We got married there and all the way through Karen Thompson an Frances have been fantastic will all the planning organisation. There staff are all helpful polite and outstanding in every way. The food quality is excellent and they are definitely family friendly. I would 100% recommend to anyone and can't thank the hotel enough for making our wedding day so special.

Told to pre order meal, meal cooked way before we arrived obviously warmed up in microwave, told the reason was because cannot have more chefs because of social distancing, diabolical excuse restaurants don’t do this, staff couldn’t care less will never use these again appalling customer service, on arrival was told we were upgraded to a room with a view, really having a laugh couldn’t swing a cat in the room and a train going by every half hour is the room with a view, Would recommend everyone stay away from this place because they don’t careless.

Went to limpley stoke hotel for my brother and sister in laws wedding… lovely place and staff couldnt of been more welcoming and friendly if they tried.

Lovely pre Christmas weekend with my sister. Lovely hotel roaring fires and Christmas Trees. Friendly staff, comfy beds lovely room. Dinner was very good as was breakfast. Will book again.

Lovely room but the hot water took about 10 mins to come through the shower and the windows were filthy I don’t think they have been cleaned in months.

Good sized room, comfy bed and nice food. Friendly staff.
Only minor downside is there wasn't a lot of ventilation in the room and the shower was either boiling or freezing.

Good location, the facilities were good, what I expected really not disappointed. I would recommend the hotel for families as well, a good spread for breakfast.

Had a meal event with 22 others. Menu choice was varied, serving efficient and discreet, food tasty, room and decor pleasing to the eye. Self contained so no interference. A satisfying venue.

Lovely place. Had my daughter's wedding reception here and it was wonderful. Everything went like a dream. Food was super and staff so great. Fabulous day.

Exterior of hotel was lovely. Room was small and disappointing white floersent light (ugh) toilet roll dispenser 5 feet from the toilet. One light above did not work. Could not get WIFi and was told area was bad nothing they could do. Staff accommodation across the hall overwhelmingly smell of pipe (or similar) smoke. Hot weather maybe a fan could be provided. Zero recognition of being Best Western elite members.

We stayed here to attend a wedding near by. The hotel in good condition and the staff friendly and helpful. However, we visited I. July in the midst of the heatwave and the hotel could benefit from installing ceiling fans or air-conditioning in the rooms. We acquired a fan but it didn't help. Aside from this the food was good and the location very beautiful.

Room was clean and well decorated but small, bathroom was tiny, issue for us was a standard double bed and not the king size we have had previously at this hotel. We did end up with a member of staff bursting in at 8am as they believed the room was empty. So not a great stay — certainly not up to the normal standard we have come to expect from this hotel from our many previous stays.

Located about 6km from Bath, the location of this accommodation is not terribly convenient for tourism IN Bath… but it worked just fine after a short visit. Late arrival prevented me from seeing much of the place. The room was small with twin beds that didn't stay put… so I had to be careful getting into the bed. There was no AC… and it was quite warm… and there was a parking lot light directly below my room, attracting bugs. Luckily, a little rain suppressed them, a bit… but sleep did not come so easily.

Nice hotel but room is very basic and small. A few extra luxuries like air conditioning would be nice. We did use Tesco club card vouchers so can't really complain.

BW — Best Western = Beware Weddings! We missed the warnings and there’s no consideration for non wedding guests. All the public areas are dominated by drunk wedding guests. We took refuge in the Hop Pole pub in the evening unable to make use of the hotel. Music pumps through the hotel. Luckily for us we were on the 2nd floor and we could still sleep. However I’m glad this hotel has found a way to survive but you have to decide to be one thing, a wedding venue only for a period of time and not try and combine both. The damage of post like this will do its damage.

Beautiful hotel and grounds on the outskirts of Bath. Room was clean and well presented and the food and service was excellent. We were part of a large wedding party so I would recommend that you check if there is something similar going on during your visit as that may hamper your experience.

