We have booked in January for August. When we arrived in August, our two rooms did not exist. We were booked on May. Have then got two double rooms with each one extra folding bed.
The scrambled eggs came out of the bag and tasted nothing. The dishes and cutlery were dirty. The table and the floor were glued.

Fantastic hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms spacious, bright with very comfortable beds. Bar, restaurant, pool and gym facilities great too. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel and amazing theme nights, food lovely and staff helpful. Only snag was on line price list for drinks are different to what you pay on the night, wasn't happy with that. Overall great place.

The room is really run down, no AC, noisy bathroom fan, shower guard didn't stop water getting on the floor and the bed was constantly moving. Coffee machine in the room is one of the best I've ever tried though, and the faculties are great, free access to gym and pool, great restaurant and pub, the food is superb and staff are great. The room let it down a lot, having stayed in the village hotel Leeds, this one really needs the rooms revamping and a Starbucks ;)

The reception staff in welcoming their guest of hotel is not as expected. I was attending a course today and the reception firstly got an attitude when I asked her for the duration to the hub. Secondly she given me instruction to go through the gym to the hub area rather than using the normal door of the conference area. And I know the normal route is shorter and is being used as after I got down to the hub I've seen other guest coming from that end. Staff need tol be 're train for customer service skill.

Average to poor hotel but with excellent gym facilities. The rooms are small and leak outside noise. The lift does not work from the 1st to ground floor which is poor. The breakfasts are okay but they constantly run out of milk so when you fill your bowl they have to replace the milk container. The service is polite and friendly. The highlight of the hotel is the gym which has excellent facilities which is typical of the Village brand and compensates for the hotel.

As a hotel for an over night stay it's fine, but it's certainly in need of some TLC. The rooms are really looking their age with the bathrooms certainly not at their best. Peeling paintwork and shirts that produce no pressure and can't even stand up on their own but keep returning to pointing at the wall. Window blinds that look like they have suffered a hurricane and overall aging appearance means this can't be seen as anything more than a 3 star in my mind. Public toilets are like something from a spit and sawdust pub in the 70'

Good food and friendly staff. Service is quick, I regularly stop in here for dinner on the way home from meetings or when I'm staying over.

Really easy to find this hotel… Was on a hen party night and they had dancing guys on. Great themed party x.

Nice pub. Bit on the expensive side. Be wary of charges at the bar as prices seem to change a lot depending on the time of day. Nice pub food and they allow children in. They also show the football for anyone who wants to watch it. All in all a nice pub and a nice atmosphere attached to a really nice hotel.

This hotel is not up to the usual De Vere standards. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The pool is OK and the sauna and steam room are what you would expect. Didn't check out the fitness suite but looks good. Didn't check out the overpriced food either. Bearing this in mind the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere and there are no restaurants within walking distance. The room is curtainless, quite basic and very dated. Remember to bring an extension lead as in our room there was only one spare socket (two if you unplug the standard lamp). This is classed as Liverpool but is a half hour drive away. Would I stay here again? Maybe if you paid me!

Great Staff. Gym small but adequate with treadmills & cross trainers & cycling machine & also rowing machines. There is a separate room with plenty of free dumbbell weights. There is a studio room with class activities ranging from yoga classes to high intensity classes such as boxercise. The pool is a good size with Jacuzzi & a steam & sauna room.

Manager is plain rude no customer service skills. Even when people in my group were attempting to praise one of the night lads for his help and empathy after a couple of the girls had fallen victim to a rogue taxi driver. Seemed more irritated that the police had been to take statements. Disgusting attitude.

Room was not that clean. I could hear the TV of my neighbor's like if it was in my room. The good thing about the hotel is the staff at the restaurant who are lovely and the food which is quite nice.

Best nights sleep ever. Restraunt and pub food reasonably priced and good quality. Breakfast nice. We didn't use the pool or gym but pictures looked good.

Visited for 4 course Sunday Carvery which was wonderful. Staff were very friendly. Food was mostly delicious and fresh. Great selection of starters and desserts, including fresh waffle making, lovely ice cream sundaes and rhubarb crumble and custard. We loved the carvery too.

The restaurant food was great for both breakfast and evening meal. The pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room nice … however the rooms could do with being updated for a "club" room it was pretty dated stayed at other village hotels and rooms much more modern … That aside great stay.

Best thing about it is the swimming pool and the gym. The restaurant was quite nice as well with lovely staff. Only two stars because the room was not that clean. Also I could hear my neighbor's TV as if it was in my room.

Great hotel. Good parking. Check time for leisure we went when swimming lessons on noisy and lots of children and parents sat on side of pool. Changing rooms packed. Rooms big. Clean and comfy.

Excellent room. Recommend upgrading the bed is so comfortable. Staff are always helpful. Gym and leisure facilities are great for a relaxing break away.

Attended a Christmas party with a group of 13 others. Firstly we were four places short around the table as they had not allocated seats formthe 4 free places. They then pulled over a separate table so we were split up. This along with the delay for the children's food was a bit disappointing. The show and bar staff however were great.

Very nice place, although a bit on the pricey side. Great selection of drinks at the bar. Limited food options and staff did get order wrong.

Very tired hotel and bar! Definitely needs to be refurbished! It's top prices so it should be far nicer than it is!

Attended a seminar for work. Very helpful staff. Good provided for the buffet was of a good standard.

