Another lovely visit. The room was very nice, bedding beautiful and such a comfortable bed. The food was sublime as ever, wine lovely, great service (thank you all, but especially to Jack). Great way to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. Highly recommend a visit.

What an amazing experience from start to finish!
We arrived early and was able to check into the room early — it was no problem 🙌🏻 The room was across 2 floors with wirlpool bath & roomy shower.
The dinner was amazing, scallop starter and cheese course were the stars 👌
The chef got everything spot on and the service could not be faulted. We had plenty of time between courses. The fishcakes for breakfast were gorgeous!
If I had to find something to improve would be background music in the dining room (was great at breakfast) but thats just me. Thank you — we will be back 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Excellent restaurant. Fantastic service and the food is superb. Good portion size — we were stuffed after 2 courses and couldn’t manage dessert. Highly recommend the scallops as a starter and main courses were excellent too 👍

Great Sunday lunch with spaced out tables making atmosphere intimate and safe. Choices of dishes made it difficult to choose from. The Marathon dessert was a chocolate/peanut heaven on a plate! Need to book again!

Excellent service and food today for Christmas dinner.

We had a lovely night away, and an excellent dinner. The young lad who was waiting was thoughtful and friendly but unobtrusive. We felt comfortable and relaxed. Covid restrictions did not spoil our little night away but we over slept missing breakfast as the normal hotel guidelines which you would find pre-covid in the room are no longer there. Not the hotels fault… we wandered into Uppingham and found a lovely place called 5elements where we had coffee and pastries. A little shopping in some delightful unusual places. Our first night away in several months as we have worked all the way through this horrible pandemic. We both feel as if we have had a recharge.

Welcoming, professional and friendly yet unobtrusive service. Imaginative menus suiting vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal as always. Can’t think of a better place to celebrate my birthday!

Absolutely incredible food and drink on a weekday lunch. Exquisite for people who are, so often, demanding and hard to please. Thank you.

Fabulous food, quiet mid-week so lacked a little atmosphere, and service was perhaps a little too fast, not much time between courses, staff were quite serious but did warm up as we chatted to them, we'll definitely go again, lovely to have such a great restaurant in town.

We stayed here this weekend for my grandmothers 80th birthday and had the most wonderful stay at the lake isle. We were very well looked after by all the amazingly pleasant staff. Absolutely stunning rooms and food.

Lunch for 13 of us and really enjoyed it! Food was great, service was wonderful and we all enjoyed ourselves.

My husband and I booked a room with whirlpool bath for our 6th wedding anniversary. And we weren't disappointed, the room and the bathroom were lovely, not the best view but nice and bright and clean, we really liked it. I made the mistake of not booking a table for an evening meal when I booked the room and they were fully booked, but we had a large lunch out earlier in the day and had snacks with us if we got peckish. The staff were very nice and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

A real treat. Lunch was inspired without being too showy or overplayed. Tasty food served well and reasonably priced. Pickled raisins with a grilled Mackerel fillet-innovative!

We went for lunch today after we went to the Aqua Park in Rutland not far away. It really is a little hidden gem… the food was amazing. We had three courses, lamb was incredible. Only came to £69 for three courses and two drinks. Amazing quality, waitress was also fabulous. V quick service.

Average food — the owner Richard was extremely pompous and rude. He belittled his extremely friendly and courteous staff on two separate occasions whilst guests including myself were dining. Not acceptable.

Accommodation on split levels was well-appointed and sitting area useful addition compared with other boutique hotels. All staff a credit to Lake Isle: owners, Victoria and Richard especially helpful and patient. All dining of exceptional standard and wine-cellar extensive.

I regularly stay at the Lake Isle and can not fault it. I travel with my job and stay in a lot of hotels. The Lake Isle is a fantastic place to stay, the staff are extremely friendly and make staying away much more pleasurable. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and very well maintained. The food in the restaurant is exceptional and not your usual generic rubbish you get in many hotels. I can't recommend this hotel enough, beautiful hotel, lovely little town and gorgeous country side. What more do you need?

Excellent meal, 6 of us for my wife's birthday. Great service, nice and relaxed. Superb food, great wine at a reasonable price. I can't fault the Lake Isle for anything, a very enjoyable experience .

Superb service and excellent food. The staff are incredible, the way you are greeted is so important and often overlooked at other restaurants. To be met in such a friendly and helpful manner always sets the tone, a very good one at that!. The food is exquisite. I'm not one for taking photos of my food but make an exception at the Lake Isle. It is a pleasure to look at the food before eating it! It is genuine high quality food with a twist. We are always delighted by the attentiveness of the staff and the superb food. Please don't forget Lake Isle, let me know if ever you want to sell that pine settle! Thank you Mark at Rutland Antiques Centre.

Review is for Hotel only. Fairly standard room, no bells & whistles. Ideal if you just want to rest your head. Ample parking around the hotel.

With my wife, son and his partner for meal to celebrate my wife's birthday. Been before so new what to expect but as always expectations exceeded. Something for everyone from a small but regularly changing menu. Excellent food, brilliant service and a special night to remember. Thank you very much everyone at Lake Isle. (If you haven't been yet you should go! )

Hotel was beautiful, in a lovely location. Staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. Lovely little room we had afternoon tea in with lovely views out onto the street. Only downside was parking but we managed to get a space but the staff were very helpful at helping with alternative places to park. Would definitely recommend and would visit again if the opportunity arose.

Best food, best restaurant for miles around. Not cheap but why would it be, good value for the quality nevertheless and compared to prices paid elsewhere locally it looks very good value. This is a top class destination.

Only used the restaurant for a promo evening meal — all aspects were excellent.

Stayed here one night on a Dinner B&B basis in July 2008. Had the room called Beaujolais (No 9). It is a superior room with king sized bed and although the bedroom part is smaller than one might perhaps have hoped for something described as superior, the bathroom was superb — jet bath and huge power shower — with amazing space to pick up the soap (! ) and the meals were out of this world. Really lovely menu and excellent food. This hostelry is still being expanded to fit the building and it promises to be really excellent. Sherry and fruit in the room all waiting to be consumed! The included dinner includes at no extra charge your choice of anything from the a la carte menu and the included cooked English Breakfast next day was magic (two eggs, with fried bread, black pudding, mushrooms, tomato — everything except beans). Didn't need a lunch after that! We had a hiccup with the wrong wine being presented at dinner but even though we only noticed after it had been opened (and in fairness we had said OK on it being shown to us — because we hadn't our specs on at the time) there was no problem — it was changed for the one we ordered. Would certainly go back again.