I stayed here for one night on business the hotel is within reach of the historic city of Bath yet set within beautiful countryside there's plenty of onsite parking and its a quiet location my room was large with a decent sized bathroom with shower in the bath a complimentary range of shower gel and shampoo a king size and single bed very comfortable flat panel TV the view from the room over the rear car park if I was to stay again I'd request a front room with views over the valley getting to the rooms is like being in a maze. I ate in the restaurant 3 courses £26.95 good value for what was on offer I have to say the food piping hot and beautifully cooked the waiters were all very polite and eager to talk you through the menu. You get a good choice of breakfast items from the buffet or there's kippers, smoked haddock omelette to order also vegetarian option again waiting staff polite in fact all the staff and management very professional if I'm ever in this area again I will stay here.

Fantastic customer service. Being celiac, I can't eat chips which are cooked in oil shared with other foods due to the risk of cross contamination. A lot of places are stuck in this scenario, however at this hotel they proactively offered to pan cook them… And they were yummy! They also delivered a fan to the room when my girlfriend was overheating because of the weather. Lady at reception very helpful. Overall great location, nice building.

Love this place getting married here next year. Some amazing views and the best price I could find for a wedding. Karen the wedding organiser is amazing and I would highly recommend getting married here.

Expected it to be a fancy country's hotel, but it turned out to just be a hotel miles away from anything. The bed gave us both a back ache by the morning, and the room let in so much noise and light, we barely slept for the couple of hours between every going to sleep and fhensun coming up. The food was very nice though, so a couple of stars for that.

Lovely hotel in a fantastic setting. Had a beautiful view over the nearby river Avon. Bath is really close. Breakfast was really good. Room was vlean and the bed very comfy. Not sure about the bar as there was a wedding on in the function room next door — which just took over everything. Lovely pub at the bottom of the drive. Super food and beer. The Hop Pole is definitely recommended.

A wonderful stay. You couldn't choose a more stunning location. Service and amenities were far beyond expectations. Breakfast excellent. Welcoming and efficient staff. Recommended to anyone visiting Bath, a quiet village location away from the traffic and bustle of the nearby city, close to park and ride facilities.

We held our wedding at Limpley Stoke Hotel and we could not have asked for better service. Our wedding planner Karen was outstanding, she answered all of our questions and queries and made us very relaxed throughout the whole planning process.
Karen ensured everything ran smoothly on the day and we barely knew she was present which demonstrates how efficient and effective she is at her job. It was amazing to see everything we had discussed in conversation with Karen over the past 15 month come to fruition just as we had envisaged.
The staffing team were fabulous and the service was excellent. All our wedding guests commented on how lovely the hotel is, referring to the vintage and rural atmosphere.

January 27th 2018 our daughter and new son in law got married at Limpley Stoke Hotel. We all had a fantastic experience, the staff were brilliant and food was great, and lots of it (my family are good eaters). Things could not have gone any better. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Mrs Sandra Hazelton.

Very clean rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Good value for money. Good range of breakfast choices which are kept topped up to the end of serving time.

We have our Christmas party here and, as always, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The parties are generally good — the food isn't what you'd call fantastic but then they are catering for probably 100+ people. The rooms are nicely done and the breakfast is very good. A good place for a base when staying in the Bath area.

The young man who checked us in was indifferent, to the point of rudeness. One of the others in our party had a similar experience. Lovely room but very cold. We had to ask for the heating to be switched on (again, others had a similar experience). Decent breakfast, but out tablecloth had obviously had something spilled by a previous guest, and it hadn't been changed. Dinner in the evening was average, at best. We were guests at a wedding in the hotel: my main course — risotto — was inedible. I would not dream of recommending this hotel.

Attended a work function here before Christmas. The food was acceptable and the setting & decor of a good standard. Service was satisfactory.

I stop here regularly and am always pleased with the service, room and food. Set in a quiet location perfect for walkers / ramblers although I use it for work purposes.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Restaurant did not have a variety but the lounge came in handy and had some good food options.

Recently got married here and it's an excellent place with an amazing view. All of the staff were hard working and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and worth the money.

We got married here on the 23rd September. It was a perfect day the staff were amazing. All of our guests were very impressed with the food, it was excellent. The staff dressed the rooms exactly how I would have, the place and the views are beautiful. I would definately recommend it. The pianist and dj were also the best I have experienced at weddings.

