Shocking service… no matter what time of the year it is. Always a long wait for food. Never enough bar staff, but plenty of students collecting glasses. Staff rarely smile and don’t look like they enjoy working there. The beer garden is a fantastic location, but the wood work and furniture is not maintained. They don’t even have decent TV with sound for the football or rugby. As a resident of Wroxham I am disgusted at how they can command top price for drinks and not produce food in reasonable time. As the only pub in the village, it should be a huge focal point. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Nice setting etc. Bit of a shame that the service from the front of house and kitchen was surprising very bad. Took our order 3 times before we found out what they could serve against what was on the menu. Then ended up serving the meals staggered over 1 hr, then forgot to serve the last 2 meals, out of 6 meals. Staff were blaming each other. Spoiled a good reunion, but hey, got a story to tell the next time we catch up. Remember the service we never got at the the kings head…

Great Pub, excellent food, good selection of beers and wonderful beer garden on the river. Edit. This was one of my favourite pubs but after having to wait on a monday night for over an hour for food with probably less than 30 customers they obviously have problems or the chef was watching the football. To the management — this is just not acceptable. The waiting time on saturday with a full garden was borderline — this though is just crazy. The 3 stars are for the location and garden.

Wanted to stay in the pub for the evening which was going to cost £8 in the car park, of which they'll only give you £3 back when you spend at the bar. Meal was okay, but warm sandwiches because they used a pre heated plate? Didn't like the ants running over the table, but it was isolated to just us through poor cleaning on the adjascent window sill. Nice to sit next to the river though, and beware pricey drinks, pint and a glass of wine is over a tenner! Dog friendly for those who'd like to bring their four pawed friend with them.

I have only given them a four star rating as the mushy peas were dried up. I had scampi and chips with tarter sauce and that was excellent. You sit either sit inside or out in the garden next to the river.

The perfect place for touring from. The building is tired and needs a lot of maintenance but welcoming, friendly and location is great. Adequate room although bit more shelving in the bathroom would be useful. The food is good, best scampi ever! Outside tables need cleaning more often, shouldn't have to ask for the table to be cleaned while waiting for food to arrive. Very comfy bed. Would return if in the area.

Waited over 30 minutes for a couple of sandwiches to be brought out to us. Then they forgot the chips so then had to wait another 10 minutes for them. The food was pretty rubbish too. I had a steak sandwich but they must've been running out as there was hardly any in it or it was scraps from someone else's leftovers. If any consolation, the chips were nice! We sat in the garden which could've been quite nice as its on the waters edge but there was a group of lads on their boat, drinking, smoking & blaring out music. All in all I wouldn't recommend it. McDonald's would've been cheaper & nicer.

This pub is situated in an ideal position with a huge beer garden overlooking the broads. The food was good value and the drinks weren't over priced. The staff were friendly and they all worked extremely hard. Over the first May bank holiday weekend the pub was heaving and despite several staff being of sick — they soldiered on. Definitely would recommend!

Stayed there for just 1 night. The room was clean and tidy. Check-in could have been better but there was a new staff member who hadn't yet been fully trained. Upstairs getting to the room was a bit of a maze but that's part of the charm of the old building.

We came here for a drink and some food, the bar had a really bright welcoming atmosphere. There was a carvery which had a really good choice of food. Several different joints and a lot of different accompaniments. I'd definitely come back here.

Lovely place to stay in Hoveton/Wroxham. All staff were very friendly, welcoming and polite; very helpful and attentive. Room nice, clean and comfortable. Nice atmosphere, very warm and comfortable. Will return when warmer, though! :)

Lovely service from all staff. They always tried their best to help out and give the best service possible. Food was excellent.

Would not even give 1 star if I could. Went in for carvery at 1.00 today to find after we'd ordered that they had run out of 3 of 4 meats. Who runs out of meat on a Sunday lunch service? Had to ask for order to be refunded with no apology offered and left hungry.

Friendly staff. Always busy and lively. Excellent riverside seating and views. Be aware that there is now chargeable time limited parking here which also requires your car's registration number. The charge is refunded for customers spending over £3 at time of writing.

Family-friendly atmosphere. Staff very helpful. Lovely meal for great price.

Always a bit hit and miss here, you never know what it'll be like from week to week. Last week was lovely, best to book but we were lucky and got a table anyway. Carvery was really really lovely. Bit of a wait on desserts but they were equally as lovely. Good value for money I'd say. Wroxham is a lovely place in general.

Had a lovely weekend good food friendly staff. Bedroom was on the small side but ok for a weekend! a week would have been hard work due to there being no drawers in the room. But that wasn't a problem for us.

