Wow! The food was amazing, would have photographed it but we were hungry! We had the lentil and carrot vegan burger and The Trawlers Basket. Loved that the fish wasn't playing hide and seek in the batter and the thick cut chips were spot on. My partner said the burger was "bloody amazing". Staff were attentive and very polite. Thank you 😊

How have I never been here? I LOVE IT! Absolutely fabulous food, all the cosy feels and the bartender and staff were super welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and really good with my dietary requirements. A superb touch was the log fire. I will definitely be back! Thank you x.

Lovely Pub beautiful garden, they have pulled out all the stops so that all their customers can enjoy a drink & a catch-up with friends. Food is lovely too, we enjoyed their burger & chips, takeout in a box but still great. Will be back for when they can serve food on plates in side for definite. Thank you all at The Falcon.

Ordered 3 chocolate orange brownies and homemade ice cream and it was very nice the best brownies ever had would definitely recommend!

Stayed for one night while working. Lovely friendly staff, nice food, room was comfy clean and big and your dog can stay if you want which is a bonus. Nice breakfast would 100% recommend x❤️

New owners have transformed the atmosphere/menu & food. Staff are all lovely & helpful. We now eat hear quite often! BUT… please bring back the Pinot Noir!

Just had a great meal with my family. We would highly recommend great service, friendly and the food was lovely and a great choice for both adults and children. What a find! Thank you for a brilliant experience we will definitely be back!

Ordered the Greek skewers and asked for no olives in the Greek salad. Lo and behold the salad was mainly olives. Hubby had the steak and ale pie. Pastry like concrete and full of burnt steak. Waitress was great and only charged us for our drinks. Shame about the food.

This is our first meal since the new owners took over. The new dining room upstairs is really nice, they have done a great job renovating it. The staff were friendly and our server had a great sense of humour. The wine was great and the food even better! I had the scotch eggs to start, delicious! Unfortunately no room for pudding but next time I won’t eat all day to make room.

Great food, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff.

Had stayed previously and received great breakfast, so we went today for lunch. I requested beef that was well cooked, and I got bloody meat. Nobody came to check food was ok, and I had left most of the meat I was given — didn’t even feed it to our dog! I pointed this out to the waitress when she collected the plates and all she said was she would tell the chef. We got the bill and they proceeded to charge us for 2 courses — even though we couldn’t face staying fir dessert. Sadly will not be returning.

Been today with my mum for lunch. From the moment I phoned to reserve a table, the service was excellent. The lovely ladies who served us were friendly, food was presented beautifully and delicious. We even exchanged pleasantries with the chef too. … We were made to feel very welcome and we will certainly be back. Thank you.

Have eaten here many times before and never had a bad meal. Sadly this evening the pub appeared understaffed and the food was poor. Steaks served up as medium rare were drier than the desert.
The evening was topped off by the lack of cheese and biscuits as an option for dessert.
Extremely disappointing…

To the staff; My girlfriend and I stayed over Summer Bank Holiday weekend to attend one of your regular's son's wedding to my neice. We're on good territory here and it would have been difficult to tarnish such an occasion, but in actuality our experience at The Falcon enhanced the weekend beyond measure. From the moment we arrived, you were welcoming, attentive and never once showed anything but delight at our presence, a tough trick in hospitality unless of course, it's genuine. Either way, we felt instantly at home and part of the family. The room was quaint and comfortable, the beer was first class and fairly priced, the food was great even when catering for 20odd of us on the Saturday evening, the breakfasts were perfect and plentiful. I have rarely witnessed a team work so beautifully together, it was a lot to ask of you and we ended up feeling slightly guilty of the demands put upon the establishment over three, what must have been for the put-upon staff, very long days. I only caught Lewis's name but each and every one of you was an absolute delight. The occasion was always going to be unforgettable, but above that I hope it gives you all some satisfaction to know those memories will be enhanced with an inertia of warmth, friendship, and humanity that you all showed under difficult circumstances. Valentine's meal ruined by serving us pork after booking and dietary requirements discussed a month prior. The owner took away the course without replacing it and moved us swiftly on to the next course. We were given a glass of wine for the inconvenience but nothing for the course we were promised and paid for. The owner was all over the place and seemed to be absorbed playing the big boss and no focus on quality promise. His staff were too embarrassed to look at us. It was all very displeasing and uncomfortable.

Lovely, friendly village pub, dogs welcome, (whether you sat or drink/eat). Excellent food. Very friendly staff & landlady.

