We had a fantastic Sunday lunch take away today. Plenty of meat and vegetables. The beef was really tender. Will definitely use again.

We had a lovely Mother’s Day roast dinner takeaway today. I had roast beef, my husband had a mixed roast and our little boy had a child’s sausage and mash. All portions were plentiful and delicious we will definitely be supporting the pub through takeaways, for as long as we can!

I had made use of the take out service currently on offer for the last two days now — burger and fries last night and a full roast dinner this afternoon. Both were (as always) first rate and I believe that a delivery service will soon be available for those in self isolation — what more can you ask for!

Excellent fresh home made food. Really impressed as we eat out regularly and find it hard to find decent food and atmosphere to match but we found it. Thank you.

The food is incredible! INCREDIBLE! really friendly staff and it's a good lookin' clean pub. Played a few gigs here (The Black Cats) and the staff are some of the best people we've worked with. Travelled down from Manchester today to visit old friends. Lovely pub, nice warm welcome from staff and had a live band playing. Would highly recommend a visit. 5

Friendly staff, lovely decor in keeping with a country village. Lovely garden area.

Went tonight for dinner. Very quick service and the waitress was very friendly. Food came quickly and was nicely presented and tasted lovely. Nice relaxed atmosphere.

Went for a pub lunch on the way home. They made us a ploughmans lunch even tho it was not on the menu. Which was lovely. Sat in the lovely garden. Bar staff very friendly. Highly recommended.

The staff here could not do more for us on our short stay, we were very impressed with their care. The gin menu and quality of the cask ale was impressive The food was amazing, only sorry we don’t live closer.

Hotel Room. We checked in today to find a dead cockroach in the shower. We were booked to attend the Crick Boat show for two days so we thought we'd have to grin and bare it. The room was not so clean. Poorly decorated. Wall paper falling off the wall by the radiator. That was room three. The pub decor had no reflection on how bad the rooms were. At £70 per night it was severely over priced. It looked more like a DSS room. Needless to say we checked out 2 hours later and got a full refund.

A great place to eat as a couple. Good food and friendly staff. Not too pricey either.

Nice quiet little pub, lovely looking garden with new play equipment for the kids. A few real ales on tap. Give it a try! You wont regret it!

This is a lovely pub with friendly staff and an excellent menu with lots of choices. The food is always well presented and very tasty. Well worth a visit.

We have enjoyed many an good meal at the red lion since the new ownership and have brought many friends and family here all of which have thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Today we had the one of the specials … The hake, lentil dale dish which was definitely one of the best dishes I have had here if not the best I have had in many an acclaimed restaurant.

Lovely decor and feel however need a reservation wanted just a quick dinner … sorry fully booked some tables only reserved later or empty!

Absolutely amazing, all beverages was to a very high standard. Food was met at a exceptionally high standard. (higher than anything available around this postcode for 5 a mile radius) I highly recommend this place. We was at Coombe Abbey last week, and I only wish we was here instead! Camilla was an absolute legend, she worked her little socks off and equally made time to introduce herself and held a very friendly conversation. If I could give a higher ⭐️ Recommendation I most certainly would! Thankyou bar staff, Camilla and to the 1st class chef ‍. # cannot wait to return.

The Red Lion in Kilsby has become my local, it has always been in walking distance (about 100 yards) but was never previously worth the walk. Since it has been taken over and given some love and attention it has transformed. The team who run it are pleasant and professional. The beer is well kept and the food is of a very high standard. If you want to go out for your tea, or for a special occasion the Red Lion has the versatility to provide for you. It feels good to have a good local.

Had a lovely evening great food chilled atmosphere and great malbec to go with an awesome cheeseboard.

Nice, querky, village pub! Pleasant atmosphere. Nice staff and the grub was cooked to perfection. Lovely hidden gem to socialise and dine in.

Stayed for 2 days. Very warm freindly atmosphere. Staff and management lovely people. The food was exquisite. Rooms where clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

Visited the Red Lion last night with a friend who had visited at the weekend. She was so impressed we changed our previous arrangements to go back. I was not disappointed. We had the soup to start, a large steaming bowl of broccoli and stilton with brown bread. For main we had the steak mince burger with lovely chips. Excellent meal, attentive staff will definitely be back. Wishing the new owners lots of luck.

The Red Lion is under new management and you can tell. The decor has become more light, even though it is still in transition. Regadless of that the owners have kept what made the Lion a great pub. Dogs very welcome, as are children and the atmosphere and cheer you always were met with are still there. The food, on a limited menu as they get settled in was really really good. I had the ham egg and chips, this is my thermometer to any pub. If I like your ham egg and chips then I know we have a winner. It was top dollar. And at £8 well worth it. Kids had the burgers and they were 'heavy' real meat and lovely (yes I did finished the kids off! ) Mrs L had the fish and commented the best fish she had in a very good while. First impressions are important and for me they have made a very favourable one. The future is bright.
