We had our wedding here on Saturday and it was absolutely fantastic. All of the staff were wonderful — especially Lisa. Lisa has been wonderful thought the pandemic (this was our 3rd wedding date). Everything was perfect!

It's been fantastic food is exceptional. Staff are so friendly and helpful… place is beautiful… we will be back next year as there is no downside at all.

Great Christmas party night at Lancaster House Hotel. The staff were amazing and so attentive during the evening. A fun night! Again at breakfast the staff were so friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Rooms were spacious with lovely toiletries and fluffy white towels. Lovely spa. The hotel has everything you need for a break away and good value for money.

The hotel is quite nice but extremely overpriced for what it is. Extortionate prices in the restaurant, coffee not great, food portions are tiny. £17 per person for an English breakfast, the sausages and mushrooms tasted like they were out of a tin which was very disappointing. In the restaurant we had two meals, and a dessert to share cost £80, food was nothing special and again portions were tiny. Lots of people walking around inside the hotel all over the place without masks on and zero social distancing… but the staff were friendly and the hotel had a nice atmosphere overall. Probably wouldn't go again.

The staff were just utterly spectacular. Nothing was too much trouble. They did an amazing job looking after our whole party. Highly recommended.

Brilliant place, friendly staff, great food, quality hotel.

Absolutely disappointed with the greasy, burnt and tasteless food. Poor service, had our main taken back to be changed as our steak and onion sandwiches were cold with burnt toast and Browning and slimy lettuce. Our side orders were left at the table going cold… no plates to eat from and no one to get any condiments!
Eventually our mains returned… "horseless" radish sauce, boiled to death onions and a couple of bits of pedigree chum… I mean, steak! The bread had to be stale to be that crumbly… the salad was marginally better but now drowned in an oily dressing.
Honestly… we had been in the spa and we were feeling relaxed… deciding to dine there was a stressful experience. You don't expect to spend ten pounds on a sandwich that's served like that.
I hate being the one that complains but I just had to.
The only saving graces… pigs in blankets were yummy and they knocked the sandwiches off the bill.
Will I be back? Absolutely not I'm afraid!

I had the Groupon spa experience. Loved the outdoor hot tub n the indoor jacuzzi, went to the sauna and steam room too. After that was the full body massage, facial and scalp massage. Ended the day with peppermint tea. Definitely recommend this place.

Just got back from a 2 night New Year’s Eve break. Was fantastic worth every penny. Suite and hotel spotless. All staff very friendly and helpful. From the moment we arrived it was fab champagne and afternoon tea. Food was gorgeous, casino and champagne tasting entertainment was great and really well organized. New Year’s Eve meal and disco was brilliant. The hotel was decorated very Christmasy and cozy with real fire which was lovely. Loved it. Thank you so much for a fab new year break.

My husband and I had the most amazing wedding there on the 20th of July 2019, after a few hic ups no fault of the hotel though. The staff could not of been more helpful than they were, Lisa was a complete star from start to finish and we must mention Connor who was just as helpful to us. Connor you were brilliant at doing the Cha Cha Slide also Dave. Lancaster House you did us proud xx.

Loved it and thoroughly recommend Connor is an asset and good team worker.

Rooms seem ok, very clean. Popped into the bar for a burger and a couple beers… beers ok, for £16 I was expecting an amazing burger… woefully disappointed, I think I will head into town tomorrow… did have a nice swim in the pool before dinner… just avoid the bar for food, you will get as described, not expected.

Stayed here the night before and the night of my wedding. The room was fantastic, the food was delicious and the staff could not have been more helpful! It was a wonderful and relaxing experience and I would recommend the accommodation to anyone! Thank you x.

DJ Raf is the best event DJ I’ve ever seen, we booked him for the full day and he was worth every penny! He was our Master Of Ceremonies and he had everyone where they needed to be on time and with a lot of added fun. We lost count of the number of people telling us that Raf was the best DJ they had ever seen. Lancaster House was brilliant they were very accommodating and helpful and now they have teamed up with Raf they will be number 1 wedding event. Raf had the room bouncing from start to finish and even worked well with the band.

Went here for a friend's wedding. Stayed over the night. The wedding itself was wonderful, that is in part to the brilliant staff and facilities at Lancaster House. The space was perfect for the event, with an outside space off the main party area to get fresh air and have a break from dancing! The catering was great. Breakfast the following morning was fab — full English buffet options, with continental extras and other options from the kitchen available. Vegetarians were well catered for. Took advantage of the pool and spa facilities too. All very clean, tidy and a real treat! The staff were welcoming, kind and helpful. Would love to visit again for a weekend away.

