite train station. Thanks for an enjoyable stay!

Just back from a Saturday nights stay. The room was lovely and lived up to its superior status.
Afternoon cream tea was delicious and went down a treat.
The evening meal was 5* the lamb was cooked to perfection and the cheese board was excellent and I took advantage of adding a cheeky port on the side. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious. All staff, especially the restaurant staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The only downside was being disturbed by fire alarm going off at 0100hrs due to someone using a George Foreman grill.
Otherwise I would have given an overall 5* rating.
But that aside we would definitely return.

Nice rooms and great breakfast. We had a deal that included cream tea and 3 course champagne meal for 2 each night. Staff were really friendly and the food was good. Not great, but definitely good value for money.

Clean room, comfortable beds but disappointed we were on the top floor with windows too high to see out of and this was supposed to be a superior room? No bath, noisy pipes in the shower room. No room service available which we were not informed of until we asked at 8pm, continental breakfast very disappointing. Rude staff at lunchtime turning us away for lunch.
Will not be returning, have stayed in far better hotels in Bath.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. The food in the brasserie was delicious and the staff helpful and friendly.

A beautiful Hotel right opposite the station and in the heart of Bath. Very clean and friendly staff apart from the young barman you refused us a last drink at 10.30 even though the brochure states that last orders on a Sunday is at 11pm. Our food was on the whole outstanding apart from out steaks of which where very gristly and on the menu it stated mushrooms and vine tomatoes but we only had one small one each. Beds very comfortable and I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Only stayed for one drink due to needing to catch a train. Service was excellent and staff were friendly. Everything was perfectly clean. Located opposite the train station so a good place to catch a drink before travelling.

Fantastic location right outside the train station and just a 2 minute walk down the road from the Manvers street car park. Just a 5 or 10 minute walk from the historic centre, the Roman Baths and most of the main sights to see in the city. Also good value for money, especially if the rooms have reduced prices. Our family room was well-equipped, with comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom. Staff were polite and helpful. There is a lift that accommodates a maximum of 2 people if heavy luggage is a problem going up the stairs. A good choice for an overnight stay or a weekend break in Bath.

Very good location. The interior looks old fashioned so it depends on what sort of stay you want. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice. Staff were very friendly. Very nice stay and would recommend it.

Warm, friendly atmosphere with a decent enough drinks selection. Only minor criticism is the fee for card transactions under a tenner. It's 2017.

Had a long weekend in bath with my partner had a lovely time at this hotel that is very central for most things will stay here again great place.

Good size of the room, old style but feels tradition. As a foreigner people, liked it. But the only thing annoyed me was the Wi-Fi is too slow, and no 4G, 3G, even 2G phone internet. So better do every check while you need before arriving.

Just staying the one night in Bath, and this was great for us, as it was within our price range and provided a car space for a small additional charge. Got a very warm and friendly welcome when we arrived. Room is beautifully decorated. The king size bed is very comfy. Only drawback is that the Wi-Fi keeps dropping out from time to time. A lovely place to stay.

A very convenient location right by the station. Hotel was fine, breakfast was very nice. All the facilities you'd want, but an aged building so creaky and 1970s décor. In a busy part of town, so lots of noise outside from drunk people about 2am. They have limited parking spaces, so you will need to book parking in advance, otherwise use one of the pay and displays down the street.
