Another great stay at The Belmont. Fab team, lovely room and fab location.

Absolutely superb, this is the first time that I have posted a review before leaving a Hotel!, I arrived here after travelling at 2am from Ireland for a Rugby match in Leicester 😴!. The staff at reception are superb and couldn’t be more professional and helpful!. An absolutely perfect place to stay!. Highly recommended!. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Took my mum for an afternoon tea for her 50th birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. The chef even threw in an extra surprise for it being a birthday celebration! Highly highly recommend.

Stayed overnight 2nd December as travelled from Birmingham with a friend to go to de Montfort Hall. Lovely hotel, staff are amazing, room beautiful with everything you need. Also had a meal in the afternoon, superb service and excellent food. Breakfast this am in the restaurant was also excellent. Will certainly be back.

We had a lovely stay again at The Belmont Hotel in Leics. This weekend. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and go out of their way to help in any way. Breakfast was so tasty and very nice. Our room was very roomy and lovely bathroom — Altho. We were hot during the night as we only had a small window in our room we enjoyed our stay again.

Had lovely time celebrating our parent’s Diamond anniversary, they had their wedding reception here in 1961.
The staff were lovely and made them feel really special. We had champagne afternoon tea, which was delicious. Thanks to Sian and the team.

Came for the date night package absolutely loved it, from start to finish. Room was lovely food was good! Staff very attentive and felt safe in current situation we will be back highly recommend x.

Lovely experience for afternoon tea for my daughters 9th birthday. We felt very looked after and safe. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious, the highlight was the warm scones and proper jam and cream.

From check in to check out staff were friendly & efficient. Room was spotless. Lovely tea tray & bottled water were a nice touch. Breakfast was yummy.

Great hotel. Brilliant service,, great staff team. Everything you need in your room. Great meals fab restaurant. You need to change your tea pots though … that's a messy businesses, especially for me the fear factor n spillage just before heading out to my working day … coffee/ tea stains is a no no!

Cozy hotel in a historic building near restaurants and shopping. Staff is very attentive and the on-site restaurants are excellent.

We stayed here for 2 nights for the wedding of my brother. The staff were amongst the friendliest I have ever come across at a hotel from the receptionist to the bar staff to the cleaners who all made us feel exceptionally welcome. The rooms were clean and large in size giving myself, my wife and 2 small children more than enough room to relax. Additionally the food was delicious.

(Did not stay in the hotel — just ate in the restaurant). The restaurant was very clean and well-decorated. The building itself was beautiful inside and out. I had a roast beef meal which was very nice, other than the fact that it was cold, and the roast potatoes weren't particularly nice. The staff were very helpful, friendly and polite and a free bottle of wine was given to us, as we were celebrating.

Fantastic hotel the Belmont. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, Our room was well presented and the bed was just wonderful to sleep in and the breakfast was tasty, wholesome and very well presented and we will definitely stay there again.

We had our wedding here. Very very good service from the staff and the planning was great. Slightly expensive for the venue but we would do it all again.

Lovely looking hotel although I was met by miss misery at reception, who promptly told me there was no smoking in the rooms! I don’t smoke! I ignored that and went up to my room I had to take a heavy bag up some stairs which was annoying, she will have known that I stayed in room 136… anyway I ordered some food, I wanted the seafood and asked if there was bacon in it he said I will check he said it looks like there is bacon but didn’t actually know, so I ordered the egg, and then asked for veggie crips he said there wasn’t any… then said there was sea salt… I remained polite then I ordered orange juice with ice… 30 mins go by and no food so I contacted reception he said oh we didn’t know which room it was! Then he called back to tell me he couldn’t bring my food as I’d not authorized my card and had to them come to reception! In my PJs I wouldn’t mind but I payed 100 to stay here you really think I’m gonna do a runner over £7… I said I had cash but he refused… as I type I’m still waiting it has now bee 50 mins! room looks nice but I expect that for the price… food has arrived on white bread when I asked for brown… salad and no dressing not even salt I wanted to relax tonight but spent it trying to get food I cld have gone out and ordered a takeaway! I’m livid…
Ok, so I’ve ordered breakfast in room, from 7.30 till 8… I called 7.45 to check if it’s on it’s way and was told chef doesn’t begin till 8am!

