Just had 4 nights here, for the wife's 60th birthday and our 43 anniversary I couldn't complain about anything, great location, lovely lodge room, friendly staff, good beer and food, love it, booked again for June… thank you all.

Excellent for an overnight stay. Great food too and convenient location for walking into Lincoln. Staff were really friendly and always checking everything was ok!

Went on Christmas Eve for a nice family meal. Dark, cold and no festive feel. Food was very mediocre. Staff were not attentive at all. Such a shame as it always used to be really good.

Amazing food, the pie was full of beautiful tender meat and Stilton sauce was so lush!

We’ve had a few good meals here and recommend the chicken breast. Veg selection is fresh and mash is very good. Comfy chairs inside but the decor is drab. Walls inside are grey and one room feels like the inside of a crypt with its wallpaper reminiscent of pull out tombs. It really needs a makeover and some serious cheering up! View outside is great.

Absolutely superb meal at lunch time on the 2nd of August, a party of seven persons at Pyewipe. Perfect attention from the outset. Lovely setting, we had moored on Fossdyke. Delicious food agreed by all, wonderful starters and mains. Huge portions of steak and ale pie, succulent sea bass, delicious duck breast to name some of the super choices. We shall be returning, everything is here for the perfect meal! Thank you.

First time going there. Food was lovely staff very friendly. Really enjoyed my experience would definitely go again.

I had lunch with my wife and Grandaughter this afternoon. We were there for 11:20 and found that there were at least 28 people there we queued for 5mins and shown to a table the service was great and the food was great I had my back to the rest of the area but when I looked round the whole area was packed and still they were queuing at 12:40 we left.

Good service, beautiful riverside setting and superb staff who are friendly and managing Covid-19 restrictions brilliantly. The food is high quality and delicious, well presented and homemade. We love this place!

A spur of the minute visit but so glad we did, beautiful location a little off the beaten track will plenty of outdoor dining space with good covid regulations in place. Our first time dining out since last November so it was fabulous to not have to cook. The food was lovely and reasonably priced, the staff were very polite and very efficient. Will definitely recommend and visit again 🌈

Three of us went for a light lunch. All had starters. Hubby ordered the vegetable soup. Half a teacup of coloured water with 8 small cubes of veg. Very disappointed. I ordered the pate. It was tasteless. Very disappointed.

Lovely rooms with very comfortable bed. Good, clean bathroom. The bar is lovely and cosy with great food and very friendly staff. One of our favourite places for a night away.

Brilliant location but we couldn’t partake in the outside due to standard British weather. Lovely mix of old and new on the inside so a great place to eat.
We had the Thai curry and Mrs B loved it. I had the Parma wrapped chicken breast on mash with an amazing Stilton sauce. Mrs B loves that too!

You can drive, cycle or boat out to this pub but whichever you chose, it’s worth it.

Lovely atmosphere food really good even too much at times. Friendly and polite staff. A great place to unwind and enjoy a drink and a meal. Unfortunately we are going back to Australia so look forward to the next visit.

Loved it. Unusual to visit a house that looked lived in rather than a museum. Beautiful furniture and artefacts, enjoyed the Chinese wallpaper, everything well cared for and displayed. Enjoyed the gardens and the moat! Hope to visit again.

Plenty of parking spaces and tables outside. Food good but could be better for the price-had vegetable curry with huge chunks of veg, mainly carrot. Would like to see more colour and more nicely presented.

Great food here, ordered a few meals at the visit, the beef and ale pie was generous with the amount of meat and was beautifully cooked. So tasty! Nice to sit out on the river watching boats go by on a nice day — also has some visitor moorings for boaters.

Ive eaten absolutely delicious meals here every time I've visited. The Christmas menu is fab! Nice pub area and friendly staff. Nice place to cycle to and stop for a drink on the river bank.

Had Sunday roast, lovey fiood, great service, great place to be on a warm sunny day, major problem with wasps, to the point it’s put me off eating there outside ever, not only one round you but 4-5 at a time, and men’s toilets were awful (so my husband says) ladies were fine x.

Really great food. The restaurant side looks a bit dated but the bar was quite cozy and there is a good outside terrace by the river. Toilets were clean, which is a bonus. The staff were pretty good and we're friendly, nothing was too much trouble even as we were the last two people lazing around until closing time. The food was a cut above what I was expecting. Stilton sauce just right and a bacon and chive mash. Will go back for more menu sampling.

Me and the hubby out for a walk and a few drinks. We had the pate and the creamy mushrooms for starters. Very generous portions. Then I had the steak pie and chips which was absolutely amazing. Not a single bit of fat and Iv never had so much good quality steak, in a pub grub steak pie before. Hubby had the haddock and chips again brilliant. Can’t find a fault to be honest and I am not easily pleased. Great meal great location will definitely be back.

It is a very friendly pub the staff were quick. They looked after us whilst we had our meal. The Sunday Lunch was excellent and we enjoyed the excellent food. I would recommend to all to visit. You will enjoy.

