Great hub in Chilwell Nottingham. Facilities are OK. I’ve been a member since May and my main gripe is that if something breaks, it’s broken for ages. Some of the equipment is limited so this can be particularly annoying during busy times. Also, housekeeping could be better. Dust seems to always be on top of the equipment. All that aside, it’s a good gym and the team are all friendly, say hello and always seem happy to be there. The pool and changing rooms are always cleaned regularly and seem well maintained.

Great gym and surprisingly well kitted out for a hotel facility. Clean and spacious and extremely good value.

The same standard as all of the Village gyms, being a lorry driver who's away all week my membership works for me.

Excellent facilities and knowledgeable friendly staff and trainers. Recently refurbished pool and jacuzzi.

I’m normally not a person who complains too much, however, how long does it take to make chips?! I ordered food at 8:30 and it’s currently 21:20 and I’m literally starving! We’ve al been there, had a few drinks, feet are in bits and the only thing that’s going to make me happy is a bit of food. Seriously, the food needs to hurry up, I ordered chips… not caviar with champagne.

After staying in various Village Hotels around the country I was appalled at the state of the “family room” that I had booked two nights in. The room was very grubby with a strange odour, the child’s bed looked like a prison mattress that had been thrown in the corner of the room and totally unacceptable for a two night stay for a 12 year old to sleep on. I spoke to the receptionist about changing rooms or booking another room but was told they were fully booked, however online bookings showed various other rooms still available. I therefore cancelled my stay and booked into a nearby Premier Inn which was far superior to the village room. If you are booking a family room with only one additional child then the Village Hotel rooms are totally unacceptable. I will continue to use other Village Hotels, but would never book the one at Nottingham.

The first room I was allocated had a really strong damp smell. I asked if another room was available to which I was told you were fully booked at first but after half an hour or so another room was found. Apparently it was a "newly refurbished" room and so had no phone line. When I entered the room this clearly wasn't the case. The ironing board was still up from the previous guest, the room smelt strongly of aftershave, and the handset to the phone was missing rather than no phone line. Still, it was better than the damp smelling room. I ordered room service (at the bar as the phone didn't work), when it arrived I sat to eat it but the chair sank to the floor. The gas mechanism wasn't working and the chair wouldn't stay up, so I had to eat my dinner low to the ground while reaching up to the desk. I thought I'd watch some TV,,, There was no remote control so I couldn't turn the TV on. This was 9:25pm at this point. I had a Caesar salad with chicken, the chicken was a bit tough and chunky and there was way too much Caesar sauce. I had to shake the lettuce leaves to get the excess sauce of so it wasn't too sickly. Towards the end I was left with a pool of Caesar sauce with a few lettuce leaves and soggy croutons swimming around. Put less sauce on it next time! After eating in silence and low to the ground, I went to reception to ask for a remote, he advised he couldn't leave reception and would get one to me 10pm, the end of his shift.

Great quality room & food. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, lovely clean room, lovely swimming pool, shame about the grumpy woman who thought she owned the pool!. Catcher!. Children had a fab time with the floats etc. Friendly staff. Absolutely excellent all you can eat buffet breakfast, good quality food, hot buffet, cold selection, granola, yoghurt, fruit, pastries, many fruit juices etc. Couldn't ask for more. Will definitely be back soon.

I think this hotel and gym is an absolute joke. I lost my job and cancelled my membership here. As it states in the contract you can cancel if you show proof… which I did via email to be told this if fine and a form of management would contact me. Instead they got arc to send me court letters saying I ow the village hotel money. They are nothing but liars and I think it’s disgusting how they do this to people just so they can get more sign ups I’m guessing. I’ve been hung up on by them and then told there’s nothing they can do. Do not get out gym membership here! Useless. Rude. Liars. I hope your happy about the way you treat people.

2 day stay. Entertainment was good. Food was surprisingly fair to good for the price. Buffet breakfast was as you would expect, frustratingly the flow between hot and cold didn’t work. Nice pool but no kids after mid day. Staff accommodating. Main bar was slow and under manned.