The king's Head public house was very busy with people eating and drinking, I only waited about 3-4 minutes to be served and I ordered mine and my husband's meal, we went back and stood our drinks on the table then went to the carvery and was given the meat of my choice out of Beef, Turkey or Gammon they all looked very mouthwatering we then helped ourselves to the vegetables, the Staff were very friendly and helpful and I would recommend The King's Head to anybody.

Stopped for a drink before picking up our boat. Good drinks, friendly staff and ample space. There is a great beer garden overlooking the river too. Perfect for relaxing in the sun with friends.

Very poor service at the bar today, hardly any regular ales available, over charged me for large drinks that I did not ask for, the beer we did get was warm, poor quality food, had to hunt for sauces, salt, napkins and cutlery… the only saving grace was the food we did get was fresh… but very poor quality products being used… could have made better meals at home in my sleep… and I wish I had… such a shame because I used to love this pub, but now I will not be returning.

Great little place to stay, right by everything, room was big and onsuite was clean, staff where friendly, and food was plentifully, my better half said the women's toilets where of a disgusting state when she went to spend a penny, there was pee on the floor and all over the toilet seat, and all cubical s where the same, so she used the toilet in our room, I said let the staff know, but she was a bit embarrest to do so, oh well, byring that we had a great stay. Recommend the place.

Had a day out in Wroxham, the king's head is close to a boat hire vendor which is convenient. The views are exceptional and the service is good, drink prices are average for the area. They host events weekly and it can get very busy, but a nice atmosphere with huge gardens overlooking the river. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Great venue, with lots of seating inside and out. Food lovely and good range of choice. Excellent place to take children. However, they do allow dogs inside. They are in an allocated area, but this is in the entrance so isn't great if you have children that don't like dogs. Also could do with a touch up in many places its starting to look measy in the walls, grubby menus, damp napkins etc.

Dropped a star because of time taken to for food to come. Kids desert got missed off so had to wait even longer. Staff are friendly but more time spent cleaning rather than serving customers waiting, busy at times with people waiting. Last point… dont prop open a fire door that clearly says keep closed! Need to be safeguarding your customers.

Very clean and modern. Good selection of beer and food. Nice surroundings and the Staff are friendly enough. It's biggest problem however, it's too expensive for what it is. Nothing wrong with this place, but a lot of other pubs offer exactly the same but without the premium price tag.

Good good and range of drinks. Nice atmosphere. Only let down was slow service.

I love this pub, the garden the atmosphere, the menu all great! Only drawback is that you can see they need more staff! On the hottest day of the year so far they were struggling with food and drink orders with glasses piling up! All staff members were really friendly but there just wasn't enough of them!

Lovely location, friendly staff good selection of ales. Food could be a bit better, though not bad for pub food. Newly refurbished and dog friendly.

We visited here the previous year whilst in Norfolk and returned again as we'd had a lovely meal previously. The food was nice again. A couple of the beers were off and the bar staff were chatting to the locals and preparing their drinks as they took our order, hence the 4 stars. The hotel is located on the riverbank, so it's a great place to spend a relaxing summer day watching the boats go by and having a drink.

The food was great. They messed up an order for the vegetarian carvery but they sorted it out straight away and refunded the money. Very nice atmosphere and great food & drinks.

We visited The Kings Head for drinks only (did not stay or eat there). Excellent range of real ales that are obviously kept well. Hotel is well maintained and looks rather chic inside. Lots of seating outside on newly installed tables next to the river. The hotel manager was also very pleasant and pleased to be of assistance. A nice place around.

Wroxham was a lovely place to visit, but won't be going to the Kings Head again, no one at the bar to serve you had to wait several minutes think I passed the manager outside chatting with someone. The tea and coffee was awful.

Went in for food and a few beers, food was good and relatively quick. Bar is nice and also a good size.

Weekend staff could a do with being a bit more attentive especially the manager who even though there was a queue disappeared our back again.

Waiting for over an hour is complete rubbish for a lunch meal for two. Garbage, shockingly bad.

Visited this pub for their carvery. It is annoying that the price they advertise on big posters and banners is not the price you pay on a Sunday (and when else would you want a roast? ) The real price is nearer £12 rather than the £5.95 displayed when you walk or boat past, and that includes the "go big" token you can purchase for a premium at the tills. "Go Big" basically gets you an extra slice of meat, and extra sausage, a bit of extra stuffing, and an extra yorkshire pudding. It doesn't allow you any extra choice on roast potatoes or veg, or any option to swap what they have there for something you might actually want to eat. Go Big is essential for anyone who wants food, rather than carrots. The price is not as brutal as some broads meals, but it is just as deceiving. However, the food is good and worth what you pay, if they would be honest about the price, instead of having banners that show half the price, it would be better.