We stayed in a twin room for four nights for Download 2018. What an absolute find! Ellie and team were brilliant — friendly, knowledgeable and nothing was a problem. They even ferried us to and from Download. The room was clean, with lovely decor, and everything was tidied and topped up promptly. Car parking was fab. The village is quiet and pretty. There's a village shop close by. It was totally civilised sleeping in a comfy bed and having a hot shower followed by an amazing cooked breakfast prior to heading off for the day. Oh, and the pub food and gin library are both most impressive! Just couldn't fault it, and will definitely be back!

More than 5 stars really. Stayed this weekend with a friend for Download Festival and the place is perfect. Our hosts Ellie and Paul have the most amazing pub and rooms. The hospitality they offer is without doubt the best we've ever had, going above and beyond what we expected. Lovely rooms, great breakfasts and more gin than I've ever seen! Already booked our room for next years Download as there's no other place we'd want to stay (and we've previously stayed in 5 other hotels nearby). Book us down for every year! Ellie and Paul deserve all the success they get with the Falcon Inn as they've put their heart and soul into it. Thanks for making a great weekend just perfect. Martyn and Russ.

Went today for Sunday lunch. Food fantastic, and service excellent. Will definitely be returning.

My girlfriend and I made the trip up to Long Whatton from Wales and stayed here for only one night for Download festival and in that one night we had an amazing experience. Not only was both the bar and room beautiful but I can't say enough nice words for the landlords, Ellie and Paul, all the staff and the Falcon Inn family we had the pleasure of meeting! We felt like we were staying with friends not just a B+B. Now we just need an excuse to go back there and stay again.

Fantastic food, lovely staff. Made celebrating our Dad's 70th a real treat.

Excellent food. Stayed locally so went for tea and breakfast — both delicious.

Fantastic Gin & Tapas night held upstairs at the Falcon. Wow factor when you walked into the room with high tables, candles and a great brochure regarding Gins and the recommended Tonics and Garnish. Tapas cooked by the wonderful Chef Team complimented the evening. Added value came by the walk around Magician. Wonderful evening.

Service was very good, prices were very reasonable and the food… I have worked as a chef myself for many years and the meal I had here was hands down, the best meal I have ever had! Nowhere else comes close. I had the belly of pork with roasted apple, seasonal veg and dauphinoise potatoes, it was amazing, highly recommended if you are in the area, and even if you're not, it's worth the drive!

Went here on a bank holiday Monday and really please with the food, service, wine and coffee. Unfortunately too full for dessert so will have to return! Perfect winter pub as they have log burners and candles and all round comfy and cosy feel.

Friendly pub, very good food at reasonable prices. Massive gin range! Rooms are attractive, although our bathroom could do with a makeover.

Great food, the pizza is especially nice. Rooms are old school, nice but small. I'm only 5'7 and still managed to hit my head in the shower! Twice! Room cleanliness was ok, there was hairs left in sink.

We went for lunch having seen they were dog friendly. We took our two dogs one is a puppy so we were trying to get him used to that environment. Needless to say abit boisterous. When settling in he unfortunately caused us to spill a glass of wine. The ladies on shift couldn't have been more helpful and understanding at the situation and dealt with it promptly. Throughout the meal the waitress was attentive and friendly. The food was good and very much worth the price paid. It's not a massive pub but that kind of adds to the atmosphere you could that it's very local friendly and regulars seem to enjoy it there. Will be visiting again that's for sure!

This place is amazing. The staff are friendly and go beyond any expectations to help out and make your stay stress free. The rooms are fantastic. We ate here and the food was great.

Don't order the steak! They have no idea how to cook a steak how you ask for it. Come on people check out youtube. Also chips were cold. But in the good side onion rings were nice.

Lovely stop for a drink or food. There was a roaring fire when we got there. They have the most impressive gin collection I've ever seen. A little on the pricey side but worth it.

Popped into the Falcon for some last minute food one evening. Was very happy upon leaving after having some excellent food and excellent drinks. Seems like the other pubs in the area need to step up their game to keep up with this gem of a place.

Lovely oldie worldie pub. Stayed in Holiday Inn next to East Mid airport whilst I was staying on a course, but travelled to The Falcon for my dinner every night during my stay up here. Wish more pubs were like it. Not many like it where I live anymore.

Superb hospitality. Jad is a hands-on host with flair and a tremendous attention to detail. He is a maestro of atmosphere makes everyone feel very special and very cared for. There is a beautiful outside bar area which instantly transports you to the Mediterranean.
