Very nice place, especially on a sunny day, as it's right beside the river. We had the Sunday lunch & it was very good, tasty & well cooked. Desserts were delicious too. Would go again & would recommend to friends.

Went for a drink with a mate after playing golf across the road from Riverside. It was a good pint and bar was nice.

Very clinical feel inside and not very homely. Staff were nice and friendly and the carvery was on point. Be prepared for the local stare of doom when you walk into the bar.

Good for older visitors but not to my liking!

It was a shame as the starters were lovely but our main course, bangers and mash was awful the sausages tasted off the mash was so runny and with the amount of gravy poured over it turned it into a soup! No one came to ask if our meals were Ok, when the plates were collected again we wasn't asked if the meals were ok, I certainly would have if I had seen what was left of the plates etc, think they had a large group arrive and either didn't have time to make sure all their customers were looked after, or just not bothered!

Very basic indeed, breakfast was extra and at £7 50 not worth it, served cold! Tea and coffee served in a cup with UHT milk… would question cleaning of rooms too, TV remote found under bed with can of deodorant from previous occupants which indicates cleaning wasn't very thorough… bedding old and mismatched… was cheap at £55 for a twin room so if you looking for cheap accommodation it's fine …

To stay is good hotel. Friendly workers. Renovated rooms although old and old style persists. A little noisy on Fridays by the bar downstairs.

We had a wonderful Sunday carvery. So refreshing to see happy, helpful friendly staff. Can really recommend it.

I would like to recommend the garlic mushroom from the starter menu and for the main the mix grill … the drinks in the bar was nice and cheap for good brands we will be back … so many many thanks for your hospitality x.

Just have to thank Nick and all his staff for hosting our joint Birthday Bash on 29 July. We have had so many compliments regarding the venue and quality food served to our 100+ guests. We had a fantastic evening with a Live Band and Disco, dancing till the early hours. Many thanks for letting me decorate the pub too. I would highly recommend this venue not only for parties but a fabulous meal. Many thanks once again X.

It's our second time here staying in our Motorhome. We moved from Essex to north of Peterborough just 2 years ago. We are members of the Motorhome Stopover Group which is a fantastic site. The Riverside Hotel Surfleet is most welcoming, whether you are popping in for a drink, snack and/or main meal. Good sized decking behind the launch pad for canoes, boats etc and ideal for fishing. Couldn't want any more. Having a great weekend again.

We anticipated something delightful on the riverside for lunch. What we got was a cheap, badly decorated cafe-style meal. Cheap and cheerful is the most generous comment I can muster.

Had a nice meal here, usual pub fare generous portions and very tasty.

A lovely laid back hotel in a nice location on the banks of a river and overlooking lovely countryside. Yes it is next to a main road but our room overlooks this and with the windows closed is not an issue with sleeping. Had dinner here last night which was very nice. Staff are friendly and pleased to help. I would recommend staying here and not to be put off by negative comments on Trip Adviser.

A very pleasant Sunday Lunch.

We was passing by and decided to call in for Sunday lunch today, the food was very nice, but the staff was ignorant the young waitress was rude and never spoke one word, I all so thought a little clean would help, and some new cutlery is in need felt like I was eating my food with a spade.

Well done Nick and his excellent staff the staff was help full polite and professional.
