As a Wedding Videographer I work in many venues and the Norfolk Mead has always been a favourite of mine not just for its location and grounds but in the way the staff treat me a as a supplier. Thank you so much and I look forward to capturing more weddings at the Norfolk Mead.

What an amazing place with fabulous staff, decor and food. Nothing was too much — came here on recommendation for afternoon tea and from start to finish the staff were so accommodating. They went above and beyond, the setting is beautiful and to top it off the afternoon tea was delicious.

Me and my husband got married on Friday 22nd July at The Norfolk Mead and we had our whole day there. From when we first visited the venue we fell in love. Beautiful grounds and venue we couldn’t love a place more if we tried. From start to finish the day was PERFECT. Frankie and Francesca were amazing. They really did cater for all needs. They made sure they kept in contact with you throughout the day and nothing was to much trouble. The food was absolutely amazing and we had so many compliments on how lovely it all was there was not one complaint which very rarely happens! Over all we had the most memorable day and we are both still on cloud 9. We would like to thank everyone who was involved within our day as without them we would of not had the day we planned. I couldn’t recommend The Norfolk Mead enough and for anyone looking to get married here I would 100% guarantee you will not be disappointed.

The whole wedding day was faultless from start to finish, the organisation was thorough and precise having attention to detail. The staff were polite and accommodating. One word Amazing.

Beautiful afternoon tea with gluten free and vegetarian options. This was followed by a wonderful massage and manicure. The staff are wonderful. So polite, at tentative and kind. Absolutely loved it.

The food is excellent and waiting staff absolutely amazing totally an all round top experience, even though we were the youngest in there by far and not the most smartly dressed it didn't stop us enjoying the Evening.

Lovely one night stay. Afternoon tea was plentiful without being too much. We eventually ate most of it thro the evening. Nice wine. Young friendly staff.
Breakfast was good. Lots of choice. I personally didn’t like their tea. A bit weak but could be my taste.
The room was large for two sisters in twin beds. Great wallpaper too! Very modern but Classically so. We were warm and comfy in the beds. Nice tea tray and brownies provided.
Bathroom nice fittings. A tad small. We overlooked the back of the kitchen? But also could see the garden.
The approach to the hotel is very attractive, in a natural environment, very secluded. But still in a village setting close by. Beautiful entrance to reception, including a large staircase and sofa area complete with twinkling Xmas tree. Gorgeous Georgian building. Thankyou.

Definitely would recommend ordering the afternoon tea. I bought afternoon teas for my sister in laws birthday as couldn’t see her due to lockdown. I bought it for 2 people but there was plenty of food for her my brother and their 2 children. They said it was delicious.

Just celebrated our wedding anniversary and had the best meal I think I've had for a long time if ever! amazing flavours and attention to detail. Staff are consistently welcoming, professional, friendly … such a lovely well run beautiful place XX.

We ordered 5 afternoon teas today, 2 gluten free, and can honestly say they were outstanding. With 2 coeliacs we were slightly apprehensive about gluten, and the possibility of cross contamination, but everything was absolutely perfect. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

I visited here with my daughter for a belated birthday treat of Spa treatment and afternoon tea. As always we were not disappointed, the treatment was fabulous with Charlie, afternoon tea superb and Josh on reception was so friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome with his humorous disposition, a real asset to any business. All the staff were so friendly and we hope to return soon.

We got married here on Saturday 7th September and we had the best time ever! The food was amazing, venue looked stunning and Victoria, Francesca and there team were amazing looking after all of us. The rooms were gorgeous and breakfast finished the weekend off a treat! We couldn't of wished for a better venue for our special day and look forward to returning!

We stayed in 'Sweet Chestnut, which was really nice & perfect for the three of us, the staff are all lovely & very helpful, we didn't stay for dinner as we had other plans in the area but can highly recommend the breakfast.

My husband and have just had a birthday lunch at the Norfolk Mead Hotel with my daughter, son-in-law and 4 year old grandson. The waitresses, Molly and particularly Alex, could not have been more helpful and attentive, especially to my grandson, Owen! The food was delicious and the service top notch and excellent value for money. We would all definitely go again!