Visited today Sun 27th. The sunshine had brought everyone out. Managed to get a table for the three of us in the bar area. Food was great. Very hot and tasty. Reasonably priced. Waited about 25 minutes but they did have a large party dining in the dining room and we didn't book so this was not a problem. My only criticism is that the wait at the bar to actually order food and drinks is excessively long. Maybe table service for food would be an idea. I saw at least 4 waiting on staff floating about so it's not as if they are short staffed and this would also relieve the bar staff as outside drinkers were plentiful today… however overall a lovely place that I hope to go back too.

Venue location is great, especially for being outside in the sunshine and being next to the water. Layout internally is good too. Shame about the décor though, really doesn't suit the venue and what you would expect. Main issue for us was, is and always has been, some of the long standing staff there. Pleasantries come across as forced and false. Not overly helpful and not very welcoming. For example, recently a young girl asked for a plate of chips and the reply was "no, sorry, we don't serve just chips. Chips are a side order. Perhaps if you order a starter we can place some chips as a side". I couldn't believe that reply, just not what you'd expect at all. Not great for business really and that remark came from a member of staff who'd been there for some time. You'd expect a more welcoming customer service to be fair. The food is ok but slightly over priced for what it is.

Had Sunday lunch of roast beef, it's nice and reliable, adequate, good for guests though possibly a little too pub like for business. It did feel it would be something special deserving of five stars getting a little more flavour and a little more time on the beef, good mash and roasts, maybe a little more adventurous with the vegetables, though thankful they avoided garden peas. The Yorkshire pudding was gorgeous though I would have liked another with a little more gravy on it. Hot chocolate was good though I didn't care much for the topping, also a nice pint of Ruddle's here. Not the greatest Sunday lunch of them all, but they would not have too far to go to achieve that if they experiment a little.

Nice location, good food and friendly staff. The prices seemed reasonable and I would recommend visiting. Ample parking and nice waterside location.

A beautiful, scenic inn overlooking the canal and with views of Lincoln Cathedral. The food has been great without being overpriced and the staff have been friendly and helpful. Without a doubt, I will be coming back to the Pyewipe Inn on my next stop in Lincoln.

Had the pleasure of both dining in the pub and staying in the lodge with my husband and two children, the staff were very warm and welcoming. The room was immaculate and the shower was incredible, so much so I struggled to get the youngest out! Food was wonderful, full of taste and beautiful presentation. My husband being a vegetarian was able to choose from a large range of options which isn’t found in many pubs. In the morning the breakfast was lovely, I personally had poached egg on toast with the request that the egg was slightly less runny and the request was met perfectly. From both the children and adults of the family we would recommend 10/10. Cannot wait to return, hopefully with a bit more sun next time!

The location, food and drink, all very nice. But the decor — with the bright blue heroin lights next to antiques? Not sure what message that gives out? Also the staff have clearly never worked in a proper pub as their manner with customers is uncomfortably formal!

Absolutely loved the menu and chosen meals. Would definitely return to eat. Fabulous vegetarian selection and great choice of real ale. Lovely summer location for outdoor drinking and dining beside the manmade canal.

Awful not what I was expecting after what friends had said. Food same as anywhere else. Booked table for 2 but put on table for 4 in large room where a loud party was taking place. Nice to sit outside in the summer though.

Good honest food well presented, large selection of dishes available and vegetarian options. A choice of two ales could be improved on! Lovely location next to the river, good to walk or cycle to in summer.

Very reasonably priced for Sunday lunches with facilities to cover weddings and functions right beside the river… tucked out of sight away from the main roads… worth a visit.

For me it's the best tasty food in Lincoln at the Pywipe Restaurant. Never fails to step up to the plate. I enjoy their food so much I always make a point to visit their restaurant frequently.

This is our second visit, it won't be the last.
Rooms are spacious, beds are huge, would have liked a bath after a days shopping, but the shower is adequate.
Breakfast was nice, but the chef needs to cook his eggs a bit longer, my poached egg was very undercooked, and my husbands fried egg needed longer, and we never got offered any more toast to go with the preserves.
Well worth a visit.

We have just arrived home from a lovely weekend and booked again for our anniversary later in the year. We were unsure if we would make it due to myself being unwell with tonsilitus but I trudged on and am so glad we did. Chris and his team could not have done enough for us during our stay they swapped our restaurant booking at very short notice and looked after us so well. The lodge was lovely clean, smart, comfortable and nice and quiet away from the pub. (only inconsiderate others staying in the lodge, drunk and in high spirits I guess made noise). Location was perfect a lovely walk from lincoln centre. Now for the best bit the food, absolutely incredible food large portions, good prices, good service all round superb. We cannot wait to come back.

A lovely place to stop after a long walk in the countryside. Lots on the menu, but we settled for Sunday roast dinner. Food was not too bad and huge serving. It's a nice walk on the pathway along the river from Lincoln.

Warm welcome and great home cooked food. Sometimes chefs try too hard to please and when we asked for just salmon and chips with nothing else that's what we got. My homemade burger was lovely. Bit weird to see only male members of staff. Where are all the women?