Great location. Visited it for a wedding and it was so beautiful, especially in the sun. The building was amazing and the day was great. Staff were brilliant and had a lovely reception. I did not stay but the reports about the rooms were all very positive. A good hotel in a lovely location.

Went for a spa day and afternoon tea. Staff where lovely at the spa. Enjoyed the treatments, swimming pool and outdoor hot tub. Food was good but after getting the food the service was nonexistent.

Well what can I say other than WOW. Came this weekend for a wedding stayed over as part of the bridal party for 2 nights and the team here are fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble even at 1am in the morning when you're locked out of you're room (sigh) The staff did everything and anything they could for all the guests in our party the food was great and the spa/pool area was lovely. Big shout out to Harry/ The younger lady with glasses and dark hair on reception/The new guy behind the bar it was his second night who personally went the extra mile at one point or another thought the weekend. Will be back.

Lovely hotel in a lovely area. The staff are lovely and the rooms are clean and very nice. We had a lovely breakfast (gluten free sausage was rock hard but the rest was lovely).
We have stayed a few times and always enjoyed our stays.
Just a massive shame that they don’t warn you about the university Extrav night before you book. If we had known and been prepared maybe we wouldn’t have minded or we could have gone elsewhere. It kept us awake last night — we wanted a good nights sleep as we have a 5 month old at home and were so looking forward to our break. It was very loud dance bass thudding from 1-2am which totally ruined it for us. We heard her music before this and the volume was low enough for us to sleep. But at 1am they really turned it up. We paid £110 for this and for that price I’m really disappointed as I expect a decent nights sleep. The letter waiting for us in our room which mentioned it stated ‘we do not anticipate any disruption’. I know that the hotel did not put on this event but as it’s an annual event maybe they could work with the university to ensure that it ends at midnight and volume is kept to a decent level.

I stayed in the hotel for a work event for 3 days and had a lovely stay. Rooms was nice, big and clean. Good choice for breakfast and meals during the day. They have a main restaurant and a kinda bar that also does food. I kept going to the bar for food as it was cheaper than the restaurant and I want so hungry in the evening because I had a big meal from the restaurant for lunch. The staff are all friendly, the hotel is lovely. Lots of car parking spaces and they do have gym facilities I think but I didn't use these. Overall a great hotel.

We had one of the luxury double bed rooms. And I do mean luxary. They don't hold back! Room was cosey. Bed was superb. The design of the room was fantastic :)

Our daughter is having her wedding there so we thought we would give it a trial run… booked a luxury room. We checked in on a Friday and went straight to the spa where we were given locker keys and towels. The gym equipment is very modern and I enjoyed my time in there. The pool was gorgeous. Luckily for us tge sun was out the sky was blue so we were able to sit on sunbeds and go in the jacuzzi… outside… bliss! The bedroom has sliding doors so you can close off the lounge area and watch TV and make a cup of tea without disturbing you partner… looking forward to November 19

Really nice hotel with good facilities. Excellent leisure complex and not too far to get into the centre of Lancaster. Plus close to the motorway for access.

Perfect place to stay if you're visiting the University. Excellent food and gym facilities, including swimming pool and hot tub (free to guests! ). Comfortable rooms, although can get a little noisy if you're on the ground floor. Free car parking.

Lovely hotel and staff. The bar food is great and perfect for casual meetings. Only problem I have is that the Wi-Fi is not free throughout and you need to ask for log in details which is not always easy to find someone to provide a password.

Excellent friendly staff. Lovely spa. The restaurant provided us with a great evening meal from a menu with many local dishes. Would have been a 5 star review, but the breakfast service lets the hotel down a bit. Cramped tables on which it is difficult to get everything on. Below ours there was a lump of butter which my wife put her bag in (probably got there because the table was too small! ), we had to constantly ask staff for various items that had ran out and not been re-stocked — glasses, bowls, orange juice, bacon, eggs, black pudding. I know it can be busy, but the cost of the breakfast should fund enough staff to cover it. It was very tasty though.

Stayed for a wedding for 1 night. Room was quite far away from reception but clean. Bed was large and comfortable. Furniture felt dated and bathroom was clean but dated.

Visited for a wedding and stayed overnight. Very pleasant venue with good facilities. Fridges at bar weren't working however so all drinks were a bit warm.

Visited on a Spa day at the Sandpiper Club yesterday. Everything was perfect from start to finish, the staff were friendly and professional, facilities were clean and well maintained. We had booked a wowcher package and with afternoon tea and that was perfect too, they took into account my dietary requests, the food was fresh and the tea served in individual tea pots made with tea leaves. We were lucky that it was a sunny clear day and we were able to sit in the outdoor hot tub in the glorious winter sunshine. All in all a fantastic day and I will definitely be returning.