My friend and I were treated to a very nice afternoon tea as well as a facial. We arrived a little early so had a drink in the bar. Lovely surroundings. Afternoon tea was served and when we had finished we were pampered with a very relaxing facial. Perfect afternoon would definitely recommend.

Myself and Alex had an absolutely amazing experience on Friday at our wedding with you guys. From the very beginning when we first booked with you 18 months ago, to the night before and the day of, everyone was absolutely spectacular! Special mention to Fran and Victoria for helping us organise everything, and another special shout out to Alex — she was completely amazing and so attentive to us! Literally could not be happier, nothing was too much trouble for anyone and our guests all said the same thing, it was the tiny details including slight adjustments to the food to allow all our guests to thoroughly enjoy their experience. It was a wonderful hotel on the Norfolk River grounds were well kept rooms were very big and massive shower was very big staff were friendly and warm they made you feel welcome all the time you were there.

Fabulous Venue for a wedding, but also a lovely place for a quiet break away from it all. Food and service superb with lovely staff for whom nothing is too much trouble.

The hotel has lovely surroundings and the Samphire suite was lovely especially with the bath in the room. We both had massages which were amazing and very relaxing. The dinner that followed was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend coming here for a short stay away to unwind.

What we liked: 1/ The amazing location 2/ The stunning hotel & our beechnut house 3/ The food (dinner, food via room order, breakfast) 4/ Friendly manager on arrival & really excellent evening staff What we disliked: 1/ The unfriendliness of breakfast staff (compared to evening staff that was so super caring and nothing seemed to be a problem when asked for something) First day there was a corporate function at breakfast time so thought staff was stressed because of that. When we arrived we sat at table of four not thinking "you are pre-preparing tables" (we were not showed a specific table on arrival) So we were addressed things this way (once we were relatively well installed at table of 4) "could you move to the table of three we prepared for you as we expect a family of four here? " Rather weird to express it that way, made us feel we did something wrong and a disaster happened. Second day same unfriendly attitude. 2/We have been told "they are not used to kids" hence they don't offer a typical "kids" option for dinner/lunch. In the end we have been charged £12 for a few chicken nuggets, a few new potatoes and peas. It is not so much about the price but the overall attitude about kids. Then don't take bookings of people with kids? …

The staff were very helpful and professional. The facilities were excellent and the grounds well kept. Breakfast was good, using locally sourced foods as well as traditional cereals. Overall I rate it as 4/5 as the pillows were to firm and the food although really good, wasn't outstanding or amazing. I'm a harsh critic, so anyone looking for a little luxury in Norfolk I'd highly recommend the Norfolk Mead Hotel.

This was the venue to chosen to celebrate our Great Granny's 100 the birthday. 18 members of the family were seated at two large tables in the comfortable dining room. The waiting staff were friendly, very professional and buzzed around delicately ensuring everyone was catered for. Our visit was on a Sunday and the menu full of tasty sounding dishes. Everyone of our party thoroughly enjoyed their food. I had the Gorgonzola fritters to start and the rissotto to follow, both were absolutely delicious. We had arranged to use the lounge after lunch for coffee, birthday cake and so Granny could open her cards and birthday gifts. The ambience and comfort were just right for the occasion. A very lovely afternoon was spent at the Norfolk Mead Hotel and Great Granny's 100 th birthday was even more of a success due to the good food, wonderful venue and the feeling of value for money.

Attended a wedding in the garden bar area. Was brilliant! Great food and service, lovely place. Slightly pricey for drinks though! I didn't stay in a room so can't comment.

My husband and I got married here on Friday and we can't thank the Norfolk Mead enough for giving us such a beautiful day. The staff here are incredible, this goes to the reception staff, housekeeping, the waiters/waitresses, bar staff and the wedding planners they literally can't do enough for you. You will also never have a bad meal here the food is amazing and are friends and family were extremely impressed. In terms of our day we couldn't thank Victoria and Francesca enough (the wedding organisers) for making are day run so smoothly. If you needed anything they were there, nothing was to much trouble and they were just lovely girls to have make our day go perfectly. James and Anna who have the Norfolk Mead should be very proud of their staff and we can't thank you enough for making our wedding day Perfect.

My daughter had her wedding reception here on Sunday 6th August. Fantastic day. Food and service superb. One problem though. The most terrible smell throughout the day and evening. Don't know if it was drains but was shocking. I don't know if this is an ongoing problem but most guests mentioned it. Shame as it was the only downside of the day.

