Unsafe hotel. Our motorcycle was stolen in his "private guarded parking lot". Parked under floodlights and security cameras, it was stolen by at least three people, two on a small motorcycle and another/ s in a van, under the watchful eye from the security cameras through which they saw how it was being taken quietly walking, even with the alarm sounding. They say they knocked on our door, but we don't know for sure. It was night and we didn't hear anything. The worst of all is that somehow they held us responsible for not having left it in a small container offered upon arrival, a container full of packages that also had a car parked in front. It is impossible to fit a large motorcycle like an R1200 GS into that small space. I advise against this hotel, it is very unsafe, anyone could even enter and take what they want. There is no surveillance, no gates, no barriers, nothing. We regret having chosen it and not having seen before the amount of comments from other motorcyclists who have gone through the same situation.

Staff friendly helpful, rooms clean n cleaners quick to change the towles n bedding. Plus ure a 10min walk from the Royal Albert Dock. Also short walk from the toon itself.

Well where do I start! The worst stay in a hotel in my life! I work as a receptionist in a hotel and our standards are far higher than your staff! So we arrived late after an hour and half train delay! It was 11.30 at night and we was knackered from the long delay and train ride, there was only 1 welcoming staff member! She was absolutely welcoming and talking to us! What we needed after a long night! But with staff that’s the last time I saw someone so welcoming the whole stay, the rest of the staff wasn’t welcoming at all and looked like they didn’t want to be there, being the receptionist it’s the first and the most staff members you see in a hotel! But there was non existent smiles! Anyway off to our room and what can I saw they made the rooms so small to cram as many rooms as possible, NO wardrobe, NO cupboards, NO telephone to ring through to reception if you wanted to ask anything, NO safe! the bathroom was tiny! The shower is fixed to the ceiling which is pointless I couldn’t shower properly with out getting my hair wet! Which isn’t want you want. The beds wasn’t comfortable at all, 1 pillow and 1 cushion which with out using wasn’t enough and using was to much! Was so tired from our journey I did fall straight to sleep, work up a few times, got up to start getting ready to a knock at the door, was house keeping which asked if we wanted our room doing this was at 9.30am which was nice that they asked but 9.30am (we could of been asleep) check out is 11.

Had a lovely stay hotel was clean staff were friendly. We really enjoyed it and will be back.

Hotel very friendly the rooms are spotless the bathroom is small but it dose the job. The staff are very helpful would recommend this hotel I will stay again near the docks and 10 minutes walk to the city centre.

Lovely hotel. Quiet spot by the river. Short walk to city centre. Late bar. Free private car parking (big bonus). Good price also. definitely recommend.

Arrived at hotel to friendly welcome. Room clean and warm, small bathroom but adequate. We were on first floor up one flight of stairs no lift, but wasn't a problem for us.
Great food and sooo reasonable.
Great location for Liverpool docks 5 mins walking and Liverpool one 15 mins walk.

Great place to stay and in a perfect spot. Views of the queen's dock and free parking is a bonus.
A little walk to the city but if you don't fancy the walk Uber is the way or if you feeling adventurous pick up one of the for hire scooters dotted about.
Rooms were comfortable and breakfast extra but well worth it and at a very reasonable cost.
Highly recommend to anyone and with the amazing walks round the docks on its doorstep makes it a perfect base for a city break.

We were ment to stop at the premier inn just up the road but when we got there the wanted extra £20 to park our car 15 minutes Down the road so went here got a room and staff were lovey room was nice with a lovely view I’ll be booking next year again.

Yes, the room we had was a double bed with a bunk bed over the top. We had and good one night stay before our ferry the next morning.
The staff were very friendly too.