Stayed at the hotel on the room and meal offer. Room was comfortable and very clean. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Pool and gym were also excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Been here numerous times and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel now has a lot of changes since my last visit, I don't like the how they have done away with the reception desk, I like the personal touch with your arrival, the new way is a little impersonal. The room was very clean, but only had one bath towel and one hand towel with a foot towel. We called housekeeping and they provided us with extra towels and we also asked for extra coffee and milk. You have the use of the gym, pool, steamroom and sauna. They also have a restaurant, bar and Starbucks on sight.

I've stayed here a few times now, chain hotel but still good. Couple of small issues but sorted in minutes. Although I've still to use them they have superb fitness facilities, a very nice looking swimming pool and huge Jacuzzi!

Very low value for money. Room unclean … most shoddy bathroom have seen in hotels. The steam after shower stays there for the whole day. Shower stops every few mins and you cannot get constant water supply. Window not clean. Bed is not good too. Only good thing is availability of the sky channels but I had not gone there to watch TV but to rest… Leisure centre is good but for kids. Steam and sauna stinks. Jacuzzi isn't powerful either. I would not go again… 100% sure.

Had the club room which was great. Huge TV with movies on sky. Gym is also included with the club room which is very good. Lots of equipment and great pool with steam room sauna and jacuzzi. I didn't eat here but it's close to haveli Indian restaurant which is the nicest curry I've ever had!

Great hotel together with a deal with evening meal and breakfast, it's good price too. We also paid extra for the spa facilities. Which is getting a refurb soon (according too a long standing local member). I recommend a masarge! Can be quite noisy if you get a room near the entrance and there happens to be an event on. Which is every weekend apparently.

Good hotel with nice rooms. Having to pay extra to use the gym was a negative. Bar was pretty expensive also. Room was good overall.

Very enjoyable stay at village hotel Nottingham. Lovely clean room with large tv. Toilet facilities clean with shower/bath and toiletries provided. Breakfast is the usual excellent standard for this hotel group. Self service full English and continental selection. Which should satisfy the most fussy of eaters. In conclusion an enjoyable, relaxing stay in tranquil surroundings. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. And always greet you with a smile which just adds to the overall pleasure of the stay. A very enjoyable stay.

Beautiful hotel, warm & welcoming staff that were super helpful. Great interior & plenty to do around the hotel — decent gym too! Food in the restaurant is well worth it if you're not going out to eat & conveniently located to nearby shops & retail parks.

We visit the hotel weekly for our children's swimming lessons. The facilities are mostly great but the family changing room is small and tends to smell in the cubicles, also because it only has one shower the kids have to queue or usually we just take them into the ladies for a shower and then back to the family change to get dressed — it's not ideal. We have been told we have to use the family changing room if our children are 7 or over, so during lessons the room is quickly over-filled and we are often without a cubicle and I have to change my children out in the open. In addition the present system for getting into the family changing room is not great, we have to be buzzed in by the receptionist but if there is a queue or the receptionist is on the phone it can take a considerable amount of time to get access making us rush for lessons.

A lovely hotel, stayed for a conference overnight. They have a starbucks downstairs the room clean and well laid out just wish my room had a power outlet by my bed to charge up but no big deal. Great showers and overall decor was clean and modern. An overall nice place to stay the night and would love to stop by again.

Fabulous party night with the West End Jerseys. Lovely meal and great service. Well worth it. I am so pleased I am going to book the next one. Loved it!

Rooms are great and the bed was very comfortable. Wifi is good and there is a lot of facilities. Staff are not the best. Booked two night but had to check out the first night so I could be moved into an upgraded room the following day. Come checkout they advised they kept the room for me. Very inconvenient.

What a great hotel. Staff really nice we had a meal and was so good. Breakfast the next day was very good with lots of selection. Will tell friends and family to go there.

Location is inbetween the M1 j25 and Nottingham. Free parking was easy and the warm welcome was brilliant. Unfortunately the heating in our room was broken, they couldn't fix it so upgraded us to a club family room which was massive. Staff were very professional and friendly, the food is the restaurant was also excellent. This morning we visited the spa and pool which were also top notch with helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this.

Friendly staff, very accommodating as they allowed me to check in over an hour early. Love the idea of all the amenities under one roof, wasn't a huge fan of the in house pub food and hygiene. Lovely room, found the little alcove by the window a nice touch. A tad annoying there is no main light in the bedroom, I had to get ready in the bathroom. Also a disappointment to be next door to some loud neighbours, that decided to run up and down the hall and started having intercourse when I was attempting to get to sleep. Other than that definitely worth the money, when returning to Nottingham this hotel would definitely be an option.