Friendly staff, great food and pleasant surroundings. Lots of little areas to relax, have a drink, read or use a laptop around the downstairs area. I can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay.

Very good location — quiet, but only about a 423 second walk away from Leicester railway station. Room — in annex on ground floor — was a little small, offering limited storage, whilst the bathroom facilities need updating. Breakfast was generally okay, although the orange juice consistently had a strange after taste. 50/50 whether I'd stay again.

Service was alright, room was kind of dated and needed some general maintenance (was woken up by creaking floor boards from the room above). The cleanliness was pretty bad, found a baby pacifier in the corner and the bathroom had previous occupants hairs, makes you wonder what other corners are being cut. Wouldn't stay there again unless I was really stuck.

A very comfortable hotel with competitive prices. The staff polite and helpful, breakfast good, clean rooms and a very comfortable nights sleep.

Love the combination of oldie world meets contemporary. Great atmosphere here, professional helpful Staff. Lovely place for a peaceful midday snack away from the city, even if you are not a resident. Also had Christmas Day dinner here which was lovely.

Came to the hotel last night for a hen night, we were made most welcome by the wonderful staff and my compliments to the chef for the excellent meal we received. All in all a lovely hotel, which I would recommend for any special event l!

Great food good service huge room I took the executive room it was well worth it. Room was comfy and not sterile like many rooms nowadays.

Went to have afternoon tea with a group of colleges, a retirement and baby shower. Had a thoroughly good time. Service was excellent Would recommend this hotel for afternoon tea.

Stayed in a suite for 1 night very comfortable although a little too warm. Staff very helpful and friendly, breakfast ok.

Pleasant room, good shower, only issue was it got a little too warm for me I needed the window open constantly and there can be a lot of noise from students walking through the park.

Myself and my daughter stayed last night and had a lovely stay. Room was lovely and staff very friendly and helpful. We had dinner in Jamie’s and even tho the menu was quite small, the food was lovely and again bar staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and had a really good choice. Buffet style and all hot from the hot plates. My only criticism would be that the room didn’t have convenient plug sockets available for phones ect. To have it on the bedside table I would of had to unplug the bedside table. Perhaps current sockets behind bedside tables could be upgraded to have usb sockets. If my daughter comes to Leicester uni I’m happy in the knowledge I have a great hotel to come and stay at.

Stayed at the Belmont for 2 nights while seeing friends. It's in a great location with private car park, near town and the train station but still quiet as it's just off the New Walk promenade. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, if not a slightly dated bathroom but everything worked no no biggy. When we had breakfast the staff were quick to seat us and the food was nice in the full English I had. Overall a nice stay.

Great hotel. Good value and close to the city centre. Nice walk down New Walk past the museum.

Festive Afternoon Tea Great afternoon tea as a festive alternative to a Christmas Meal. Good selection of cakes and drinks included in the price (per volume, tea is the best option as you get a pot! ). Only downside was the sandwich selection presented as not to everyone's taste but more than enough food for this not to be a problem. Good service and friendly staff too makes for a very relaxing environment.

My son's wedding was put on by the Belmont. We couldn't have asked for a better day. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was superb.

I stayed at the Belmont when I was visiting my son at Uni. The hotel is ideally situated between the Uni and the city centre with free parking which is very handy. My single room was a very good size, smart and comfortable. I will almost certainly stay there again.

A lovely setting with nice food. We went for afternoon tea which was good but I would have liked more choice/selection.

Went for afternoon tea. We were a little disappointed that we got 4 small sandwiches each on plate rather than having them on a stand. Everything was very nice but we did have to ask for more drinks rather than being offered them. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time so no excuse really for not being attentive!

The Belmont is a three-star hotel that is very good value for money for what it is. The rooms are well appointed, the common areas are well kept and the place blends traditional character with modern quality very well. The staff are friendly and attentive and well trained. It's an easy walk to the station, the town centre and the stadium. The only downside is that parking is limited and a bit awkward if you have a large car.