We stopped here on the way home from Scotland. The room was really nice, it was clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable and huge. There is a spa at the hotel which we used on the day we checked out, which was free to use. It had a gym, pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and outside hot tub. The restaurant and bar is nice, and the food is lovely. We were very happy with our stay, we'll definitely be going back.

Staff were friendly. Room was large and the bed was comfortable. I wouldn't recommend the shower if you are over 5"10 as you will struggle to fit under it. Excellent selection of complimentary tea and coffee. No problems with noise. Plenty of parking. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice.

I love staying at the Lancaster House Hotel! Rooms are always comfortable and clean and the toiletries are of high quality, from the standard room to the luxurious suite! The food is excellent and the menu is has options for every taste. The breakfast is my favourite. There's a buffet and a menu option! I always go for eggs Benedict with ham! The leisure centre has everything you need and it is quite enough to enjoy your workout. My favourite is the spinning bikes that come with videos to help you train. After that, a swim in the pool, sauna or steam room and of course the outdoors hot tub! Very refreshing in the winter! The staff is very friendly and always there to help! As I visit Lancaster very frequently, this hotel feels like home! I recommend it even if you are local and you'd like to go for a nice meal or escape the every day routine with your partner. As I usually travel for business, this hotel has the right atmosphere for meetings over meals or conferences.

The luxury studio suite was great — really good value with the breakfast and dinner package. Restaurant is excellent. I couldn't praise the place enough. Open fire in the lobby — cosy to sit in front of with a coffee and newspaper. Good pool. Really friendly but very professional staff. We had our 6 week old son and felt very welcome. Nothing bad to say! My husband loves the outdoor hot tub — I've enjoyed taking our baby swimming. They even sell the swimming nappies in the health club reception.

Conference room facilities excellent. Have also eaten before and dinner was lovely. Planning a spa visit soon. Always high quality.

Fantastic facility. Great service and staff. Food was exceptional try the mushrooms. Room peaceful and quiet with space. In from Canada and needed a rest well satisfied.

When we visited the food was badly presented and some of it was over cooked. They didnt cater for the egg free in out party-they brought out egg mayo in stale bread, all be it gluten free… the meal was supposed to be salmon and new potatos… the cake that was brought out had egg in it, this too was gluten free they said… the service from the bar staff was great but otherwise it was a complete shambles. I will not be returning and will not recomend it either.

Great place to hold special occasions. Very modern facilities. There are additinal services in the hotel like hairdressers. The staff where friendly and efficient. There is a large range of foods and drinks to choose from when plan your event.

The room was good with a large bed and tv's but didn't have any shampoos. The restaurant is nice but has small portions for the evening meal.

Decent atmosphere and easily accessible from the university. Fine for food and drink. Service is not entirely attentive, but staff are polite and courteous. Publicly accessible amenities are clean and reasonably modern.

Absolutely amazing, me and my Wife had our wedding reception and evening reception here and they made our dream wedding become reality. The bedrooms were gorgeous. Clean and modern. We were in the silverdale suite which was huge and had everything we needed and could of asked for. Will definitely be staying her again. The fitness centre is great, so much to do and the swimming pool and hot tub are to die for. All in all the hotel is far the best in the area and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Lancaster house and all your staff.

I attended a friends wedding here. Lovely venue and great staff. Food was beautiful also.

Went in for lunch with work colleagues on Friday. Fairly quiet with about 4 other tables occupied. The menu is good, but quite expensive (£7 for a cold sandwich, £12.50 for a hot steak sandwich) I opted for the fish and chips (also £12.50) which was a very generous portion, well cooked, with much peas and tartar sauce. My colleagues had sandwiches which also looked good, with thick bread and plenty of filling. Considering the quietness of the bar, I was surprised it took over half an hour to serve 4 sandwiches and a portion of fish and chips, however the quality was good, so no real complaints. The food, considering it's bar food is quite pricey, but again, is a fair reflection on the quality. As a special place to eat, just off the University campus, it's a nice change from the usual and somewhere I'd happily return to again.

We visited the sandpiper leisure club in Lancaster house for a spa day. Easy to find and close to the motorway. Staff were all so lovely would highly recommend. Everything was clean, food was lovely, great atmosphere around. Facilities were great they have the spa with pool and outdoor hot tub, beauty room, hairdressers and bar and restaurant. I my elf will be returning.

