I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the hotel. The room that my partner and I was allocated was extremely small and the bathroom miniscule. The bathroom had no window and the extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working. I did report this failure of the fan to the receptionist who said that it hadn't worked for some time! The room could only be accessed by quite a walk and there was no lift to this area of the hotel. This was difficult at times as one of the people I was with found this and the stairs to the 1st floor difficult. The room was rather dated and could do with refurbishing. The self-service breakfast was good with plenty of choice, the waiters were helpful and attentive. On the plus side there was a lovely indoor pool and Jacuzzi and there was a small sitting out area which we were able to use, especially as the weather was gorgeous. The staff on duty on Sunday placed a large screen in the lounge which allowed residents to watch the Wimbledon final if they wished. I did notice today that when two elderly ladies booked in it was too early for them to have access to their room. The receptionist on duty said that they could put their cases under the stairs until the room was ready as there was no room there they were then told they could put them in a small dining room. The receptionist made no effort to help them and I helped them with their cases. Both of these ladies had walking sticks so was a bit difficult for them. We weren't booked in for dinner but did feel that it was expensive for what they were serving. The price we paid for three nights was very reasonable but just thought that the small things mentioned could be improved up on.
