Amazing food, room amenities staff are great will definitely return.

I had my wedding at this venue on 01/05/22. We booked our wedding all the way back in 2019 for what should've been a 2020 wedding. We saw our fair share of wedding co-ordinators but everyone who handled our wedding did so amazingly. We unfortunately had to postpone 3x and it was so stress free due to the staff being very calm and accomodating for us. I apologise as I do not remember his name but our Master of Ceremonies was so helpful on the day. He always found time to check in on me and my Husband and asked if he could do anything and he was so helpful. Everyone of our guests complimented the hotel for how beautiful it looked. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being there for us and helping make all of the swapping around as easy as possible and for making our day simply the best day of our lives. Also huge compliments to the chef's! EVERYONE said how delicious their 3 course meal was and we agree! It was one of the best 3 course meals we have ever had it was to die for!

Lovely room, spa clean and quiet, afternoon tea and evening meal was gorgeous! Bar a bit slow but waiting staff great. If anything would have made stay better its smiley staff, probably reasons for this. Booked massage and facial in spa, 3/4 of us were very pleased with experience, unfortunately my experience was not great but raised with manager and payment refunded. I am not a complainer usually but my experience was not uo to standard by any means. I am happy to leave it there as the rest of my party had a great experience and would go back in a flash!

I will recommend this place because it’s nice! The fact that the hotel granted my request that’s cool, however the restaurant staff are quite inexperienced dealing with guest queries! Apart from very slow serving for our dessert 🍨 The ice dessert presentation is no better than weatherspoon! The ice cream 🍦 glass is designed for kids! Am quite disappointed.

I’ve been twice for a meal here but have both times found it lacking. I would say that the layout is not conducive to relaxation, the tables are basic and lacking oomph. Staff were sullen and banged plates down on the table each time. This is not a cheap restaurant but the surroundings and staff make it feel that way. So sad that it is not better as I am local and would go regularly if it met the standards.

This place is the best! During the tier lockdown they made my daughters wedding, no friends or family could be there after the ceremony (at a registry office) but was able to book and evening meal and executive room for the bridal couple. Barton Manor made themselves the friends and family! I could no recommend enough!

We were married here 4/8/18 and always go back for special meals and stays. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much for them it’s such a lovely atmosphere and would definitely recommend a visit.

Fawlty Towers Experience
Upon booking I was not advised of any changes due to Covid-19, apart from we won’t be able to use leisure facilities which was absolutely fine.
Arriving in our room there was no welcome/instruction sheet with Wi-Fi details (4G dosnt work), breakfast times or bar opening hours, no shampoo for shower. This is a 4 star hotel with ‘all the facilities you would expect’.
Went down for our evening meal which was included within the package I bought my partner for his birthday, they served me a Chicago town pizza! I asked the waiter for mayonnaise and he brought brown sauce and his response ‘oh s**t sorry pal’. They did take our drinks off the bill, but honestly had I been prewarned at the time of booking and my expectations been set I would have waited. This is not the service that is expected I told the waiter and he told the chef.
The Radiator in room didn’t work so they supplied a plug in heater, its not safe to sleep with it left on so we were freezing cold shivering in the night.
I am honestly not the type to write negative reviews but for £140 I would have rather saved my money and cooked a frozen pizza at home. So so sad.

Good staff and comfortable bed.

Incredible place. We stopped last night. Our room was beautiful, spotless, spacious and the bed was impossible to get out of it was that comfortable. Our secret hidden bathroom behind the book case was the icing on the cake.
The staff can’t do enough for you. They make you feel so welcome.
The decor in the games room was stunning and gave the place a real relaxing atmosphere.
Probably one of the nicest meals Iv ever eaten. Their salmon dish was the best salmon Iv ever had in my life (and Iv eaten A LOT of salmon dishes haha). Huge choice of continental breakfast and the fry up was on point!.
Sally in reception is amazing. We absolutely loved her. So so friendly and welcoming.
We will be back. I’d recommend this place over and over.

Fabulous venue, went to a murder mystery evening here and stayed the night. Must say was disappointed to discover myself and a friend had been allocated a double bed when we had specifically requested twins! In fairness a Truckle bed was installed but not quite the same! I think maybe a little more communication from staff would have been nice!

Excellent customer service — said I didn’t feel well and could I have a few slices of lemon as I had some honey and was going to make myself a honey and lemon in my room — they instead presented me with this! A real surprise. Do not judge a book by its cover! The dated exterior of the hotel hides a real gem. A great design concept, excellent food and fabulous service. We had a fabulous stay.

We recently got married at the hotel and cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff went over and above to make the day one of the best of our lives! Nothing was too much trouble. As well as having a truly amazing wedding day, our room was fantastic, as was the food at The Walled Garden!