We booked the hotel because it was ideally situated for the dock area a reasonable cost, we had very warm friendly welcome at reception, the dining/ lounge area looked fine, we given our keycard and directions, first disappointment NO lift, So we had struggle to the top floor with our cases, the room was very small, and couldn’t believe there were NO cupboards or drawers, just a six inch hook protruding out of the wall and two shelves, the room 212 was so small you were unable to lay our cases open on the floor and walk round them, but we could live with that, But second and biggest disappointment In the corner of the room was cubicle slightly bigger than a telephone box, the shower was a standard size with a large corner section cut off, the shower Rose was fixed overhead so it was impossible to shower without getting your hair wet, the mixer tap was on the side wall instead of the back wall so bashing your arm on constantly, the curtain was 6 inches short constantly sticking to you, so every shower flooded the place, so one towel was wasted mopping up.
The Basin was about 2ft Wide and projected 6” out from the wall so when washing or clean your teeth you continuously bash your four head on the only shelf, The toilet is placed with no leg room so the door has to left open to let your legs hang out. My wife and I have many hotel stays cruises and this is the smallest and most awkward bathroom I have ever seen, it is so obvious the designers have never tried to use it.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming here. We love the location of this hotel, it is ideally placed for exploring the Albert Docks and museums with views right over the water, you can get a great start to any visit. Close to the Peaky Blinders bar and plenty of places to eat. Good room rates and parking included.

Budget hotel that has everything you need; food good and staff helpful. A 20 minute walk from Centre but a walk through the Quays means you see enerything. Only minus; a very small shower room.

Very expensive, very small rooms and most of the staff are miserable and ignorant wouldn't go back as not good value for money. Plus it's nothing fancy just a bog standard premier inn.

Chose this hotel for my Brothers Stag Do. Reasonably priced hotel which was clean and tidy. Showers were a little small for the bigger members of the party but overall enjoyed our stay.
Staff were friendly and helpful especially Rachel who served our dinners on the Saturday night before we went out.

This is an exceptional more than average basic hotel which is great value for money. It is clean, modern, pleasant and on the docks. Not far from Albert Docks and next door to a casino. The staff are friendly and obliging and food in bar area very competitive price and good value. I would come back here again and have already recommended to many of my friends.

Excellent budget hotel. Very clean with staff who were extremely helpful. Rooms and en suites were small but perfectly adequate and good value for money. About 5 — 10 minutes walk to the main attractions in Albert Dock.

This is our second visit to the Dolby Hotel — chose this again for great value, clean rooms, friendly staff, tasty breakfast. Will book a room here again should we come to Liverpool for a third time.

Located in a perfect spot just down from the docks, this budget accommodation is an ideal spot to rest up. The hotel is clean, friendly and right on the water. Rooms are functional though small it is no less ideal for a sleep. Shops and attractions are within walking distance for active people. Great pubs, restaurants etc all within walking distance. The Peaky Blinder bar is two minutes away.

Staff are very helpful and welcoming. Room was very clean and comfortable. Short walk to Albert Docks and City centre which are great. We have booked again in November.

Second time staying at this hotel, staff are really helpful and friendly, they supply fans for the rooms but when I had asked they were all gone. But the man behind the bar gave me the big fan that had been for the staff. I was so delighted, that was a lovely gesture from him. Couldn't fault the hotel there breakfast is beautiful you've got a choice of continental and hot breakfast selection. Only 10/15 min walk to the town, and if you're coming from the Airport you can get the 82A bus drops you right outside the hotel.

Perfectly clean and pleasant. We had a double room (with extra bunk) looking out towards the docks. The hotel was quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. We walked the 20 minutes into the centre of town without a problem. The bathroom really was teeny and was a pre-fabricated unit, very much like a caravan one. My husband struggled to shower in such a small space. Our main criticism would be the lack of air-conditioning which, combined with the fact that we were cautioned not to open the window, meant that the room became stiflingly hot at night. We did try opening our window on one evening only to be inundated by masses of mosquitoes. I gather they have had problems with this, hence the warning. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food.

The only reason I don't give the 5 star is for the small bathroom. For the rest everything perfect. From cleanliness to bar and availability. Very good value for money Wonderful view from both sides, on one side overlooking the River Mersey and offers a splendid view over the Albert Dock from the other towering top of the Liverpool cathedral.

