The food was inedible. The eggs were raw. The toilet roll was like sandpaper. The rooms were freezing with the wind howling through the windows. The juice at breakfast was watered-down. The only thing that was cooked properly was beans. The room was out dated and over priced. The doors at the entrance were slamming in our faces due to the high winds. There was minimal staffing. No phones were answered for help or room service. The place is a total shambles and the room wasn’t even ready when I arrived amongst my self complaining I heard other customers doing the same.

Very nice baby friendly style lovely room is clean beautiful place to be.

Very nice hotel, stayed here four years ago & again this week, the rooms are lovely, clean & the bed smelt lovely & fresh, comfy too, only gripe was that it was too hot even for January!, nice buffet breakfast especially the sausages. Plenty of car parking back & front & pleasant staff.

Me and my partner stayed 2 nights 10 till 12 the hotel is really nice friendly service the rooms was clean and tidy. The breakfasts was really nice also the entertainment was good I really can't faulty the hotel first time staying and it will not be our last we have enjoyed it. Thank you so much.

Stayed at this hotel a few times. Clean, welcoming and good food, coffees and lunch time snacks are lovely in the relaxing lounge area. Love the themed weeks/weekends. Staff are very helpful, good Wi-Fi reception, what more can you ask for 😀

We stayed b&b on Monday just for one night to recharge our batteries.
Plenty of parking in its own car park. Clean, friendly staff very helpful. We will be back hopefully next year for a few days next time with evening meal.
Lovely bar lounge comfortable. Tea & coffee facilities in room. My other half couldn’t get over the size of the bed.

We stayed here on Saturday, lovely hotel. Clean rooms, lovely staff. The help yourself breakfast was super. Lots of variety from a full English to cereal, fruit and yoghurts. Definitely recommend and definitely stay again 👌

Have just came back from this hotel after going there for our 50th wedding anniversary had a fab time hotel clean food fab staff lovely especially Clare who served at the bar and hotel very covid safe mask on all time when going about hotel hand sanitizer every were so no concerns can't wait to go back.

What a lovely place, friendly staff, great food, quite rooms for children with disabilities will be staying again definitely a place to book when in Skegness x.

Very accommodating, brill staff value for money.

Love this place. Okay, it's not the swankiest Hotel in the world, but the staff are really friendly and helpful, the rooms are smart and clean and the place is full of character.

Pure value for money with fantastic live music and friendly, caring staff… Playing there as part of the live group 'Ready Steady 60's we were looked after like Royalty… An exceptional, quality experience and I totally recommend a visit…

We stayed here for a short break Monday to Friday last week. We thought it was a very good bargain as the food was fantastic and the hotel although a bit dated, was clean and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful and we noticed how friendly everyone was in Skegness which is unusual for a holiday town as they are often fedup with tourists. The week we visited was pretty cold but the hotel was lovely and warm and they didn't skimp on the heating. The evening entertainment was not great but it was probably because of the time of year, there was a solo vocalist on every night and some of them didn't have the best voices but sang songs that most of the guests knew. We really enjoyed our stay so plan to visit again.

5 *. Lovely friendly and breakfast was all can eat. Kept us going all day. Only spent 1 night but wishing we was there for another to make the most of it and use more of the hotel.

Very big old hotel. Some areas need a good paint touch up. Room was fine bathroom was clean. Staff we ok barman was lovely. Enjoy the only night entertainment with got the guy was, very good.

Stayed this weekend, Room, ok but small difficult too get round bed, decour tired, Bedding clean. Seating in lounge, and breakfast restaurant very tired and uncomfortable, We had a evening meal in the main restaurant. Could not fault the food or service, competitive pricing and meal deals. Breakfast was good, although you had too ask for tea… Bar staff very plesant … We had a enjoyable time it not the Ritz… Stayed 2 night's.

I cannot believe the disgusting customer care my 82 year old disabled mum in law received from this hotel yesterday, after arriving by private taxi from Doncaster to a well deserved PRE BOOKED holiday, in a pre requested twin room for herself and her friend, and all her dialysis equipment she was offered an unsuitable double room, which was totally inadequate for her needs, bearing in mind that mum has stayed at The Royal on numerous occasions, and the fact that lots of boxes of liquids have already been delivered to the hotel by the hospital, the staff do know exactly what her needs are, on this occasion Royal you have proven exactly what an uncaring, disregard you have for customers who re visit your hotel regularly, Mum had to come home in a Taxi costing her another £160 very disappointed and distressed, and thanks to you and your total incompetence she will probably end up in Doncaster Royal Infirmary sometime later today due to the stress on her body with travelling to Skegness and back in one day, Many thanks to Julie Hawkesford of 1st Choice Taxis in Skegness for bringing Mum home safely, People beware, be prepared not to get what you ask for at this hotel, we certainly will not be visiting again, you should be ashamed of yourslves and you even has the audacity to charge Mum and her friend for last nights accomodation which you didn't provide, I hope you are very proud of yourselves.

