Lovely food. Reasonably priced, great service, friendly staff. Lovely pub.

Quite good service food quite good fresh hot food not too sure about a dog running around the place with people coming in and your sitting eating your food and you got a dog under your table and other dogs coming in not sure about the hygiene as a place.

Always amazing food staff service shear excellence table for 4 lunch was busy and wedding venue but still no compromise in service or quality perfect.

Food always delicious, service great and the pub has a wonderful feel to it! Highly recommend.

The Exeter Arms is a traditionaly warm and friendly pub with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. I stayed in a very comfortable and well appointed double room and enjoyed a good night's sleep. The pod type tea and coffee making facilities in the room were excellent and a most welcome change from the usual cheap tea bags and instant coffee sachets found in most accommodation. The main kitchen was closed on the night of my stay however a BBQ or fresh pizzas from the courtyard oven and grill was offered instead which was tasty and great value washed down with 1 or 3 very good real ales. The picture of the breakfast speaks for itself, very good. My only thought would be placemats to stop the plates from spinning! I WILL return.

Let me start by saying I hope you don’t think this is a hate review from someone that feels bitter with his or her experience. This is my honest review I wish to pass on to any other potential guest’s that are thinking of staying at the Exeter Arms Easton on the Hill. Three of us were in the area attending an event for the weekend and we looked at the website for the Exeter arms and we were very impressed by the photo’s and feedback. We checked in on the Friday night dropped our bags in the room and headed for a meal downstairs, the meal was quite pleasant however I felt it was very greasy with way to much oil and deep fat fried products and not a salad leaf in site. We had a long day ahead so retired to our rooms early to get a good nights sleep. This is where things started to go down hill very quickly, the second I sat on the bed the mattress folded in half as the springs were clearly shot to pieces. The room was very hot but I couldn’t open the window due to the excessive traffic noise and trucks rumbling through what looked like a quiet village. This only seemed to stop at 4am when I managed to get to sleep. The night before we asked for our breakfast to be served at 7:45 as we had to be at our event 9am sharp but I had to shower and change whilst waiting for it as I think the chef was late in. Breakfast was finally put on the table at 08:30. The room was dirty and in bad need of renovation, the showerhead was broken and the fan in my wardrobe didn’t work.

Quite a find on our way to Burghley House Beatiful dining areas including a private space for more intimate family/friends gatherings Ample parking. We visited on a Sunday so opted for the Sunday Roast which was excellent, plenty of meat and well cooked vegetables, tasty gravy combined with friendly service, definitely call again when in the area.

A very nice overnight break. Rooms comfortable. Ate dinner in restaurant. Was okay. Breakfast was very good with very attentive staff. Would recommend.

Me and my fiance stayed for the night and we loved it. Staff was very friendly and welcomy. Foods delicious. Worth every penny. Thank you. We definitely will be back.

Not many country pubs keep me coming back. The Exeter has consistent good food and a lovely place to spend time with friends or family. Relaxed, comfortable. Lovely.

Superb Sunday lunch roasts with lovely, friendly staff and attentive service, well worth making a diversion for!

Visited for lunch. Food was amazing however restaurant staff took a while to acknowledge us standing at the bar and continued their conversation, before finally showing us to our table. Took ages to come to ask us for drinks and take meal order but as soon as food arrived they were very quick to check on us and clear us away. Didn't seem interested until we were eating and leaving, which is a disappointment as I've been here before and it's been lovely.

Slow service from inexperienced and young staff, and when stood at the bar all one can hear is a surly chef shouting abuse. Food passable but a tad dry. Would not revisit and neither would recommend to others.

My Husband and I stayed at the Exeter Arms about a month ago in one of there (Deluxe double) rooms at £90 a night to include full English breakfast, if this was a Deluxe room then the owners should visit Travel Lodge to see how they do it and for a lot less. The evening meal was fine and all the evening staff were polite no problem there, but in the morning going down to breakfast was told the chef would be late, but we could have tea, coffee and toast (there was also fruit juice and cereal) at hand, but come on after waiting 1 hour and the chef still not turning up this is just not good enough. The waitress acted like this happened regularly. Would we stay here again NO you must be joking.

Had heard great things and visited on Father's day. They could just manage to get us in at 3:30 although there appeared to be plenty of room. You might allow them an excuse that it was a late lunch, but, very disappointed that the staff allowed such a tasteless, tired bag of reheated left-overs to be served. I had hoped they had higher standards, this was lazy and slipshod. I won't be troubling them again.

2 Stars are for the lovely surroundings, but I'm afraid the service and attitude of the staff (manager to be specific) made it an uncomfortable visit. Was meant to be a gathering of friends, one of which had a small child, and it was made very clear that we were to keep her under tight control, tidy up after ourselves and she wasn't to touch anything as apparently there are chef's wondering around with knives! Nothing on the menu to cater for vegetarians other than the soup and when I asked for the bill for the second time I was duly put in my place. Won't be visiting again which is a shame.

Most unfriendly pub ever visited full of pretentious people if you don't have a gentry stay away. Snob is an understatement.

Since the pub has been done up, the place, the atmosphere, the food. Wow the food is brilliant. Was reccommeded to come up by some friends. It was worth the 60 mile round trip.

Quality beer, wines and food in a relaxed atmosphere.