The room was not that great in line with a 2 star, but nice view from the room and from the lobby.

Pity about the bathroom a little small otherwise 5 star deserved it all, but quality price above average.

We had the opportunity to stay at this hotel during our school trip in Liverpool. For the price given, it was an excellent hotel. Our rooms were a bit too small for three people but they were still very comfortable. However, the food was excellent every day and we really enjoyed our stay. The biggest issue was the Wi-Fi connection which was very weak, but we were able to live without it. A big thank you to all the members of the staff who were very kind and patient with us.

I stayed here with my daughter for two nights while sightseeing in Liverpool. It was a reasonable price and just what we needed for our resting place. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean. Plenty of towels were supplied and we had a lovely view of the docks. Mugs were supplied for a cuppa in the morning too.

Good hotel for short stay. It's a smaller version of a ships cabin. Helpful staff good food. Clean an tidy.

Welcoming and friendly, pleasant though basic rooms. Ideal for a break with views of The Albert Dock and the river Mersey. The food was delicious and nutritious with a good choice of options. I will be staying there again in the future.

Staff friendly, drink/food prices quite fair. The downstairs restroom was filthy. Paid for late checkout (15 pounds! ), but housekeeping interrupted our sleep on three separate occasions despite it. Hallways and then our room stank of cigarette smoke all night, with the staff able to do nothing about it, despite a hotel-wide no smoking policy. Bed was alright; bathroom comically tiny; walls _quite_ thin. There was mold growing in the shower. All in all, terrible value for the money. Marginally better than sleeping in your car.

Great location about 20 minutes walk from the city centre. Large free car park where you can leave your car for a few hours after checking out. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Newly refurbished common areas and some updating of rooms was evident. Free and reliable Wi-Fi. Rooms are a little on the small side and bathrooms are prefabricated, but all areas are very clean and well appointed. There is a restaurant where breakfast, snacks and meals are available at reasonable prices, and a late bar.

Cheap and cheerful. Clean and well laid out. Nice and central for visiting Liverpool sights. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Staff lovely and friendly. Rooms are very small, but as I said, cheap. Free parking for residents. Enjoyed my stay there.

Reception area was clean, modern and well kept. The rooms aren't as modern looking and although weren't sort of felt a bit tired. Staff all very friendly however which always makes the difference to me. Plenty of carparking.

Enjoyed my stay at the Dolby Hotel. The restaurant menu offerings are reasonably priced and the food was good quality. The bar is open until 1am and the staff are friendly. The rooms are quite small and the shower especially cramped, but this isn't something that can be fixed without a magic wand! Room service left the room very clean, tidy and stocked.

We were lucky enough to be put in a bigger room. We had a river side view. The staff was wonderful and breakfast was good but you had to pay for it. Over all a good stay.

Well — first of all — despite that this hotel is meant to be for people — spiders use it as good. When staff informed in the morning to deal with the situation in the room — nothing happens. When room residents is back from daily dwellings — there are more spiders in the room than in the morning. When staff informed about it — usual response follows — which means shortly somebody will come over and make it straight. Time passes and no one is coming. After second call to reception usual answer is being delivered — which means — nothing is taken into account and dealt with. When insisted — finally — after 15 minutes — somebody is starting to deal with the situation. After some time it turns out that morning call has not been taken into account and another spider appears from his morning spot. Well — not really the way we expect staff to deal with anything. Not recommended to stay here.

Rooms were clean and very Compact the room was a family room in my Opion is suitable for 2 people. the bathroom was extremely small shower was very small there wouldn't be much movement allowed in the shower. It would remind you of a port cabin food was excellent very reasonable. the Hotel was about 10/15 min walk from city.

The hotel room was very small and the toilet was like a box and by the end of the weekend, the bin had been emptied twice but rubbish was getting balanced on top like we were all playing a game of Buckaroo Nevertheless, the room was clean and tidy so cant really complain. The hotel staff were all lovely, nothing was too much of a hassle and I enjoyed staying here. I would definitely come back but be aware I wouldnt book a room for any more than 3 people because it would become crammed very quickly.