The hotel was clean and tidy, the staff were great, the food was not too expensive and tasted lovely, would definitely go here again.

Large Victoria Hotel with history, Staff are great here, helpful and polite. Food is to a very good standard. Rooms less so, one of the ladies here got locked in the loo The door handle was fixed same day.

Massive hotel with plenty of parking round the front (at the end of the road along the sea end) and at the back. Staff were friendly and very accommodating even has a bar and evening entertainment. Would definitely stay again next time I visit.

They say they take dogs and when you have booked in they give you an a4 sheet things you can not do a were you can not go in the hotel and you are segregated to a little room with you're dog to eat so if you are thinking of taking of going there with you're dog then don't its the worst hotel we have been to say they are dog friendly they are not.

The food was excellent and so was the entertainment. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff were very courteous and helpful.

It was cheap and cheerful. Showers too hot couldn't change temperature, breakfast was average. Decent for a night or two.

The hotel is a short walk from the sea and town centre. The staff on the hotel were friendly and gave excellent service. There was entertainment on several times whilst we were There. We had breakfast which was full English. Really good. A great start to the day. We enjoyed our stay and will visit again. However the hotel is showing its age and in need of a refurbishment.

I have the same age and older to the best time for a while and then we could get it done today I am looking to be the best time for a few days ago will be in the end of our games to get the latest in your country to get the other day fell down the stairs and bumped my head and neck and back of our clients are from a great weekend and then the other side the best way of our clients are based in a boot up for a couple weeks and then the next week or next weekend for you have received your message and then the other side and then the other side and I will send you the best way to get a chance for me and then we could get it for you read the best way of the hotel is in a third of luck to you soon and we are based on a daily email quota in your country to get the future and then the other hand I have to go to be the first one y to the way you could please send the best way to the best way to go with a go at this point in a few days to get the e the other hand I will be able and then though it may work well with with with we are going well for me to be a great day ahead of the person who is the only thing I have.

Excellent weekend staff lovely nice place to go if you fancy a break out of season reasonably prices always something going off 60s 70s 80s 90s weekend's highly recommend it.

Very good Sunday carvery — not normally a need to book but get there early to make sure. Probably need to book in the high season. Meat tasty and tender and lots of veg. Friendly staff too.

2.5 — Seriously what is wrong with these people? — their nonexistant/lack of knowledge of service & people skills is So Unbelievable its ridiculous, and would be laughable, like something out of a comedy horror show, if it wasn't so annoyingly frustrating and didnt interfer with your experience so much. I would have given 2.5 but for the fact you can't because it is 50% ok. The Sunday lunch carvery and the serving Chef are the exception (-plus the long dark straight brown haired manageress (? ) ) — & that's what gets the points — good value and He/she has people skills & is funny & always friendly to boot. The rest of them need some sort of management or people / restaurant training skills.

Found this place on a coach Holliday, the staff seem to be genuinely helpfull and seem to function without the stress factor, very clean and tidy well run hotel, the foods good to.

The staff are lovely warm and welcoming the carvery was good let down only slightly by parts of the meal the meat was beautiful and the desert was delicious.

Good weekend away with food included. Very good food and entertainment Google to very good. Rooms basic with en-suit and flat TV. Helpful, friendly staff. The Indian restaurant has changed to Charlie's.

Can't folt it all the staff are lovely rely clean rooms and good food me and my friend have been 3 times and we love we will definitely come back next year.

My husband and I only stayed here for one night and we were very pleased of our room accommodation. We had a big room, a lovely bathroom (with a bath) and a massive balcony overlooking the view of the turbines at the sea. My husband and I are very impressed of the size of our bed and the shabby chic theme of the rest of the furniture in our room.
The decors around the hotel from the reception to the corridors and staircases, to the bar and dining areas are very elegant. It is very obvious that this hotel pride itself on elegance and class and not at all old fashioned. Thank you to the gentleman at the bar who looked after us when we returned to this hotel after an evening concert at the Embassy Theatre which is only a leisurely ten minutes walk away from this place.

This place looks great from the outside. The reception area is impressive… But… The hallways leading to your room are from another world and so is your room. If your a size 12 woman or a 34 man you will struggle in the bathroom/ toilet. Its about 1100mm wide. The shower was held together with silicone. The bed wasn't good to sleep on and the quilt was in need of sewing as there were rips in it. The bedroom decor was poor. Definitely not worth the cash.