Was here for my stepdaughters wedding and from checking in to checking out it was a pleasure to be here. It is a lovely old building in a beautiful location, our room was lovely and we had a fantastic view from our window across the Avon valley. All the staff were very helpful and nothing was to much trouble and they made the wedding go very smoothly. The food was excellent and the breakfast is the best I've had in any hotel so much choice not just your standard English. Would certainly Come back here again thanyou to all the staff.

Stayed here on Saturday and Sunday, there was a wedding on each night which I was not told about when booking. As there is only one bar it was awkward getting a drink with a wedding party using the room.
Bed and pillows were so uncomfortable and the room felt dated and needed an overhaul, tea stains on the walls. Stayed in room 44 and even though we kept the window open the room smelt "funky". Low water pressure so showering was a nightmare. For £103 a night room only I expected better.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
I would not return here, a premier inn is cleaner and more comfortable (plus cheaper).

Lovely hotel in a great location. Room 63 is small and the view is awful. Apart from that, no other complaints.

I'd like to write a funny review of this place, but I'm too hot to deal with it right now. There's no A. C. I probably could have read that, so that one is on me. You know what else was almost on me? The 3 and a half inch spider that was in the bathroom when I got here. The entrance to this hotel is nice, and the staff seems fine, but that's about it. I don't know if there's a wedding going on everyday, but there has been since I've been here, so I'm going to assume there is. This is a problem because the parking lot has maybe thirty spaces. I've had to make a parking space every time I park my car. This was also a problem because I saw one person yelling at his wife in the parking lot because someone parked behind him and blocked him in. If you're unlucky to get a room on the third floor, you will have to carry your luggage up some very tired sounding stairs. Also, heat travels up, so expect the hallway and your room to be pretty toasty. The room looks something out of a world war two era novel, except there's a flat screen TV on the wall. My room is fairly small with not a lot going on in it. The view is probably nice unless you're in room 63, which another reviewer accurately pointed out that you have the view of a shed and a dumpster. I can't hear the party from my room which is nice, but other reviewers have stated that they can't sleep because of the noise. My bathroom has a door leading to the attic on the ceiling.

The room we stayed in, 63 was the top most room. It had a view of the shed they use for storage. The bed was terribly uncomfortable, as you sit on the bed, the springs from the mattress does not support your weight so you sink and hit the box spring. When you lay down you can feel the springs in your back. Not quite what I would expect for 75 pounds. Maybe 50. The views are nice if you have a room with a view. Reception was nice enough. It was a below average stay and I do not recommend it ifor a stay.

Lovely, well cared for Georgian building in a very picturesque setting. Staff were very helpful. Rooms of varying quality but represent good value. Would definitely go back.

The Best Western Limpley Stoke Hotel is a gorgeous country hotel surrounded by tall trees. The public areas of the hotel are stunning — the main corridor is chandelier lit and the bar area is modern and fresh. Our room is up in the eaves on the third floor, and the lift only goes up to the second floor. If you're disabled (as I am) you will struggle up the two floors of steps from the second to the third floor, so I'd recommend you ask for a lower level room. The room itself is fine, not the best I've had but certainly not the worst. The bed is a comfortable double. There's a desk with chair, a pair of bedside tables, a small tea and coffee making area, a built in cupboard with a suitcase stand and extra pillows/blanket. The shower is a tiny walk in (there's no bath) and it's about 10 inches off the floor, which is very difficult to navigate when you're wet, especially as there are no grab bars at all. There's no step to aid you getting in either. My husband booked the room without taking my needs into account at all, and for an able bodied person this room would be great. I'd definitely come back to this hotel again but in a more appropriate room for me.

Beautiful surroundings. Lovely hotel, we were on the 3rd floor bit of a rabbits warren but worth it, fab room. Lovely bar food and the gentleman on the piano was really good. Will definitely return.

I stayed for one night with work. I loved the area, very picturesque. The staff was friendly and helpful, there was a live piano music in the lounge in the evening and a resident cat put up an appearance. Food was good and came out relatively quickly, the room spacious and comfy, if slightly too warm. I would recommend.