The staff were wonderful and all my requests were catered for no trouble at all. The food was delicious and plenty of it. The walled garden was lively and clean and the atmosphere great for a quiet girly lunch.

All staff attentive and accommodating, food absolutely outstanding, the lamb dish was perfect, we’re real foodies and would happily say this is the best hotel food we’ve ever eaten, hope we get to eat there again.

We had a great time he we went swimming 4times while staying and each time had the pool to ourselves my son loved been able to splash about without having to worry staff very helpful and friendly.

What an excellent hotel the rooms are well equipped very clean too. The food is excellent quality with good service & wine too. The gardens are beautiful also they have good pool & sauna there's nothing negative I can say about our visit.

We got married here 27.04.2019 and we couldn’t of asked for a better day, everything was perfect! Sarah the wedding co-ordinator was so helpful leading up to the big day, she always answered any questions I had and kept me calm up to the very day. Daryl who was our master of ceremonies on the day was excellent, she did everything she could for us. I can’t fault anything, all the guests commented on how nice the food was and how friendly the staff were. We have stayed at the hotel a couple of times leading up to the wedding and will be definitely staying again, hopefully many times! Barton Grange hotel will always have a special place in our hearts! Very friendly staff. Stayed only one night after a wedding do elsewhere. Excellent facilities, wished we lived further away so we could justify another stay.

I went there to attend wedding. It is a lovely place with lot of open area. There is free parking as well. The only problem was the toilets were over flowing, nobody looked after it.

Fantastic Hotel for a very good rate, pool, gym and sauna facilities. Receptionist very welcoming. Little touches like Fresh milk, Nespresso, Ice machines.

Lovely place, staff were just so nice! Room was small but very clean and comfy! I ordered room service breakfast and it was delivered on time and was bloody lovely! I was a bit thrown by not having a quilt on the bed but they could not have known I would miss it for health issues and had I asked, they would have sorted it! The staff make this place outstanding!

My Wife Used to work for Barton Grange but not at the hotel. We attended as a guest to a. Wedding and it was well catered. Food was great and good times. The bar area is ample size but could have done with more seating area outside the main room. Balcony area was welcomed for it was hot that day.

Last week my grandson attended prom at Barton Grange Hotel, he was incredibly disappointed with the food. He was served chicken that he couldn’t get his fork into and the gravy was extremely salty. Furthermore the DJ was utterly diabolical, his music choice was inappropriate for the audience and he never saw more than 10 people dancing. The majority of the people there were huddled on the balcony trying to escape the music. I doubt that my next grandson will be wasting money there when he has his leaving do. I would appreciate a reply as to why it was such a poor experience for these young people.

This is an excellent, family owned hotel. I have run two training events at the Barton Grange and this is the best training venue I have have worked at. The food is excellent, the residential rooms are comfortable and best of all, the staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble for them. Highly recommended.

Nice location. The hotel itself is like a maze & you would be lucky to find out your way easily. Does have lot of potential to make it better. Nice place overall with ample onsite parking.

This former Manor Hous has been remodeled and refurbished and turned out to be a lovely family run Hotel set in a spacious garden. Good size rooms with new bathrooms. Friendly and helpful staff.

This was our 3rd stay and it gets better every time. The evening meal was exceptional. Had the pool to ourselves in the morning before a delicious hearty breakfast. Big thank you to all the hard working staff.

I attended a conference there. The location was great. The venue was excellent. Welcome drinks on arrival, constant supply of water through the day. The lunch was delicious and staff were very attentive.

Always had excellent service when I have been here on a works night out or any other do. Not actually stayed in the hotel but one group I go with every year most people stay over & I haven't heard a bad word about it. Food is good & they always make sure each table gets served together. Friendly staff as well.

Stay here frequently for work. As a single traveller I feel very at home, the staff are great and the hotel is lovely.

Just called in the reception hoping to get a paracetamol because my wife may be going into labour, and got the whole "legal" speil about not being able to give you one. Least helpful thing, on a really heavy foggy night to drive in.

At the moment a wonderful hotel with good recommendations, a wedding date in July has been booked for my daughter, the taster night was superb the wedding day will be great But either way I will write about it. Mike.

Lovely afternoon tea, fantastic value, a proper northern treat for mother's day and delicious locally sourced Lancashire ingredients. Would definitely come again!

We stayed on the Friday fizz deal and upgraded for another £10 — so £119 for dinner, bed and breakfast. The staff were fabulous — the receptionist Rebecca was fab, friendly and makes a mean raspberry G&T. The room was lovely and spacious, the bed comfy (but sadly not the pillows) and the food was excellent. Lovely fresh fruit in the salad for breakfast, good quality sausages and bacon… very nice. Prior to dinner we utilised the pool and sauna and had the place to ourselves. It was great! For Dinner We had the 3 courses for £25 in the Walled Garden restaurant and the food was excellent, however the wait for food really let it down. Over an hour from starter to main, and another 45 minutes from main to dessert (it was only cheese, how long can it take?! ). Such a shame and really put a damper on our evening, as everything else had been so good. So overall a very lovely stay for a very reasonable price, and we will definitely go back but will make sure we eat before we go!