Lovely hotel most staff where grate. I did wait an hr for brakfas with three small kids as I watched pepole come in after me and get served. We got our full English breakfast very disappointing a bit of bacon beans hash brown and tomato (£13) you need to come to Scotland and get a breakfast I'd have been better going to a burger van. I also had to ask for more time to check out as after an hour of waiting the kids had all ran off. Would have been better at the premiere inn is it as it would have suted the price for the service we where also part of a very large group that where staying there for the weekend.

I've been in a really small Room, but that was so cute and had everything I needed, even something to iron clothes. Plus a good bed and a hot big shower. Furthermore there were an impressive arrangement for having Breakfast.

The food was generally lovely but I am dairy free and the dairy free option for the cream tea was much smaller than everyone else's with no savory option. I appreciate they accommodated me but I left tea hungry and I paid the same as everyone else. However everyone else loved it.

We had our wedding reception at the Belmont last weekend. From start to finish everything was fantastic. Caroline was so organised and helpful in answering all of my questions before the day. On the day the food was amazing and all of the staff were so friendly and made us feel really welcome. Even at breakfast the next morning the staff were making sure that we had enjoyed our day. Couldn't recommend highly enough and so reasonably priced! Thanks again!

We had our wedding on 22nd April 2017 we had the best day ever me and my bridal party stayed the night before the room was lovely breakfast is really good. The day of the wedding all the staff were very helpful and looked after us really well, the food was absolutely amazing and all our guests were enjoyed the food and the experience we could not fault any of it and would highly recommend this hotel to have your wedding.

Staff were excellent, room was clean with nice toiletries/drinks etc. Overall a good experience, but over priced for size of room/quality of food in restaurant. Could also do with a freshen up with regards to decor.

We had our Ancient History summer ball here and it was a wonderful evening. Beautiful room, lovely food and helpful staff!

Went their for the works Xmas party. The meal was that small you could of fitted it in a thimble. Entertainment was a young lad in the corner playing tunes.

The hotel is beautiful, clean and tidy, and well located. But my room was very cold.

Really nice hotel, the room was lovely and clean and I had a great nights sleep! Good value for money! Only thing I struggled with was the Wi-Fi!

The food was of a high quality.

I had no issues parking, there were plenty of spaces. I was welcomed upon arrival, shown the bar and ushered to the restaurant upon request. The food was delicious, well cooked and waiting times were minimal.

Absoluteley dreadful. I went to the room to unpack and found the bed unmade and dirty. I complained to the staff on reception who said that they would deal with it. I went out for the evening to a business dinner entertaining customers until very late. When I returned the bed was exactly the same and only the night porter available who could not help. The next day (after being forced to sleep in a soiled bed), the management were dismissive and uninterested. Nasty place and nasty people. avoid.

Lovely hotel BUT don't order the cream tea — the time I was kept waiting for the scone to arrive said it all — I think the staff had nipped down the road to the Tesco express and purchased the scone, very surprised in that they must have qualified caterers on site who should be able to produce a reason, fresh 'proper scone'.

This is a great hotel, in a central location with good staff who are helpful and cheerful. It is child friendly as well with family rooms and staff who are good with children. The building is Victorian so it is a bit creaky in places but this just adds to its charm and individuality. Overall a very nice hotel at a very reasonable rate.

Have stayed here numerous times on business trips and although the Hotel is not the most luxurious, I would say it is probably the most consistent in this area of Leicester. The Hotel does not have mnany floors which is a plus point but those that it does have are long, windy and creak a lot. It used to be owned by Best Western until recently and its clear that it is an old building (started life as a girl's school! ) that has been given a lick of paint and a brush up (not unpleasantly it has to be said) The rooms are reasonable and clean although can get hot in the summer. Some are very quircky, like the one I had just before christmas where the room was small and on two levels! I'll leave that to your imagination. The restaurant is reasonably priced and the food more than acceptable. Breakfast is satisfactory without being ostentatious. I have always found the service friendly and helpful. If you get there early-ish, there is ample parking although its not of Tesco proportions. All in all, I try and stay here given its proximity to the station and can recommend it as a good solid Hotel as long as you are not expecting a four-star experience.