Although we have some reservations about this hotel they are all overcome by the efficiency and helpfulness of the staff and the excellent food. The hotel is an old building and in places looks rather tired but the bedroom was clean, well organised and the beds were very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was not good and the shower was over the bath so stepping in and over without a grab rail (I am disabled) was difficult. The bedroom light did not work but was repaired quickly. The chef is a star — we ate in the restaurant three evenings and the meals were excellent with a good choice, good value and wonderfully hot and service was excellent. A wonderful view from our bedroom on the second floor, good parking and lovely grounds. We can recommend a stay here.

Visited the hotel to attend a wedding, food was fantastic, great views and overall a fantastic day. Bar prices were a little steep though.

The rooms was quite small. The shower was weak. The steak I ate in the evening was poor. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. Given how cheap it was compared to the surroundings it was tolerable.

Hotel is situated in a nice location, and looks very welcoming. Our room was clean and had everything you need, including a comfortable bed. The only thing that let down my experience, is that there was no breakfast included in the room price. Maybe it's just me, but for what we paid, it would have been nice to have a breakfast. Would I stay again? Probably not.

Brilliant staff, although drinks were expensive and main room wasn't large enough for all guests. However very warm and friendly welcome, and very well managed.

This a definitely a 3 star hotel. Best price in the Bath area, and located in a quiet village. People trying to check in are confused if they have prepaid or not. The property shows its age — carpet stains, dodgy lift, etc. Note: if you don't shut your room door completely a terribly loud alarm will sound until you close it. It's a really odd safety feature. While you're staying here you'll here the alarms go off and people curse while they slam their doors.

Location was fine as it's a cheap taxi ride into bath. Accommodation left a little to be desired, no clock in the room and the window was broken, also a very squeaky bed.

Stayed at this hotel for work several times over the past three years and cannot fault it. Getting there can be tricky the first time as your Sat Nav may well try to send you down very narrow and steep roads which may be more suited to pushchairs rather than cars. My advice is if your Sat Nav tells you to turn off the main road before your have crossed the river then ignore it until you have crossed the river bridge, then take the next left. There is still a steep hill to access the hotel but going this way will avoid the risk of meeting oncoming traffic in places you don't want to meet traffic. The rooms are excellent, I have found the first floor to be the nicest but all are good. Views from the most of the rooms are excellent. Breakfast is great and the breakfast lady (I believe her name is Mary) is very helpful and also has good local knowledge as she is from the area. The bar has a tendency to shut at dead on 11pm unless it is really busy but this is only to be expected. Although we have eaten at the hotel several times and the food is excellent, we tend to go to the pub at the bottom of the hill. I believe this is owned by the same people as the hotel so it doesn't put anyone's nose out of joint and it is a friendly local pub, if not a bit small! The pub has been recently taken over since the previous manager sadly died and I believe his wife moved back to her family — we haven't been in there since, but based on his running of the pub it was excellent.

Lovely staff and good service. I stayed here for business purposes which the hotel is very suitable for as all the expected essentials is in place. The internet was a bit slow some times but what can you expect. Based on the location I would however most recommend the place for a lovely holiday at the country side. Walking in the area takes you back to a different time period and everything is very well maintained in the area.

Beautiful surroundings, room was a lot smaller than I thought. Tv in room had bad reception and was not watchable. Beautiful hotel unfortunately there were two weddings on whilst we were there so the bar area was over crowded. Staff in the restaurant were helpful but were limited in the English language. The pub at the bottom of the drive was a lovely retreat but again it was over crowded on Friday night due to a stag night. Taxi into bath city for 6 people was £18. Good value for the money Beautiful city. Going back in July.

A few things you need to know before booking. Our double room was very clean and comfortable it look as though it was recently redecorated. We were on the second floor and it was lovely and quite with an excellent view. However the public area's are need of some tender loving care a good lick of paint is in order. Just be aware that the hotel is quite remote although it is only about 7 minutes’ drive to the centre of Bath it costs on average £12.00 one way in a taxi.

Stayed at the Limpley Stoke Hotel for one night to break up my trip form Cornwall to Norwich. Hotel was excellent with all facilities that you would expect and the pub at the bottom of the drive serves fantastic food and real ale. I will stop off here again on my return journey.