Rooms were lovely and clean and bed comfortable. A enjoyable breakfast for £7.75 to start the day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back for another stay.

Near the city centre, free parking.

Rooms are small and pretty spartan (no fridge or wardrobe and only 2 wall sockets), but the they are clean, beds very comfortable and shower powerful. Location near Mariner's and Albert Docks puts it in a place for wonderful walks. Recommend walking to the historic Coburg pub for a pint.

So positives first. Cheap, functional, clean linen. Bar and breakfast was good. Staff good.
Negatives. Very little soundproofing on rooms. The most horrendous smell in the room, kind of mouldy smell in room 122. Had to sleep with the window open all night and the smell is so strong when returning to the room. Bathrooms are sealed units like you get on a ferry and tiny. Carpet is pretty gruesome too.
For a one night functional stay it may be ok for some, providing all the rooms don't smell like ours did. Will we return? Sorry no, I'd rather pay a little more and sleep soundly.

Great value close to Docks Rooms are small basic but clean. Bathroom was a small pod in the corner, but surprisingly adequate. Breakfast was excellent and evening meals good value pub grub standard. Best point is the closeness to town and free parking. Worst point was traffic noise through single glazed window. Would book again, but will be asking for a room at the back overlooking the Dock and away from the traffic. Overall very good value.

It's cheap and you get what you pay for. The bunk bed in the room was over the double bed as there was no room beside it. Right on the river. Clean, friendly and good for an overnight visit. But mostly, cheap.

The location was great; a bit of a walk from the city centre but was nice and quiet on the docks. The room was minimalistic but with all amenities; the only problems I had was the tiny bathroom, and we also had a bunkbed across the top of our bed so we hit our heads a couple times. Great looking hotel, and we enjoyed our two night stay :)

Staff were very friendly and always happy to help. Room was clean and everything in its place. Everything that you'd expect from a hotel.

Awful experience. Reception staff were not very helpful and chose to send us the long way round to our room. Bathroom was a small plastic pod with no room for a cat let alone swing it. Could smell cigarette smoke in the corridors. On a positive note breakfast was good. Would not recommend to a friend or go again.

Room was a bit small but very clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Plenty of spaces in the free monitored carpark was a real bonus, this saved £9 to £15 a day in parking charges for hotels in the city centre and around the Albert Docks. About a 10 minute walk to the edge of the city centre. In all very good value.

Rooms tiny, loud and the bath a hoax.

An up-market budget hotel in the French "Première Classe" pattern. Decent quality bed linen, very comfortable bed, super soundproofed rooms, lots of toiletry goodies, catering machines, decent bar, reasonably priced menu, river view. Great location for 500 bus service to and from airport, 20 mins walk to city centre. 2 mins to 24 hr Macdolnalds in a midnightscran emergency. Reviewers who complain about the size of the shower room should remember the price. For me a decent double room for £40 is good value, Dalby delivers this with a little bit of polish. I like it but then I have to pay my own way, no expenses for me.

I booked to stay in this Hotel last October. Its clean and pleasant with great views of the Mersey and its not at all far from the centre. They have a monitored car park which I always good and the bar was well stocked up. After our first stay we decided to visit LIverpool again and wanted to stay in the Dolby again. The rates had dropped which was great as it was cheap in the first place but now its even cheaper! The only bad thing is the reception staff, they were so unbelievably rude and unhelpful over the phone. I rang up the frst time to be told if I wanted to book two nights or less I had to book through the internet. It was not a problem to do it over the phone the last time? After this a week later I tried to book over the phone again but for one night to which I was told immediately that there was no availiability, she onviously knew off the top of her head that this night in particular the whole hotel was booked out. So I checked on the internet and booked a room that way (obviously there was availiability). Apart from the impatient bitched who answer the phones this hotel is perfect for a cheap and cheerful stay in the centre of Liverpool. I just hope for your sake you dont get Katie, Claire or Emily answering the phone when you ring.