Was attending Barton Grange hotel for a seminar so wasn't using all the facilities but the staff looked after us and made sure we was comfortable.

Barton Grange Hotel has had an interior makeover. It now looks like a 70s hotel that is in need of renovation, but everything is new! Bad decision! Cold room and just one poor quality tea bag per person Go next door to their Walled Garden restaurant and amazing and warm squishy sofa rich sitting area but tea is just as awful!

We went here for my works awards for my 25 years service dinner and dance. The place is very upmarket and everything was brilliant especially the food. Didn't manage to try the breakfast next morning as I was a bit too erm… delicate lol.

Went for a black tie event and it was excellent. The food was very good and their in house MC gave great entertainment making it an extremely fun night.

Had a lovely overnight stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary last weekend. What a great deal we got with 'Friday Fizz'! Bottle of prosecco thrown in and three course meal in bistro all part of the deal! We really enjoyed the swimming pool, sauna and games room. Could have been more staff around and shower a little temperamental, but will definitely go again!

We stayed here overnight as we were going to a wedding. Lovely room. Brilliant food. Lovely staff. Couldn't fault it once we found the place. The satnav had us going all over the place but really glad we persevered. Enjoyed our stay very much. Hope to be back.

Conference room was well appointed. Air con made it freezing at times though. Food was great. Staff were lovely. Toilets a bit grotty. Overall pretty good.

We visited for a Friday Fizz package which included a 3 course meal, a bottle of fizz and an overnight stay with breakfast. Our room was lovely, in a separate building to the main hotel, but obviously recently renovated. It had everything we needed and a really big comfy bed! The meal was from the Homegrown Menu… and it was absolutely delicious. From the setting in The Walled Garden and the service down to the quality and presentation of the food. We couldn't fault it AT ALL! The only *slight* disappointment was breakfast which was a self service buffet style affair. After the quality of the meal the night before we expected a table service breakfast and food cooked to order. It was ok… but perhaps a little luke-warm and definitely with a mass produced quality. We have already recommended the room and the menu to others… and we'll definitely return for another meal :)

Not much else to do close by, but it is not that kind of place. Wi-Fi was available across the hotel and seemed speedy enough. Would definitely return.

Went to a Wedding Open Day. Really great hosts giving us all the information we needed about having a Wedding there. The rooms on display were superb. Vendors were very friendly and knowledgeable. Gardens we're nice, didn't have the same spark but overall the venue was great.

Large friendly hotel set just off a busy road. The staff are freindly and helpful and the room I had was late and clean. Sky TV was a nice bonus too!

Had a lovely afternoon tea at Barton Grange with my 92 year old Grandma for a late birthday treat. When our afternoon tea arrived it was perfect. However was a little disappointed that I had booked in at 2.30pm in the lounge area to find there were no tables reserved. It didn't matter to me but as this was a birthday treat for my Grandma it just took the edge of our afternoon. Instead we were offered a table in another area which lacked atmosphere as we were on our own. I would recommend the afternoon tea but would recommend waiting until a day where the restaurant was available. I would like to add that a young waiter called Jack looked after us this afternoon and he was extremely polite and helpful.

My wife and I have a over night stay. The staff were excellent, rooms clean anf filled with little extras, coffee machine, sky TV etc fridge on every floor containing fresh milk. You have full use of the spa. The only down side was the pool was a little cood,

Thanks to all the staffand more importantly the hotel DJ in making our XMAS NIGHT OUT A NIGHT TO REMEMBER. The food was absolutey delicious very hot, the night entertainment was excelent and carried on through out the night all large and small parties was catered for. Thanks to all the staff at Barton Grange for making our day so memorable. This hotel is really at touch of class. The staff are very polite and so helpful and so well trained in silver service. The pool is very big and my nephew reports 'it was cool'. The rooms are very comfortable with excellent decor. I wish we could of stayed longer. The food is absolutley delicious and all from local produce. I can not praise these guys any more, they are unique. Thank you Cal and Kelly Hartigan-Burns.

Very good nice food, comfertable beds, nice views and a decent t. V but one the occasional program was blurry all in all very good.

On the 6th March at the Baby Beat Winter Ball in aid of Sharoe Green Baby Beat Appeal I was charged over £8.50 for a large Gin and Tonic which I considered to be excessive but was told that was the norm! After giving generously to the charity I hope Barton Grange Hotel will be making a large donation from their bar takings.