Attended a conference event there on Wednesday evening. Great conference facilities, easy to park, lovely food and great selection of drinks. Very easy to get to.

The bed was uncomfortable and you could hear everything going on in the corridor and adjoining rooms to noisy. Nice and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also quite expensive in the bar.

Went for lunch at the village pub. Visited the toilets in the hotel. Not Impressed with either. Both are drab add uninviting. Sky sports volume turned up so loud we could not have a conversation. Whole place needs a complete upgrade/ makeover. Fight by customers outside just about summed up the experience.

Awful hotel. Would give it a no star rating if possible. Up on arrival looks nice and it ends there. Room was dirty tea stained side bathroom was dated and had not been cleaned from previous guests, furniture was dated and the bed was like a concrete slab couldn't even stay the night it was that bad. Went to speak to a member of staff and explain that we were disappointed and he said yep we get it all the time you should if read trip advisor. We will defiantly not be returning (shocking)

Go here regularly for business meetings. Staff are friendly and food is very good. Lots of parking and very nice venue.

I found my stay fantastic, the room was big enough for 5 people to sit in, the television had all the channels that the children wanted, the breakfast was sublime no faults, the pool was plenty big enough for people to swim in 5he only fault that I had with the room is that the fold away bed had a slight bend in it so it wasn't straight but other than that it was great.

Stayed here recently. Rooms were clean but very basic. I was put next to the cleaners area so very noisy and busy in the corridor. Bar and restaurant within the hotel was nice enough offering typical bar food.

Thursday night was burger night. The lad behind the bar saved us money by explaining the special offer. He was fantastic as was the food.

Average hotel with average service and facilities. The people are friendly and seem very genuine but there appears to be an ongoing effort to reduce your interaction with them. Self check-in might seem like a good idea but in reality it's cold and makes you feel like you're just putting yourself in a safe.

Very good quality for a meeting room and food was good too.

Good Hotel, very friendly staff, rooms OK bit dated. Food was nice in pub part, unsure about Verve Grill though, food a bit pretentious I felt and portions looked very small.

Great place, good atmosphere. Bar is Sports Bar themed with football coverage etc. Hotel itself has a vast array of facilities and is located very close to M62 just a few miles from Liverpool.

For the price of the rooms I expected much more. Beds are not comfortable, walls paper thin; I could hear every word of the next rooms conversation and snoring. Food was tolerable at best, staff friendly enough but not enough of them. Only a single waitress on the first night leading to extremely slow service as she ran around every table.

The best and decent hotel of the zone. Amazing gym and bar too. Maybe update the bar menu with new dishes.

Been a member at the gym on and off for quite a while now. Friendly staff, great gym facilities, always spotlessly clean. Would recommend highly.

Bar is Great and the food Is great pub grub! Really enjoyed it, atmosphere is relaxed and have live sport on the TV too.

I've been several times for the Sunday roast over the course of this year. Each time has been consistently excellent and great value for your well earned dough.

Really easy place to find, with a great location and motorway links. Check was pleasant with great staff. Rooms are are typical at this rate, but way above your travel lodge. One thing that was great was the restaurant and pub that is part of the hotel. For pub grub it was of high standard and great value. Also the restaurant was very fairly priced and yet great food. Will be definitely staying here again.

Really nice room, with a clean, modern feel and a comfortable bed. The shower could do with being a bit hotter! The location is good, being away from the busier parts of Liverpool but well within an easy commuting distance.

Came here for a meal with a large party. Long wait times, bad food quality and expensive drinks were just a few problems. A glass of coke cost £2, not a pint but a small glass. The food was worse than a frozen microwave meal. Seriously the mash was tasteless, there was about one spoonful of gravy and don't get me started on the veg. Would not recommend to anyone.

Imagine my disappointment when I discovered the Liverpool Village is not in Liverpool, but a ten miles drive away. Then you have to pay a big parking fee. 'Liverpool' Village? My AR5E.

Can't complain about the hotel itself. The staff on reception were extremely courteous and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. However the same cannot be said for the hotel bar. On the two evenings of our stay we had very poor service — the bar staff were quite rude. We felt quite uncomfortable and didnt stay for long. Unfortunately as much as we like the hotel we will not be returning.

Good points, upgaded to better room due to cancellation of tribute act in restaurant, staff helpful, pool very good, close to motorway. Bad points over priced drinks £7-15 glass zindafel rose, stuffed mushroom starter very small portion, pub staff poor (not watching, waiting to long for service.

We will be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Friendly staff, good range of meals. The house wine was nothing to write home about, we will choose differently next time. Thank you.

I have been staying here on and off now since August 2009 due to a work commitment nearby. I cannot understand some of the comments I have seen here as my experience of the staff without exception has been that they are both helpful and polite at all times. The bar area is great (though it can get busy when Liverpool matches are shown), and the restaurant vety good as well. The menu is quite extensive and can be very tempting, steaks in particular! The common areas are always clean and tidy and make a nice spot to decamp to for a coffee or drink in the evening. I have never had a problem with any of the rooms I have stayed in. All have very comfortable beds and are well decked out with all of the facilities you would expect. My only criticism is the speed of the (free) wireless on offer — it is incredibly slow. If you have mobile broadband, you may be forced to use that instead. Otherwise, 5 out of 5.