Beautiful hotel to stop in. Just off seafront in Skegness, nicely set in a quiet area just off town centre. Staff very attentive and helpful.

Not very good, the room is too small, the bed is too small, the bathroom smelt of sewerage and we only got a shower not both a bath tub and shower. There is 3 places to eat in this hotel but only 1 was open and it was too small for the demand from residents and a book only so your actually on a timer in eating your dinner, the bar isnt good either there is a lack of seating. The service is friendly, the location is good and the food is nice but that is about it, I won't be staying here again.

Interesting hotel dating back to early 20th century but brought up to date with en-suite bathrooms in the bedrooms. Good sized rooms with comfortable beds. Friendly staff and good breakfast rounds it all off. The public rooms are very pleasant and spacious and the bar prices are very fair. Plenty of parking as well.

Go to Sunday carvery regularly at this place and can't praise it high enough, food is absolutely excellent for price paid, second to none, by far finest Sunday lunch in area.

Went here for family Sunday lunch birthday and contacted the hotel beforehand as I'm newly diagnosed with coeliac disease and wanted to know if they could cater for my gluten free dietary requirements and they went overboard with the chef cooking me my own gluten free Yorkshire puddings and stuffing balls to go with my roast dinner, gluten free veg gravy and for my dessert chef rustled me up a banana fritters in corn batter with maple syrup and scoop of ice cream.

Not Good. Bedroom Bed too small Husband feet sticking out at the end. Bathroom small shower falling off all the time reported it they fixed it and the first time we used it it fell down again became hand held shower. Room door left open all day after the cleaner left. Dining room Staff miserable food okay but the veg were all mixed together in one dish. Bar Staff okay Reception very good. Clean Hotel but had rain leaking in here and there. We were on a coach trip and everybody had the same complaints.

Excellent service and polite and helpful staff. The place is a lovely old place, but we had problems with door width as my wheelchair would not fit through. But the lift and level access was good, and the ability to book a shop mobility scooter for the length of our stay was wonderful.

Very pleased with my recent stay at the royal so much so I booked a third night. Staff very professional friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and spacious. Food both in bar and restaurant was lovely and breakfast too with a very large choice. Will definately stay again and recommend. Totally satisfied with my stay here.

Friendly helpful staff. Restaurant staff couldn't help us enough with my wifes lactose/dairy issue and were happy to go out of there way to accommodate our needs, and couldn't fault the meals, best steak in ages. Great location, close seafront, not too close to town/noise. Warm and comfortable bedrooms. Great bar area serving my favourite on tap. Warm and welcoming, would happily recommend and will return.

The hotel was lovely. The staff were friendly and our room was very comfortable. I would stay there again.

The location is good, the staff are friendly and it is very clean… However the beds are like sleeping on bricks, the rooms need t. L. C (ripped lampshades and none working lamp switches, stains down the wallpaper and nothing as simple as a toilet brush is supplied), the breakfast is o. K at best and paper thin walls. The family in the adjoining room were connected via a locked door in which you could see light from there room through the keyhole (which doesnt say much for privacy). I think the hotel must be kept going because of a reputation founded by its former glory. Overall I found the 2 night stay to be very overpriced.

Dog friendly which is great for us. A little bit dated now but the building and grounds ate great and the staff are very friendly. No dogs in the main bar for those who want to avoid them.

Looked okay on arrival as it was dark. Approached the reception to a miserable looking ederly women. I asked if I could have a room possibly on the higher floor due to wanting a better view. I was more or less Ignored and given my key, by suprise it being 1st floor. My room was situated above the Indian restaurant kitchen and it was extremely hot in there on top of that there was no air conditioning. The room itself was tiny and my bed was about 1ft too small and didn't fit my body I'm 6ft 1 I wasted 107 quid me misses and 2 kids. Only good thing was Indian restaurant food and the breakfast bedbedbed, ng. Waswawnconditioning.

We have stayed at the Royal Hotel many times. The food is good. Some rooms are better and more spacious than others. The hotels in a lovely position, right on the sea front. There's entertainment, or you can just have a drink in the bar area, the seating is a little worn and you may have trouble getting back out of some of the seating as it's a bit low especially for the older guest's. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We are returning next week for a Turkey and Tinsel (should just get us in the mood for our Christmas Shopping) Keep up the good work The Royal Hotel. Fantastic Bollywood restaurant.

My wife and I stayed at the royal for the first time in April 2014 and we could not fault anything about the hotel, all the staff were fantastic and could not do enough to please, the food was plentiful, and second to none, our room was comfortable quiet and we slept very well, and have already booked to stay again in June, Thanks Dave and Marj.

Lovely hotel, lovely staff, rooms great, breakfast was excellent, has themed weekends. Will definitely book again. :-).
