A big thank you to a barman on duty tonight! My Son was playing in the band and accidently got Superglue in his eye whilst setting up. His quick thinking of a bowl of water and cloths helped me clear his eye as we were driving to A&E! Luckily all was fine and he was able to come back and join the band. We ended up having a fab night with a great atmosphere. The Band certainly got people up dancing. Thanks again.

The Royal Hotel is a lovely place to go for a nice pint with nice people within a great building.

Thought would try The Royal for lunch but, sorry to say but will certainly not be returning, although food is well priced it is unappetizing, bland and over cooked will not be returning.

All the staff especially Audrey and Hazel are always full of energy and leave the rest of the lovely younger staff standing they're work ethic has to be Commended thanks to all again best wishes Happy Wanderer Dublin.

When to the Royal after burying our Uncle. We had food. The main meals were ok but the sandwiches were a joke. We wanted wraps but they had no s so we had x4 Hunters chicken sandwiches. My 3 year old grandson could have done them better. They consisted of two slices of bread open. One slice had chicken in the centre only with bbq sauce squirted on it the second slice had bbq sauce squirted on it. There were two cheese and pickle and I have never seen such a mess. Get your food prep staff sorted. This was s bad end to a stressful day.

Came here for a Christmas Party and the food was lovely. I had rissotto and it was beautiful.

Pleasantly surprised how nice this place was to stay. Converted pub building but very friendly and helpful staff. They waited for me up to 2330 before closing down because I had a late train in. Gold star for you! Double room was very nice far better than The Paragon hotel Birmingham. Good bedding, heating and bathroom. Very pleased definitely gonna stay again.

Feel robbed! Terrible service. Waited nearly 20 minutes to check in. No heating all night in winter and when I went to reception to complain there no one there so I had to resort in setting off the fire alarm to get assistance. When the guy eventually came he told me there was nothing he could do at such a time in the morning. Joke!

Oh dear, xmas party a shambles. Very short staffed, although they tried their utmost to please. Main meal dried up roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding. Dessert came out at gone eleven at night, one pudding never did come out as left at eleven thirty. They did make up for it for those who complained by giving out free drinks. Three stars are for the nice staff who worked hard under difficult circumstances.

Having only dined and used the bar side I cannot comment on the hotel. The bar is very modern and range of beers, often busy at weekends. Shows sport on large TV to help locals.

Good food. Really well appointed interior. Real ales available too. Brilliant for watching sport, big scteens & tv's everywhere. Well worth a visit.

This place is really lively on a Saturday night with live music and a new decorated bar area, the only downside is it's no good if your a driver, completely out of zero alcohol beer, but besides that, a good night out.

I attended at this hotel for a professional event. The function room waa spacious and clean but the parking is a bit of a nightmare as the area is tight, not helped by cars parking across the entrances.

Waited 45 minutes for food after we had ordered it. The "chef" had missed our ticket, they gave us another drink on the house by way of apology. When it arrived burgers were not nice they were hard and burnt and the taste was not right. Chips were lovely. I ate 1 of my 2 burgers, my wife took one bite of hers and declared it uneatable. We then had to leave as we had a show at the Plowright to see. We have eaten here before with no issues. I doubt we will be back.

Location great with parking available food was ok.

Nicely done out, meals seem popular, drinks expensive. Bar staff spot on.

1. Get to the bar, no queue, yet it took 10 minutes to get an service. 2. Ordered food and it was an hour wait. 3. Why is there a Christmas tree up at the bar in August?!

Large junction room and lounge area. Separate toilets to main bar. Downside limited car parking.

Excellent town centre hotel, now been refurbished, staff were excellent and dealt with any requirement I had.

Had our wedding here (it's a venue as well as Hotel and bar). Excellent service, friendly staff, large venue-room in the back that can be completely separate from the rest of the customers with it's own entrance. Went back for a two-year anniversary meal and received excellent service again, food is good and prices not bad either.

I would not stay here again we asked for disabled access as we are both disabled and we got put in a room right at the back of the hotel and there is no light bulbs in the lamps and only 2 sugars!

Rooms are freezing, radiators that don't work! But give heaters that aren't that hot, had one room when we came for me and 3 friends and the sofa bed was broke got moves to 2 rooms with 2 singles in each toom, freezing one had a theater in! Other one didn't! Reception staff aren't where there ment to be when you have a issue, tell you to go to the bar and the bar is locked!

Local pub & restaurant. Basic room nothing much. But good cheap food, get what you pay for.

To spend your days q I have left in the uk the step but not.

Could do with a face lift.

I have stayed at this hote quite a few times and although recently refurbished, the rooms have not really changed and it does all seem a bit old and tired. The food is ok, but not fresh and homecooked. In comparison to other hotels it seems a too expensive for what you are actually getting.
