The George Great Oxendon Inn

We visited the George last night, the team couldn’t have been more accommodating and the food was incredible! Thank you, we’ll be back!

Excellent food and brilliant service.

Food was amazing. Great staff, nothing was too much trouble. It was mum's birthday and they gave her a surprise pudding with Happy Birthday written on the plate, no pre-arrangement just out of professionalism. The male waiter was absolutely amazing with my mum, made her feel like amazing dollars. Thank you. 100% recommend.

Friendly staff and delicious food in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. And in the strange times we live in, I have to mention the excellent social distancing and Covid-19 precautions — we felt safe as well as well-fed.

My wife and I visited here for our anniversary dinner, we had a fantastic meal with super attentive service. Christoff in the bar was very flamboyant and made our evening extremely memorable. Highly recommended, we will be back.

4 different meals for 4 people and all exceptional! Desserts were exceptional too. And cheese and biscuits plate was varied and delicious! Service was very quick, considering all food was freshly prepared. Would definitely recommend and will be returning!

The food is excellent whether its lunch time or in the evening. I love the decor which is simple but elegant. The garden is beautiful in the summer and a delight to sit in with friends and family for lunch or evening meal. It’s my favorite place to eat in Market Harborough.

Had lunch yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Has been refurbished to a very high standard. The food was excellent and staff very attentive. The garden looked lovely although we couldn’t enjoy it due to the rain

Our first time at The George definitely wont be our last! The food, staff and surrounding were all excellent. Lovely choice of meat vegetarian and fish dishes excellent wine list included a late harvest Sauvignon dessert wine. Thee staff were friendly and very efficient. Already planning another visit.

Enjoyed a meal At the George. Food was good can't fault it. Service was also good in the way that the staff were kind. The staff is very young and would benefit from slightly better training and an older person to hold every thing in place eg getting drinks on time, knowing slightly more about the wine list and not being so stressed. We never received our drinks before the meal — only after asking for it twice — it was just a little unorganised and rushed but it's small things. The food were great and it's a lovely place that's deserves 5 stars!

I have made a point of visiting The George in Oxendon many times and found the whole ambience of the place to be superb. Through the light and airy stylish reception into the beautifully set out restaurant area overlooks NGH the gardens, the comfy seating round the fire, the cosy well stocked large bar areas and even into the extensive landscape garden with its large patio offering ample seating to enjoy. Staff are 10 out of 10 and could not be more welcoming nor attentive. The large choice on the menu'S' for both Lunch times and Evenings could not be better served. All in all one of the best and well worth a visit … or two.