Lovely walk down the river to it a varied selection off but would've liked a option baguette, sandwiches. All in enjoyed experience very much and would go back.

Canal side pub providing excellent food and a wide range of drinks. Eat either in the bar area or in a comfortable restaurant. Choose from a wide ranging menu and an extensive blackboard. Ample outside tables. Large free car park.

Fantastic location, very polite and friendly staff, the food was very good too it would have been a five star if the workman renovating the room opposite had not started sawing wood and banging about at 7.00am in the morning waking both my wife and I.

Poor service to be honest, when I arrived & ordered drinks I also asked were they still serving food the barmaid simply said 'yes until 9' there was no offer of a menu or where to get 1. We simply finished our drinks and took our custom elsewhere!

Good pub in a great location. Good quality, tasty food. Be prepared for a short wait on food at busy times but everything is cooked fresh, so it's to be expected. Great lunchtime venue on a sunny day or midway on your walk along the Fossdyke.

Nice pub. Friendly staff and the Sunday lunch looked nice. Outside seating was in good shape and had umbrellas. I only dropped in whilst walking but I will probably visit again.

An early wedding present. A lovely place to stay for the weekend. Very popular and booking is essential. Canal walk right into Lincoln. Great food too. Very helpful staff. Accommodation is separate from main building so is lovely and quiet at night. Would definitely stay again.

I was very impressed with the Inn the staff were helpful and friendly the good was delicious and value for money can't recommend this restaurant enough.

Great location, perfect for cyclists like myself (just be responsible with your drink if cycling! ) … Although I didn't eat during this visit, I'll be back for the food, it looked really good!

The Pyewipe is a nice stroll along the riverbank from Lincoln. It has a lovely beer garden overlooking the river. The food is generally good and of reasonable value, but it the setting that is most appealing. It can get busy in the summer, but there is normally a relaxed atmosphere.

Gorgeous spot for a pub with beautiful views. Quite a walk to get there but definitely a reward for the effort.

Went for a restaurant meal and drinks. Venue, especially outdoor area and restaurant are stunning. Meal was quite possible the best I've had in my life, and service was great. Could not recommend highly enough.

We booked the function room for a family birthday. Everything was professional and the service and food without any issues. An ideal venue for this and any other semi formal function. Thanks to the staff, a fun night I a lovely location.

A lovely stay although short, just one night. The location is just perfect, both the room and the bathroom were spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable plus there was plenty of tea and coffee etc on the hospitality tray. The staff were really polite and friendly. Didn't eat there at night but the cooked breakfast couldn't be faulted. My only complaint would be the thin walls! At one point I was convinced the people in the next room were in OUR room using OUR tea making facilities! We would certainly stay there again.

We stayed for 1 night at the lodge. Very pleasantly surprised. The room was large, bed linen superb, will definitely come again. Also the cooked breakfast was delicious and staff very friendly.

Ive just taken my girlfriend here for a birthday meal. From hearing how good the Pyewipe was and about the quality of food, I was shocked. The Chef does not know food! We wouldn't say that we know lots about food but we know the basics, such as seasoning, how to cook salmon and even what constitutes a duck breast. The salmon was over cooked and had no seasoning, the duck breast was caked in pepper and, although the sous chef said that it was a whole duck breast and it was cut in half, it really wasnt, One half was red and rare, the other side wasnt, plus they didnt meet in the middle and were complete different sizes. One of our main plates was hot, the other was cold, the potatoes bland etc etc. Who ever would call this good food must not have been to the Castle Hotel or the Grill at the White Heart, thats the closest to fine dining in Lincoln! Please please please, look somewhere else before you eat there as its expensive and poor.

I was massively impressed with the quality of the food. The staff were excellent. This is well worth a visit and I will come again. Top work by a great little team.

Love this place, great for a pint with mates. If you go at peak times or when there are events on be prepared for a little wait, that's life — deal with it — you are not the most important person in the world. Give the staff a chance and be courteous and you will have an amazing time. Or as they say, just grab a pint and sit by the river.

What a disappointment. Went there for a valentines day meal. First two choices were not available so went with the fish and chips. When it arrived the fish was slimy so I sent it back. It came back the same. When I said for a second time it was not right the owner came over and told me it was right it should be like that as its not cod! I quote "It's a cheap piece of fish" I found out after it's a Vietnamese catfish which is the cheapest piece of fish you can buy (Tesco only sells it in there value range). and all this for a bargain price of £11.95. Do Not eat here.

Nice pub, nice location, but the staff let it down. They have a flippant, surly attitude; almost like they're too good to be serving you and that your custom isn't important to them. Especially the lad with the big nose who made my fiance and I wait for our change yesterday whilst he discussed the football results with the other barman. This isn't the first time I've left this establishment feeling somewhat irritated. Why do I keep going back? Location, location, location. I just wish who ever owns the place would take their staff in hand and make them realise that the customer is king, not them.
