We had the Sunday lunch menu take away. We were very impressed the food was excellent. Portions were big. We had a 20min drive back home and the food was still piping hot when it was served. Will definitely be ordering again. Thank you.

Fantastic service this evening — delivered on time & still lovely and hot. I am sorry I don’t know the ladies name who answered the phone/delivered our meal but she is brilliant, so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food was fab, burger box meal delicious, proper pub grub… the chips are the best round here! Thank you for our lovely tea — see you Sunday for Sunday lunch take out! (so sorry didn’t manage to take a photo! )

Just had an amazing takeout Sunday lunch. The beef was cooked to perfection, generous portions & it was really tasty thank you.

We came for lunch today the food was amazing — I had the cod with a chorizo and bean fricassee which was amazing — a thoroughly enjoyable occasion. And the waitresses were fab xx.

We had the taster menu and quite excellent would recommend.

Had fish chips and peas, the peas where dry and had a very strange taste to them, informed the waitress who said would talk to the chef, never heared anything back not got offered a free drink or anything.

Me and my hubby had a fabulous meal in the restaurant on Friday evening for valentines. The meal was beautiful, the wine we chose was perfect and the service was brilliant. We were catered for very well with gluten free options too. We will be back again soon with friends because it's well worth another visit.

10 of us from Friday crafters at the Coop attended today for Christmas meal was amazing turkey stuffing with full trimmings and tasty sauce just a tad better than the usual Christmas dinner.

As a party of 22 we were made very welcome. We had the Christmas menu, it was delicious and everyone was served at the same time. The chef, owner and staff worked very hard and created a great atmosphere.

Delicious Sunday lunch with choices to suit all at a good price. Pleasant surroundings and friendly helpful staff.

Friendly attentive staff, Extensive menu, Very tasty food, Not just dog friendly but they have a dog menu! Take your well behaved dog for dinner with you, if you are not into dogs, half of the pub is dog free, what's not to like!

Food and service was excellent, priced very reasonable, I did find the ramps for disabled a bit steep and uneven But other than that all good.

Went yesterday, because it was recommended as Dog Friendly. It certainly was, with dog treats and even a dog menu etc. But The George was even more Human friendly. We had a fantastic a reasonably priced lunch. Highly recommended!

We recently spent 2 nights in Barton, we ate at The George on both nights. The food was beautiful, hot & well presented.
The staff were professional, friendly & sociable. We really enjoyed our visit on both nights. Wishing them all the best for their future.

A small, quaint pub, with a B&B and a pool table. No John Smiths on the day I went. Or Stella.

Great pub and restaurant. Good old fashioned decor, ambience and service. Good selection of beers and real ales. This is my kind of pub!

The George Inn has recently fallen into new ownership. This used to our local before it closed, we went back shortly after re-opening and the new team are very friendly. We ate in the restaurant and the food was great — proper pub grub that's tastes as if it's cooked fresh. We will be making this place our local again.

Went in Saturday 815pm, very quiet, drinks a tad dear, not eaten there. Apparently bar closes at 10pm if residents are there, decor clean and tidy, staff pleasant.

Only been reopened 3 weeks and it is like it has always been there. The food was restaurant quality and very reasonable prices. Definitely going back and would not hesitate to recommend.

Now closed. Another victim of brewery tennent relationship stacked against landlords no doubt.

Not a bad atmosphere but 2 pints (1 beer and 1 cider) cost close to £8, and it's not even anywhere near London!

Had a Birthday Party in Feb 12. The meal was excellent. Both Sarah and Jim made the whole event happen successfully. Looked after the 18 members of our party. Good real ale. Very good accommodation in a good central part of town. Car park on site. Very helpfully staff.

The hotel is family run and has a very English character. Breakfast and dinner were very good (although it is said to often bad of English cuisine). Although there have been no large luxury I felt the stay at the hotel very pleasant — not to compare with impersonal hotel rooms of any chain.