Stayed at lancaster house before. Normally it is a lovely experience with staff who are exceptionally polite and helpful. This time, I unfortunately spilt a drink in bed during the night and needed to rush off in the morning so couldn't report it. I came back to the room to find a note informing me that I was being charged £75 for a mattrass deep clean as it was so wet. I stripped the bed to find terribly stained and marked old mattress that looked as though it had not been cleaned once. Thankfully on report this to the staff they removed the extra charge for the cleaning.

Great location, a short drive off the motorway, ample parking. Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms, great food, the staff at the hotel were helpful and lovely people. We are definitely going back.

Lovely hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff. Stayed for 2 nights 1 of which we took a short taxi ride (about £7) into lancaster for a night out. The 2nd we had a meal at the hotel which was excellent, special mention to the peanut butter cheesecake! Breakfast superb with help yourself buffet. Restaurant staff Andrew and Aggee very helpful and nice to talk to. Good leisure facilities with outdoor hot tub a pleasantly surprising experience in early March! Very enjoyable trip and we hope to visit again.

This is a great hotel, just outside Lancaster. Paid £99 for a suite, last-minute and it was excellent value for money. The service at the hotel was excellent. The only niggles really were that on two occasions, there were dirty plates and glasses left in the bar and reception area, where I was sat for a considerable period of time. The bar in particular wasn't overly busy, but the tables weren't being cleared. The suite was lovely but, if I'd paid full-price I would have expected at least a bottle of mineral water in the room, ideally a mini-bar and something to play music on — a dock or bluetooth speaker would be perfect. But, it was beautifully clean, well-presented and for £99, well, excellent value. I'll be returning.

My wife and I have stayed at The Lancaster House Hotel on a number of occasions each one better than the last. On this visit we took advantage of the tour of the Brewery and the conductive tour of the Castle in Lancaster. Both trips were outstanding. And inclusive in the cost of the hotel package. Excellent value and a proper education. This leads on to 1st class rating that we give to the management and staff of The Lancaster House Hotel. To mention just a few, The reception staff inclusive of Tracey and Clare who without their assistance we would have been lost in the surrounding area and my have had to enrol at the campus. The Housekeeping staff Nettie in particular who looked after our room and kept it to a very high standard of cleanliness, nothing was to much trouble she carried out her tasks cheerfully with a greeting when encountered in the corridor. We apologise to all the staff we have forgotten the names of. And will try harder next time to remember the names. We will be back.

Have stayed here several times as my daughter is at Lancaster University. I have never been disappointed. The quality of the accommodation is excellent and have always had great food in the Foodworks Restaurant.

Lovley relaxing hotel with beautiful grounds. A £10 taxi ride back into Lancaster city centre so not recommended for those looking for a night out.

My new husband and I had the most wonderful time staying at this hotel. Such a beautiful hotel and our loom was lovely. Had everything we needed. We stayed in the luxury suite, which I thought was worth paying extra for. The bedroom was separate to the sofa area, which we really liked. Our bathroom was huge with a bath and shower. When we arrived we had a warm welcome and the big fireplace was gorgeous as a part of the hotel entrance. We has food in the restaurant, which was absolutely superb. The food was delicious and presented so elegantly. We also had a lovely surprise when we were placed at a table that had a Congratulations balloon, card and chocolates from the hotel. We also had a glass of champagne each courtesy of the hotel, which we were really touched by. The service was excellent, as everyone was so polite and welcoming. We especially liked the bar and restaurant manager Gary, who personally came over to talk to us and congratulated us on our wedding. He was so lovely and made an effort to talk to us on several occasions. We'd never come across a member of hotel staff who was so genuinely nice and welcoming in any of the places we've stayed. He certainly made us feel very special as well as the other members of staff. The facilities were also excellent as it had a spa, gym, pool, indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Probably the best hotel we've stayed in.

Possibly the best hotel I've ever stayed at. I don't normally write reviews, and if I do I normally do it anonymously but this hotel impressed me so much I'll publicly go on record. It has all that you would expect from a good hotel (good food, nice rooms, pool, gym, etc. ). What made the difference was: 1. The attitude to kids: the staff accepted our kids (4 and 6) as full guests, not inconveniences. They had kids bags in our room with drawing and sweets. It was Easter weekend and they had laid on an activity room and egg hunt. (For a hotel that is clearly work related — Lancaster Management School is next door — this was especially surprising. ) 2. Staff were relaxed and were happy to help: neither following a script (like American hotels) or just doing their job (like UK hotels) 3. Even though we got a good price and there were no extra charges (a la Hilton), not for Wi-Fi, not for parking or anything, and no unwanted newspapers. I stay at plenty of hotels (mainly in the UK) for work and its hard to think of one as good as this.