Bigger room, big TV, big Wi-Fi, big walk from reception. Good breakfast. Great gym. Some train noise but much quieter than downtown hotels. Slightly awkward heating controls.

As a fitness member at The Village Hotel, I can say that the Gym and fitness suite rooms are fantastic. The swimming pool is large enough for a good swim, its not too deep either so suits all. A steam room and sauna room are available all the time and well looked after. The Jacuzzi hit tub thing is also nuce once in awhile. The restaurant and bar have plenty of food choices and drinks, always some kind of deal on as well such as £1 burger fridays. Local shops are within a few minutes walk too.

The Village is a great hotel, with plenty of facilities available for guests. The drinks are very much on the pricey side, a glass of wine, cider and an orange and lemonade came in at over £15. The restaurant food is very expensive, not sure if the quality was there az we didn't try it. The bar had a good selection of food as a cheaper alternative, a local pub called the Corn Mill is a great choice should you want an alternative to the hotel. It was a long walk from the lobby to the room the shorter was outside in the cold and dark… The rooms themselves were very nice, very large TV screens and comfortable bed, modern bathrooms as well. Overall very pleased with the stay!

Lovely rooms that are clean and well put together. We stayed Friday and Saturday night in a club room and I would definitely reccomend gym and pool access because the steam room and sauna are great for nursing a hangover. the food in the restaurant was great on the Friday night and the all you can eat Sunday lunch was faultless, they had small cold starters to help yourself and soup on request. Main was carvery and dessert was crumble on request and cold desserts to help yourself to including ice cream. Only downside was the cost of the bar at the event. We also asked for a bottle of sparkling wine, received a bottle of what appeared to be still and when we queried it were assured it was sparkling. We then opened it and it was still, went back to the bar to complain and were told that it was the closest we would get at that bar.

Lovely hotel building however there were a number of failings that made our stay far from perfect. Food in the hotel was poor with little choice. The noise from the functions that were on both of the nights we were there kept us awake until midnight because the windows although double glazed did not seal correctly and therefore let a lot of noise through and once the functions had finished there was a steady trickle of very noisy guests passing the bedroom doors until 3am.

Lovely place to stay. Rooms very comfortable. Food good. Staff very pleasant. Great location for nottingham and derby.

Village hotels offer great leisure facilities and good rooms for the price. There are often special deal to be had too. 30m swimming pool, pub and restaurant food available. 4 star is due to the restaurant where I feel the food could be better.

Arrived quite late but reception staff was very welcoming. Room quite spacious and reasonably priced. Only gripe was waiting at breakfast. Stood there for.

We love village hotels! Fantastic for families & the staff are fab! :) This particular hotel has got a train track that runs behind it (you can't hear it) but it also has a road that runs over the track. A short walk and my train crazy boys get to wave at the trains by the crossing!

We went to a Tribute Night which was fun, good value and something we had not done before. The evening started with a three course meal. Then the ABBA Tribute Act sang while people danced and joined in singing. It finished with a disco.

Stayed at this hotel last night. Very modern layout… loved the reception area and that you can self check-in. Really nice rooms… lots of space and good powerful showers. I was on a hen do for the Abba Night. Entertainment was good and DJ played songs to suit everyone. Bride to be had a fantastic night! We had a three course meal which was lovely… especially the mushroom sauce with the chicken! Breakfast was great… hot buffet area. The scrambled eggs were not very tasty but the bacon and sausages were great. Loved the yogurt, fruit pots! Staff were all excellent!

Great room, paid extra for a club room. Very spacious and comfortable. Only downside the room was above the bar that played music so thudding noise until 1am. It was so loud we couldn't sleep.

Stayed in a Club Room. Was comfortable and clean, huge shower, Bosch coffee machine and a MONSTER Samsung TV with full sky sports and movies package. Only reason for 4 stars is lack of bedside sockets, breakfast was average and inadequate room lighting (TV provided the majority of the light to the room). Very close to Attenborough which is a lovely nature reserve and retail park which had everything. Worth the money.