Brilliant welcome from staff. Such a gorgeous setting: the village, river, house and grounds… Superb. The meal was worth every penny. And though expensive, not excessively priced. Creative food with genius use of aroma, texture, colour and taste. Though carrots slightly over cooked. Well worth the visit. Keen to book an overnight stay next.

Stayed for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Unfortunately couldn't get the room we had for our wedding night as they were booked up. This didn't matter though. From walking in to the Norfolk mead the staff were very welcoming, the service-exceptional, everybody congratulated us on our anniversary. We had a superb meal. Best lamb dinner I've ever had, my wife had the cod and didn't say much other than 'wow' so clearly enjoyed it!
When we got back to our room that evening we were greeted with a lovely surprise gift from the staff (chocolates and champagne). Topped with a perfect breakfast the next morning. We've already rebooked for next year. Thanks Norfolk Mead you were fantastic!

Went to restaurant and food and service was great. Only let down is the price. For the area it is expensive but still worth a visit.

It is the best hotel in Norfolk. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff are attentive but respectful. Rooms are gorgeous and they have the greatest shower in the world. But the food is their shining glory — beautifully presented and sublime flavour combinations. A match made in heaven.

Went for a wedding reception and I have to say the place was amazing! The food was incredible and the service was brilliant. Would love to come back again soon.

Just loved our stay. Was such a treat. Took the wife for our anniversary. Managed to get a last minute slot for a deep tissue massage which was amazing. Highly recommend but would advise to book early as the spa is very popular. The gardens look so nice and we really enjoy glass of wine in the evening before dinner. We ate in the restaurant and the food was sensational. — arguably the best in the county. Certainly matches some the top London restaurants. All round, it was excellent and we will recommend the Norfolk mead to everyone we know.

Really nice venue where a lovely wedding was enjoyed. They were overly worried about noise levels when a few of us came round the front of the hotel in an attempt to gain mobile phone signal to call a taxi.

Beautiful setting with fantastic garden room and grounds. The venue is tasteful decorated complete with open fires and comfy chairs, perfect for relaxing with a drink and the papers. The food is first rate too, full of flavour and very well presented. On our visits I found the staff to be exemplary. They were smartly turned out, polite and very attentive with being annoying. Recommended for a great get away weekend break or just for a visit to soak up the atmosphere and sample the delicious food.

A truly lovely hotel. The staff are incredibly welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable to sleep in. The food is, quite possibly, the best I've ever eaten. We've stayed here twice and both times have been fantastic.

Hotel first class, but not to my taste, unfortunately. I am not a great lover of very upmarket meals such as Pidgeon. If you are it is definitely the hotel for you. Problem in finding the hotel. I think it would be helpful if the directions included the fact that the hotel entrance is virtually opposite Rectory Road and immediately to the right of the church. Staff first class. Helpful and welcoming.

Visited the hotel for a meal and it was really first class. Enjoyed the creative food as well as the attitude and welcome from the staff. You will not be disappointed, take guests here to impress.

I'd love to write a review of the hotel but my husband tried to book it for our 10th wedding anniversary. When he rang to book he was told that they were too busy to take a booking and they would call him back. That was 3 days ago and we are still waiting. Needless to say we have booked somewhere else.

Wonderful venue, and impeccable service. Worth going out of your way to find this lovely hotel, even if it's just for dinner.

My husband and I stayed at the Norfolk Mead Hotel on Thursday and we have nothing but praise. We had a de-lux room which was nicely fitted and very comfortable, and a smart modern bathroom with a good walk in shower. The dinner was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked, as was the breakfast. The staff were friendly and attentive and everything was of a very high standard. We think the Norfolk Mead was the best country hotel we have stayed at, and would consider returning in the summer.

Despite only living 5 or so miles from the hotel for some reason we had never visited before and now wish we had as we were very pleasantly surprised by all aspects from the welcome to the comfort of the bar, attentive but unintrusive service, qualty of the food and the knowlegeable opinions on wine selection rounded off with coffe in the log fire wamth of the delightfully relaxing lounge area. A real "find" that we will definitely visit again, maybe next time to stay.