This was a quick overnight stay so didn't sample all the facilities but the room was large, clean and comfortable. The pool seemed larger than some of the other village hotels we've been to but that could just be due to it not being split into lanes for swimming. The food was good in the bar and the staff on duty (bar and reception) were very professional, demonstrating 4 star service. Good location, close to Nottingham and Derby. Would stay again if in this area.

Very nice hotel with great facilities. The rooms were impeccably kept with a very modern decor. The duvets are too thick for summer though, and there's no air conditioning, so it's easy to get uncomfortably warm under the covers. Also, the blinds aren't black-out, and if you're like me and wake at the slightest light leaking in, it makes for a poor night's sleep.

Spent four hrs at a works meeting. We were in the Energy room. Acoustic of the room wasn't great but it was light modern and air conditioned. Large TV for projection purposes which was good. Free tea and coffee and soft drinks. Lunch was sandwiches and fresh fruit apparently we were promised chips but they did not arrive. Toilets were spotlessly clean.

Visited to attend blood donors. Wife and child was also with me. Hotel Staff were happy to give my wife somewhere to feed the little one while she waited. Very happy with the staffs eagerness to help.

Village The Hotel Club was a very friendly atmosphere. The reception was stunning and I attended a business meeting there and the facilities were more than adequate. A great place to stay!

Room good, staff good, spa good. Distance to room from reception is silly. Up one flight of stairs, corridors, up a flight of stairs, down flight of stairs, corridor s — about a 7 min walk. Gluten free options in restaurants sadly lacking.

Location is easy to get to the rooms are good with a good size bath and service friendly however unless you have an upper deck room TV options are limited to 5 channels no ditigal channels and only sky sports channels which is great if u like sports.

Not a great place to eat at. There is a pub that I've been to a couple of times — the waiting times have been terrible and the food and drinks are sub-standard. The other (main) restaurant is often very busy with large groups and also has poor food (poor value). I will avoid going here again.

Lovely place enjoyed my stay going again next month.

Awful, got room 509, directions were go to lift, press 1, turn left walk along corridor through double doors, turn left again and go upstairs, carry on through double doors and its there,, apparently this was an easy option as recommended by reception! Also the beds were terrible, did not sleep at all, booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids aged 16 (female) and 14 (male) they were not impressed at having to sleep together on a flimsy pull out settee. All our backs were aching after the short weekend break,. This might be why they promote UPPERDECK! best beds etc. They need to invest in people having a pleasant nights sleep. On a better note brekkie was as expected although very busy and never waited long at all. The only fault was the beds.

Nice hotel, good breakfast and large swimming pool and gym. Definitely on the list for a next time visit.

I came to this hotel for a spa day last weekend with fellow members from my university yoga society. We paid all inclusive for the day. I thought the gym was very good and I attended a fitness class that left me with my muscles burning. The pool was lovely and I was pleasantly surprised by it being heated. I also had a spa treatment (Swedish back massage) that was wonderful and left my back feeling lovely, I thought the resting room for post-treatment relaxation was a lovely touch. My only complaint for my time spent at the spa day was the treatment of myself and my colleagues by the head staff at the grill. We'd paid a set price for the day which included a carvery and yet when we turned up at the restaurant we were all treated as though we didn't belong. One of my colleagues mentioned that she almost wasn't let into the restaurant. To make matters worse, every student in our group was told we couldn't eat in the restaurant and had to take our food into the pub next door, where they were screening Sunday's football game. So instead of having a nice meal in a well decorated restaurant, we were forced to sit with our food surrounded by people drinking and getting into their game. The staff's supposed reason for our being moved was that they didn't have enough space for us, however on three occasions we went in to get food and every time they weren't more that half full.

Great stay and spa was lovely. Would definitely go again xx.

I used this hotel for a large event and the the staff were fantastic, when it comes to the food the starter was great, the main wasn't so great and the dessert which was Baileys Cheese Cake was lovely. I stayed over for 2 nights and the rooms were brill very nice and clean and the breakfast was amazing all of my friends and family who also stayed over shared the same opinion and thought the hotel and breakfast were very good value for money.

Stayed here on business 3 or 4 times a year for 3 years. Never any grounds to complain. It's not the ritz but then it's only £85 per night.
